1Kinematic Analysis and Experimental Verification on the Locomotion of Gecko显示文摘This paper presents a kinematic analysis of the locomotion of a gecko,and experimental verification of the kinematicmodel.Kinematic analysis is important for parameter design,dynamic analysis,and optimization in biomimetic robot research.The proposed kinematic analysis can simulate,without iteration,the locomotion of gecko satisfying the constraint conditionsthat maintain the position of the contacted feet on the surface.So the method has an advantage for analyzing the climbing motionof the quadruped mechanism in a real time application.The kinematic model of a gecko consists of four legs based on 7-degreesof freedom spherical-revolute-spherical joints and two revolute joints in the waist.The motion of the kinematic model issimulated based on measurement data of each joint.The motion of the kinematic model simulates the investigated real gecko’smotion by using the experimental results.The analysis solves the forward kinematics by considering the model as a combinationof closed and open serial mechanisms under the condition that maintains the contact positions of the attached feet on the ground.The motions of each joint are validated by comparing with the experimental results.In addition to the measured gait,three othergaits are simulated based on the kinematic model.The maximum strides of each gait are calculated by workspace analysis.Theresult can be used in biomimetic robot design and motion planning.Woochul Nam TaeWon Seo Byungwook Kim DongsuJeon Kyu-Jin Cho Jongwon Kim 2009Journal of Bionic Engineering2009,6,3:6
2ZnS coating of cathode facilitates lean‐electrolyte Li‐S batteries显示文摘Tremendous effort has been devoted to lithium‐sulfur batteries,where flooded electrolytes have been employed ubiquitously.The use of lean electrolytes albeit indispensable for practical applications often causes low capacity and fast capacity fading of the sulfur cathode;thus,the electrolyte/sulfur active mass ratios below 5μL/mg have been rarely reported.Herein,we demonstrate that ZnS coating transforms sulfur cathode materials electrolyte‐philic,which tremendously promotes the performance in lean electrolytes.The ZnS‐coated Li2S@graphene cathode delivers an initial discharge capacity of 944mAh/g at an E/S ratio of 2μL/mg at the active mass loading of 5.0 mg Li2S/cm^2,corresponding to an impressive specific energy of 500Wh/kg based on the mass of cathode,electrolyte,and the assumed minimal mass of lithium metal anode.Density functional theory calculations reveal strong binding between ZnS crystals and electrolyte solvent molecules,explaining the better wetting properties.We also demonstrate the reversible cycling of a hybrid cathode of ZnS‐coated Li2S@graphene mixed with VS2 as an additive at an E/AM(active mass)ratio of 1.1μL/mg,equivalent to the specific energy of 432 Wh/kg on the basis of the mass of electrodes and electrolyte.Woochul Shin Jun Lu Xiulei Ji 2019Carbon Energy2019,1,2:5
3The electrolyte comprising more robust water and superhalides transforms Zn-metal anode reversibly and dendrite-free显示文摘A great challenge for all aqueous batteries,including Zn-metal batteries,is the parasitic hydrogen evolution reaction on the low-potential anode.Herein,we report the formula of a highly concentrated aqueous electrolyte that mitigates hydrogen evolution by transforming water molecules more inert.The electrolyte comprises primarily ZnCl_(2) and LiCl as an additive,both of which are inexpensive salts.The O-H covalent bonds in water get strengthened in a chemical environment that has fewer hydrogen bonding interactions and a greater number of Zn-Cl superhalides,as suggested by integrated characterization and simulation.As a result,the average Coulombic efficiency of zincmetal anode is raised to an unprecedented>99.7%at 1mA cm^(−2).In the new electrolyte,the plating/stripping processes leave the zinc-metal anode dendrite-free,and the zinc-metal anode delivers stable plating/stripping cycles for 4000 hours with an areal capacity of 4 mAh cm^(−2) at 2mA cm^(−2).Furthermore,the high Coulombic efficiency of zinc-metal anode in the ZnCl_(2)-LiCl mixture electrolyte is demonstrated in full cells with a limited anode.The V_(2)O_(5)·H_(2)O||Zn full cell with an N/P mass ratio of 1.2 delivers a stable life of more than 2500 cycles,and the LiMn_(2)O_(4)||Zn hybrid cell with an N/P mass ratio of 0.6 exhibits 1500 cycles in its stable life.Chong Zhang Woochul Shin Liangdong Zhu Cheng Chen Joerg C.Neuefeind Yunkai Xu Sarah I.Allec Cong Liu Zhixuan Wei Aigerim Daniyar Jia‐Xing Jiang Chong Fang P.Alex Greaney Xiulei Ji 2021Carbon Energy2021,3,2:3

8Smart ZnS@C filler for super-anticorrosive self-healing zinc-rich epoxy coating显示文摘The zinc-rich epoxy cathodic protection coating is the most widely used anticorrosion material for marine steel.However,traditional conductive fillers lack the intelligent self-healing effect,which limits the long-term anticorrosion performance.Herein,with uniform carbon-coated ZnS(ZnS@C)nanoballs as the smart active release filler,we propose an anticorrosive and self-healing zinc-rich maleic anhydride epoxy coating.Due to the high pore filling efficiency of the nanoballs,the water vapor transmission rate of the coating with an initial corrosion efficiency of 99.92%and a low-frequency impedance of|Z|f=10mHz=3.88×10^(10) Ω·cm^(2),was reduced by 52%.The carbon-shell of the nanoball increases electron transmission paths in the coating and improves conductivity by nearly two orders of magnitude,which effectively activates more Zn-sites and extends the cathodic protection time.Moreover,once the steel-substrate undergoes regional corrosion,the SO_(4)^(2-)hydrolyzes from the ZnS-core of the nanoball and reacts with iron ions on the corroded area accurately and intelligently to fill the gap and self-heals into a new dense barrier layer(Fe_(2)(SO_(4))_(3),etc.),which significantly improves the shielding protection ability during the long-term usage of the coating.The effective anticorrosion time of the proposed coating could be up to 3,400 h.Kai Yang Yixue Duan Guicheng Liu Guoyan Ma Hao Fu Xuyong Chen Manxiang Wang Gangqiang Zhu Woochul Yang Yiding Shen 2022Nano Research2022,15,5:1

20Robust ZnS interphase for stable Zn metal anode of high-performance aqueous secondary batteries显示文摘Although Zn metal is an ideal anode candidate for aqueous batteries owing to its high theoretical capacity,lower cost,and safety,its service life and efficiency are damaged by severe hydrogen evolution reaction,self-corrosion,and dendrite growth.Herein,a thickness-controlled ZnS passivation layer was fabricated on the Zn metal surface to obtain Zn@ZnS electrode through oxidation–orientation sulfuration by the liquid-and vapor-phase hydrothermal processes.Benefiting from the chemical inertness of the ZnS interphase,the as-prepared Zn@ZnS electrode presents an excellent anti-corrosion and undesirable hydrogen evolution reaction.Meanwhile,the thickness-optimized ZnS layer with an unbalanced charge distribution represses dendrite growth by guiding Zn plating/stripping,leading to long service life.Consequently,the Zn@Zn S presented 300 cycles in the symmetric cells with a 42 mV overpotential,200 cycles in half cells with a 78 mV overpotential,and superb rate performance in Zn||NH;V;O;full cells.Lingyun Xiong Hao Fu Weiwei Han Manxiang Wang Jingwei Li Woochul Yang Guicheng Liu 2022International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2022,29,5:1
