1Improved taboo search algorithm for designing DNA sequences显示文摘The design of DNA sequences is one of the most practical and important research topics in DNA computing. We adopt taboo search algorithm and improve the method for the systematic design of equal-length DNA sequences, which can satisfy certain combinatorial and thermodynamic constraints. 2Effect of Zhuyeshigao granule on tumor necrosis factor-α and inter leukins serum protein levels in rats with radiation esophagitis显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of Zhuyeshigao granule(ZSG) on tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α), interleukin-1(IL-1), IL-2, IL-6, and IL-8 in rats with radiation esophagitis.METHODS: Fifty Wistar rats were randomly divided into five groups(10 rats in each group): control(without radiation), saline-treated, and low,medium, and high-dose ISG-treated groups. Rats were given normal saline(10 mL/kg) or 1.15, 2.3,or 4.6 g/kg ZSG by intragastric administration once a day for 7 days. A rat model of radiation esophagitis was established by local irradiation of Co60(490.25 cGy/min, totaling 30 Gy). The administration of ZSG was continued for another 7 days and on the 7th day post-irradiation, inferior vena cava blood was collected.The serum was separated, and TNF-α, IL-1, IL-2, IL-6, and IL-8 protein levels were determined.RESULTS: Inflammatory response factors were found in the serum of each group. 3Simulated annealing algorithm for detecting graph isomorphism显示文摘Evolutionary computation techniques have mostly been used to solve various optimization problems, and it is well known that graph isomorphism problem (GIP) is a nondeterministic polynomial problem. A simulated annealing (SA) algorithm for detecting graph isomorphism is proposed, and the proposed SA algorithm is well suited to deal with random graphs with large size. To verify the validity of the proposed SA algorithm, simulations are performed on three pairs of small graphs and four pairs of large random graphs with edge densities 0.5, 0.1, and 0.01, respectively. 10A quantitative polymerase chain reaction assay for the enumeration of brown tide algae Aureococcus anophagefferens in coastal waters of Qinhuangdao显示文摘Aureococcus anophagefferens, a small pelagophyte algae, has caused brown tide blooms in coastal waters of Qinhuangdao in recent years, presenting significant negative impacts on the shellfish mariculture industry. Under standard light microscopy, it is visually indistinguishable from other small algae in field samples due to its extremely small size. In this study, quantitative polymerase chain reaction(q PCR) based on 18 S r DNA sequences was developed and used to detect and enumerate A. anophagefferens. A linear regression(R2 = 0.91) was generated based on cycle thresholds value(Ct) versus known concentrations of A. anophagefferens. Twenty-two field samples collected in coastal waters of Qinhuangdao were subjected to DNA extraction and then analyzed using q PCR. Results showed that A. anophagefferens had a wide distribution in coastal waters along Qinhuangdao. Elevated A. anophagefferens abundance, category 3 brown tide blooms(>200 000 cells/m L) occurred at Dongshan Beach and Tiger-stone Beach in August in 2013. In shellfish mariculture areas along coastal waters of Qinhuangdao, 4 stations had category 3 blooms, and 6 stations had category 2 blooms(35 000–200 000 cells/m L) in August and all stations had category 1 blooms(>0 to ≤35 000 cells/m L) in October. 11Multi-objective carrier chaotic evolutionary algorithm for DNA sequences design显示文摘DNA computing is a new vista of computation, which is of biochemical type. Since each piece of information is encoded in biological sequences, their design is crucial for successful DNA computation. DNA sequence design is involved with a number of design criteria, which is difficult to be solved by the traditional optimization methods. In this paper, the multi-objective carrier chaotic evolution algorithm (MCCEA) is introduced to solve the DNA sequence design problem. By merging the chaotic search base on power function carrier, a set of good DNA sequences are generated. 17A 7-year follow-up study of the features and transformations of elderly male patients with OGTT-1h hyperglycemia显示文摘The aim of this paper is to investigate the clin-ical features and transformation of elderly male patients with normal blood glucose levels at fasting and 2 hours after glucose intake but with hyperglycemia(>11.1 mmol/L)1 hour after oral glucose tolerance test(OGTT-1h HG).Seven years of follow-up visits were per-formed on 189 elderly male outpatients with OGTT-1h HG and data was recorded on their body mass index(BMI),blood pressure,serum cholesterol and triglyceride test results and on their glucose tolerance changes every 1–2 years after taking OGTT;their possible causes were analysed.Follow-up visits revealed that 19 patients with OGTT-1h HG were diagnosed with diabetes(10.1%),78 patients with impaired glucose tolerance(IGT,41.3%),2 patients transformed to normal glucose tolerance(NGT,1.1%)and the remaining 90 patients(47.6%)remained unchanged.Synchronized comparison with IGT patients showed that the ratio of OGTT-1h HG patients turning to diabetes was lower than that of IGT patients(21.1%,x2513.05,P,0.01),and the ratio of OGTT-1h HG patients transforming to NGT was slightly higher(0.4%,x252.46,P.0.05).The prevalence of complications of hypertension,coronary heart disease,cerebral vascular diseases and dyslipidemia in patients with OGTT-1h HG were higher than those with NGT(P,0.05)and were similar to that of IGT patients.As a special phenotype of OGTT and as part of an abnormal glucose tolerance con-formation,patients with OGTT-1h HG warrant special attention,since about half of them were found to have developed diabetes or IGT,and their risk of suffering from vascular diseases were also increased.Hui TIAN Changyu PAN Juming LU Chunlin LI Wenwen ZHONG Xiutang CAO 2008Frontiers of Medicine2008,2,4:0
