2An organic junction between the vein and membrane of the dragonfly wing显示文摘A dragonfly wing consists of membranes and both longitudinal and cross veins.We observed the microstructure cross-section at several locations in the dragonfly wing using environmental scanning electron microscopy(ESEM).The organic nature of the junction between the vein and the membrane was clearly identifiable.The membrane was divided into two layers,the upper epidermis and the lower epidermis.These layers extend around the sandwich structure vein,and combine with the adjacent membrane at a symmetrical location along the vein.Thus,we defined this as an organic junction between the vein and the membranes. The organic junction is able to form a tight corrugation angle,which dramatically increases both the warping rigidity and the strength of the wing,but not the torsional rigidity.The torsional deformation is primarily controlled by the microstructure of the longitudinal veins,and is based on the relative rotation angle between the epidermal layer and the inner layer of the vein that forms the zigzag section.CHEN YingLong WANG XiShu REN HuaiHui LI XuDong 2011Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,16:9

4Experimental studies on ozonation of ethylenethiourea显示文摘The experimental study on ozonation of ethylenethiourea(ETU) is conducted.The reaction of gas-phase ETU with 0.63 × 10-6 mol/L ozone is carried out in a 200-L reaction chamber.The secondary organic aerosol(SOA) resulted from the ozonation of gas-phase ETU is observed with a scanning mobility particle size(SMPS).The rapid exponential growth of SOA reveals that the atmospheric lifetime of ETU vapor towards ozone reaction is less than four days.The ozonation of dry ETU particles,ETU-contained water droplets and ETU aqueous solution is investigated with a vacuum ultraviolet photoionization aerosol time-of-flight mass spectrometer(VUVATOFMS).The formation of 2-imidazoline is observed in the ozonation of dry ETU particles and ETU-contained water droplets.The formation of 2-imidazoline and ethylenerea is observed in the ozonation of ETU aqueous solution.Xinyu Dong Junwang Meng Bo Yang Yang Zhang Jie Gan XiShu Jinian Shu 2011Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,1:2

6SEM in-situ investigation on fatigue cracking behavior of P/M Rene95 alloy with surface inclusions显示文摘The low-cycle fatigue behavior of powder metallurgy Rene95 alloy containing surface inclusions was investigated by in-situ observation with scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The process of fatigue crack initiation and early stage of propagation behavior indicates that fatigue crack mainly occurs at the interface between the inclusion and the matrix. The effect of inclusion on the fatigue crack initiation and the early stage of crack growth was very obvious. The fatigue crack growth path in the matrix is similar to the shape of inclusion made on the basis of fatigue fracture image analysis. The empiric relation between the surface and inside crack growth length, near a surface inclusion, can be expressed. Therefore, the fatigue crack growth rate or life of P/M Rene95 alloy including the inclusions can be evaluated on the basis of the measurable surface crack length parameter. 15Climate warming restructures seasonal dynamics of grassland soil microbial communities显示文摘Soil microbial community's responses to climate warming alter the global carbon cycle.In temperate ecosystems,soil microbial communities function along seasonal cycles.However,little is known about how the responses of soil microbial communities to warming vary when the season changes.In this study,we investigated the seasonal dynamics of soil bacterial community under experimental warming in a temperate tall‐grass prairie ecosystem.Our results showed that warming significantly(p=0.001)shifted community structure,such that the differences of microbial communities between warming and control plots increased nonlinearly(R^(2)=0.578,p=0.021)from spring to winter.Also,warming significantly(p<0.050)increased microbial network complexity and robustness,especially during the colder seasons,despite large variations in network size and complexity in different seasons.In addition,the relative importance of stochastic processes in shaping the microbial community decreased by warming in fall and winter but not in spring and summer.Our study indicates that climate warming restructures the seasonal dynamics of soil microbial community in a temperate ecosystem.Such seasonality of microbial responses to warming may enlarge over time and could have significant impacts on the terrestrial carbon cycle.Xue Guo Mengting Yuan Jiesi Lei Zhou Shi Xishu Zhou Jiabao Li Ye Deng Yunfeng Yang Liyou Wu Yiqi Luo James MTiedje Jizhong Zhou 2022mLife2022,1,3:1
