| 2 | Blocking meningeal lymphatic drainage aggravates Parkinson’s disease-like pathology in mice overexpressing mutated α-synuclein显示文摘Background:Abnormal aggregation of brainα-synuclein is a central step in the pathogenesis of Parkinson’s disease(PD),thus,it is reliable to promote the clearance ofα-synuclein to prevent and treat PD.Recent studies have revealed an essential role of glymphatic system and meningeal lymphatic vessels in the clearance of brain macromolecules,however,their pathophysiological aspects remain elusive.Method:Meningeal lymphatic drainage of 18-week-old A53T mice was blocked via ligating the deep cervical lymph nodes.Six weeks later,glymphatic functions and PD-like phenotypes were systemically analyzed.Results:Glymphatic influx of cerebrospinal fluid tracer was reduced in A53T mice,accompanied with perivascular aggregation ofα-synuclein and impaired polarization of aquaporin 4 expression in substantia nigra.Cervical lymphatic ligation aggravated glymphatic dysfunction of A53T mice,causing more severe accumulation ofα-synuclein,glial activation,inflammation,dopaminergic neuronal loss and motor deficits.Conclusion:The results suggest that brain lymphatic clearance dysfunction may be an aggravating factor in PD pathology. | Wenyan Zou Tinglin Pu Weixi Feng Ming Lu Ying Zheng Renhong Du Ming Xiao Gang Hu | 2019 | Translational Neurodegeneration2019,8,1: | 17 |

| 4 | The Spatiotemporal Distribution Characteristics of Cloud Types and Phases in the Arctic Based on CloudSat and CALIPSO Cloud Classification Products显示文摘The cloud type product 2B-CLDCLASS-LIDAR based on CloudSat and CALIPSO from June 2006 to May 2017 is used to examine the temporal and spatial distribution characteristics and interannual variability of eight cloud types(high cloud, altostratus, altocumulus, stratus, stratocumulus, cumulus, nimbostratus, and deep convection) and three phases(ice,mixed, and water) in the Arctic. Possible reasons for the observed interannual variability are also discussed. The main conclusions are as follows:(1) More water clouds occur on the Atlantic side, and more ice clouds occur over continents.(2)The average spatial and seasonal distributions of cloud types show three patterns: high clouds and most cumuliform clouds are concentrated in low-latitude locations and peak in summer;altostratus and nimbostratus are concentrated over and around continents and are less abundant in summer;stratocumulus and stratus are concentrated near the inner Arctic and peak during spring and autumn.(3) Regional averaged interannual frequencies of ice clouds and altostratus clouds significantly decrease, while those of water clouds, altocumulus, and cumulus clouds increase significantly.(4) Significant features of the linear trends of cloud frequencies are mainly located over ocean areas.(5) The monthly water cloud frequency anomalies are positively correlated with air temperature in most of the troposphere, while those for ice clouds are negatively correlated.(6) The decrease in altostratus clouds is associated with the weakening of the Arctic front due to Arctic warming, while increased water vapor transport into the Arctic and higher atmospheric instability lead to more cumulus and altocumulus clouds. | Yue SUN Huiling YANG Hui XIAO Liang FENG Wei CHENG Libo ZHOU Weixi SHU Jingzhe SUN | 2024 | Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2024,41,2: | 0 |
| 5 | Acquired immunity and Alzheimer's disease显示文摘Alzheimer’s disease(AD) is an age-related neurodegenerative disease characterized by progressive cognitive defects. The role of the central immune system dominated by microglia in the progression of AD has been extensively investigated. However, little is known about the peripheral immune system in AD pathogenesis.Recently, with the discovery of the meningeal lymphatic vessels and glymphatic system, the roles of the acquired immunity in the maintenance of central homeostasis and neurodegenerative diseases have attracted an increasing attention. The T cells not only regulate the function of neurons, astrocytes, microglia, oligodendrocytes and brain microvascular endothelial cells, but also participate in the clearance of β-amyloid(Aβ) plaques. Apart from producing antibodies to bind Aβ peptides, the B cells affect Aβ-related cascades via a variety of antibodyindependent mechanisms.
