| 1 | Chemistry of sediments from the Dobczyce Reservoir,Poland,and the environmental implications显示文摘Sediments samples of the Dobczyce Reservoir(South Poland) were taken in three successive years(2004-06) at 17 points,analyzed for 12 elements by atomic absorption spectrometry.Substantial variations in elemental composition due to hydrological and environmental reasons were found.The use of statistical and chemometric tools enabled objective and effective analysis of the data obtained,both in case of long term observations as well as in terms of interpretation of incidental changes in metal concentrations.The proposed methodology can be useful in:a) dividing monitored territories(lakes,rivers,catchments) into similar and dissimilar areas;b) distinguishing between typical and non-typical contaminants distribution;c) reducing the number of essential analytes and sampling points that should be controlled in the future,without loss of important environmental information. | Witold RECZYNSKI Malgorzata JAKUBOWSKA Janusz GOLAS Andrew PARKER Barbara KUBICA | 2010 | International Journal of Sediment Research2010，25，1： | 2 |
| 2 | Comparison of the sediment composition in relation to basic chemical,physical,and geological factors显示文摘Sediment constitutes an interesting and valuable material for observation of human impact on the environment.Based on the sediment core samples in two Tatra Mountains lakes,determination of the selected elements(including cesium 137 radionuclide activity and heavy metals'concentrations)and dating of the obtained layers by the lead 210 method,chemometric analysis of the resulting data set was done.It was established,as a result of Cluster Analysis,that the variability of the determined parameters was distinct in the lakes with much higher concentrations of heavy metals in Smreczy nski staw lake.Also,the influence of human activity(long distance transport of contaminants)is notable on the north slopes of the Tatras(Smreczy nski staw lake)comparing to Popradske pleso lake.The examined elements can be divided into two groups enatural to the site origin(iron,manganese,and magnesium),and elements whose accumulation in the sediments can be related(at least in part)to human activity(137Cs,zinc,copper,cadmium,lead,and chromium).The results confirm the existence of the so called“screen effect”,meaning that the Tatra Mountains’crest delimits to a considerable extent further transport of pollutants to the south side of the Tatra Mountains slopes. | Witold Reczynski Katarzyna Szarlowicz Malgorzata Jakubowska Peter Bitusik Barbara Kubica | 2020 | International Journal of Sediment Research2020，35，3： | 1 |
