| 1 | Modulation of dragon's blood on tetrodotoxin-resistant sodium currents in dorsal root ganglion neurons and identification of its material basis for efficacy显示文摘To clarify the modulation of dragon's blood on the tetrodotoxin-resistant (TTX-R) sodium currents in dorsal root ganglion (DRG) neurons and explore its corresponding material basis for the efficacy, using whole-cell patch clamp technique, the effects of dragon's blood and the combined effects of three components (cochinchinenin A, cochinchinenin B, and loureirin B) extracted from dragon's blood on the TTX-R sodium currents in acute-isolated DRG neurons of rats were observed. According to the operational definition of material basis for the efficacy of TCM established, the material basis of the modulation on the TTX-R sodium currents in DRG neurons of dragon's blood was judged from the experimental results. The drug interaction equation of Greco et al. was used to assess the interaction of the three components extracted from dragon's blood. This investigation demonstrated that dragon's blood suppressed the peak TTX-R sodium currents in a dose-dependent way and affected the activations of TTX-R sodium currents. The effects of the combination of cochinchinenin A, cochinchinenin B, and loureirin B were in good agreement with those of dragon's blood. Although the three components used alone could modulate TTX-R sodium currents, the concentrations of the three components used alone were respectively higher than those used in combination when the inhibition rates on the TTX-R sodium currents of them used alone and in combination were the same. The combined effects of the three components were synergistic. | 4 | Identification of candidate soil microbes responsible for small-scale heterogeneity in strawberry plant vigour显示文摘Studies were conducted to identify candidate soil microbes responsible for observed differences in strawberry vigour at a small spatial scale, which was not associated with visual disease symptoms. Samples were obtained from the soils close to the rhizosphere of ‘big' and ‘small' plants from small plots which exhibited large local heterogeneity in plant vigour. A metabarcoding approach was used to profile bacterial and fungal compositions, using two primer pairs for 16 S ribosomal RNA genes(16S r DNA) and one for the fungal internal transcribed spacer(ITS) region. Of the two 16 S r DNA primer sets, the 341F/805 R resulted in sequences of better quality. A total 28 operational taxonomic units(OTUs) had differential relative abundance between samples from ‘big' and ‘small' plants. However, plausible biological explanation was only possible for three fungal OTUs. Two were possible phytopathogens: Verticillium spp. and Alternaria alternata although the latter has never been considered as a main pathogen of strawberry in the UK. For samples from ‘small' plants, the abundance of these OTUs was much greater than from ‘big' plants. The opposite was true for a mycorrhizal OTU. These results suggest that soil microbes related to crop production can be identified using metabarcoding technique. | 6 | Discretely-supported nanoimprint lithography for patterning the high-spatial-frequency stepped surface显示文摘Non-planar morphology is a common feature of devices applied in various physical fields,such as light or fluid,which pose a great challenge for surface nano-patterning to improve their performance.The present study proposes a discretely-supported nanoimprint.lithography(NIL)technique to fabricate nanostructures on the extremely non-planar surface,namely high-spatial-frequency stepped surface.The designed discretely imprinting template implanted a discretely-supported intermediate buffer layer made of sparse pillars arrays.This allowed the simultaneous generation of air-cushion-like buffer and reliable support to the thin structured layer in the template.The resulting low bending stiffness and distributed concentrated load of the template jointly overcome the contact difficulty with a stepped surface,and enable the template to encase the stepped protrusion as tight as possible.Based on the proposed discretely-supported NIL,nanostructures were fabricated on the luminous interface of light emitting diodes chips that covered with micrometer step electrodes pad.About 96%of the utilized indium tin oxide transparent current spreading layer surface on top of the light emitting diode(LED)chips was coated with nanoholes array,with an increase by more than 40%in the optical output power.The excellent ability of nanopatterning a non-planar substrate could potentially lead innovate design and development of high performance device based on discretely-supported NIL. | Chunhui Wang Yu Fan Jinyou Shao Zhengjie Yang Jiaxing Sun Hongmiao Tian Xiangming Li | 2021 | Nano Research2021,14,8: | 1 |
