2Machine learning-based estimates of aboveground biomass of subalpine forests using Landsat 8 OLI and Sentinel-2B images in the Jiuzhaigou National Nature Reserve,Eastern Tibet Plateau显示文摘Accurate estimates of forest aboveground biomass(AGB)are critical for supporting strategies of ecosystem conservation and climate change mitigation.The Jiuzhaigou National Nature Reserve,located in Eastern Tibet Plateau,has rich forest resources on steep slopes and is very sensitive to climate change but plays an important role in the regulation of regional carbon cycles.However,an estimation of AGB of subalpine forests in the Nature Reserve has not been carried out and whether a global biomass model is available has not been determined.To provide this information,Landsat 8 OLI and Sentinel-2B data were combined to estimate subalpine forest AGB using linear regression,and two machine learning approaches–random forest and extreme gradient boosting,with 54 inventory plots.Regardless of forest type,Observed AGB of the Reserve varied from 61.7 to 475.1 Mg hawith an average of 180.6 Mg ha.Results indicate that integrating the Landsat 8 OLI and Sentinel-2B imagery significantly improved model efficiency regardless of modelling approaches.The results highlight a potential way to improve the prediction of forest AGB in mountainous regions.Modelled AGB indicated a strong spatial variability.However,the modelled biomass varied greatly with global biomass products,indicating that global biomass products should be evaluated in regional AGB estimates and more field observations are required,particularly for areas with complex terrain to improve model accuracy.Ke Luo Yufeng Wei Jie Du Liang Liu Xinrui Luo Yuehong Shi Xiangjun Pei Ningfei Lei Ci Song Jingji Li Xiaolu Tang 2022Journal of Forestry Research2022,33,4:2

15Graphene foam/hydrogel scaffolds for regeneration of peripheral nerve using ADSCs in a diabetic mouse model显示文摘The functional recovery of peripheral nerve injury(PNI)is unsatisfactory,whereas diabetes mellitus(DM)and its related complications further attenuate the restoration of diabetic PNI(DPNI).Adipose-derived stem cells(ADSCs)are promising candidates for treatment of DPNI due to their abundant source,excellent differentiation and paracrine ability.Our results showed that ADSCs remarkably enhanced the proliferation and migration of Schwann cells and endothelial cells,and tube formation.Mechanistically,ADSCs could regulate Nrf2/HO-1,NF-κB and PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathways,showing multiple functions in reducing oxidative stress and inflammation,and regulating cell metabolism,growth,survival,proliferation,angiogenesis,differentiation of Schwann cell and myelin formation.In current study,novel graphene foam(GF)/hydrogel-based scaffold was developed to deliver ADSCs for treatment of DPNI.GF/hydrogel scaffold exhibited excellent mechanical strength,suitable porous network,superior electrical conductivity,and good biocompatibility.In vitro results revealed that GF/hydrogel scaffold could obviously accelerate proliferation of Schwann cells.Moreover,in vivo experiments demonstrated that ADSCs-loaded GF/hydrogel scaffold significantly promoted the recovery of DPNI and inhibited the atrophy of targeted muscles,thus providing a novel and attractive therapeutic approach for DPNI patients.Qun Huang Yuting Cai Xinrui Yang Weimin Li Hongji Pu Zhenjing Liu Hongwei Liu Mohsen Tamtaji Feng Xu Liyuan Sheng Tae-Hyung Kim Shiqing Zhao Dazhi Sun Jinbao Qin Zhengtang Luo Xinwu Lu 2022Nano Research2022,15,4:0
16Monocular vision for variable spray control system显示文摘The monocular vision-based system can obtain the leaf wall area characterizing the canopy parameter for online detection and real-time variable spraying,aiming to improve the accuracy of orchard spraying equipment and the utilization efficiency of pesticide.This study established a spraying system,in which canopy parameters were collected by monocular vision,and the spray volume decision coefficient was constructed by the leaf wall area and the L^(*)value in International Commission on Illumination Lab color space to control the duty cycle of each solenoid valve to achieve variable spraying.Four spray flow models were designed to determine the spray volume decision coefficient.The coefficients of determination of the spray volumes with the duty cycle range of 15%to 65%were all over 94 and the error of the leaf wall area values obtained using the improved super green algorithm(calculated as ExG=2.1G–1.1R–1.1B)was only 0.5%.The test showed that there is a negative relationship between canopy denseness and L^(*),and the value of L^(*)is smaller in the dense area compared with the sparse area;the actual flow generated by the system is similar to the theoretical flow when the duty cycle is 65%.The field validation tests showed that the variable spraying system could refine the droplet size and increase the droplet density to a certain extent with the same coverage rate,which had advantages over the continuous spraying.In terms of droplet deposition,DV0.1 and DV0.9 were reduced by 2μm and 18μm,respectively,and the increase of droplet density to 75 droplets/cm2.At the same time,the improvement of droplet distribution uniformity and droplet penetration by 16%and 3%,respectively.Compared with continuous spraying,variable spraying can achieve 55.64%savings.The study demonstrates the feasibility of monocular vision in guiding spraying operations and provides a reference for the use of monocular vision in plant protection operations.Daozong Sun Weikang Liu Runmei Luo Xurui Zhan Zehong Chen Tao Wei Xinrui Wang Xiuyun Xue Zhen Li Shuran Song 2022International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2022,15,6:0
