Collision Tectonics between the Tarim Block(Basin)and the Northwestern Tibet Plateau:New Observations from a Multidisciplinary Geoscientific Investigation in the Western Kunlun Mountains显示文摘New results from deep seismic reflection profiling, wide-angle reflection-refraction profiling and broadband seismic experiments reveal that a series of south-dipping reflectors occur on the southern margin of the Tarim block (basin). However, it is these south-dipping structures that are intercepted by another series of north-dipping reflectors at depths from 30 to about 150 km beneath the foreland of the W Kunlun Mountains. No evidence from the above geophysical data as well as geochemical and surface geological data indicate the southward subduction of the Tarim block beneath the W Kunlun Mountains (NW Tibet plateau), forming the so-called “two-sided subduction” model for the Tibet plateau as proposed by previous studies. So the authors infer that the tectonic interaction between the Tarim block and the W Kunlun block was chiefly affected by a “horizontal compression in opposite directions”, which brought about “face-to-face contact” between these two lithospheric blocks and led to the thickening, shortening and densifying of the lithosphere. Hence a “delamination” was formed due to the gravitational instability created by the thickening and densifying; then alkaline basic volcanic rocks (mainly shoshonite series) was erupted along the northern margin of the Tibet plateau owing to the delamination. This inference for the formation of the alkaline basic volcanics has been confirmed by recent geochemical and petrological studies in Tibet, indicating that different contacts control different magmatic activities: the alkali basalts are always developed in the “horizontal shortening boundary (contact)” on the northern margin of the Tibet plateau, while the muscovite granite and two-mica granite (leucogranite) in the “subductional contact” on the southern margin of the Tibet plateau. | XIAO Xuchang LIU Xun GAO Rui Houn KAO LUO Zhaohua | 2001 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2001,75,2: | 19
Petrological, geochemical and chronological constraints for the tectonic setting of the Dongco ophiolite in Tibet显示文摘The Dongco ophiolite occurred in the middle-western segment of the Bangong-Nujiang suture zone. The thickness of the ophiolite suite is more than 5 km, which is composed, from bottom to top, of the mantle peridotite, mafic-ultramafic cumulates, basic sills (dykes) and basic lava and tectoni- cally emplaced in Jurassic strata (Mugagongru Group). The Dongco cumulates consist of dunite- troctolite-olivine-gabbro, being a part of DTG series of mafic-ultramafic cumulates. The basic lavas are characterized by being rich in alkali (Na2O+ K2O), TiO2, P2O5 and a LREE-rich type pattern dip- ping right with [La/Yb]=6.94―16.6 as well as a trace elements spider-diagram with normal anomaly of Th, Nb, Ta, Hf. Therefore, the Dongco basic lavas belong to ocean-island basalt (OIB) and dis- tinctly differ from mid-ocean ridge basalt (MORB) and island-arc basalt (IAB) formed in the plate convergence margin. The basic lavas have higher 87Sr/86Sr (0.704363―0.705007), lower 143Nd/144Nd (0.512708―0.512887) and εNd(t ) from +2.7―+5.8, indicating that they derive from a two-components mixing mantle source of depleted mantle (DM) and enriched mantle (EMI). From above it is ready to see that the Dongco ophiolite forms in oceanic island (OIB) where the mantle source is replaced by a large amount of enriched material, therefore it distinctly differs from these ophiolites formed in island-arc and mid-oecan ridge. Newly obtained SHRIMP U-Pb dating for zircon of the cumulate troctolite is 132 ± 3 Ma and whole-rock dating of ^(39)Ar/^(40)Ar for the basalt is 173.4 ± 2.7 Ma and 140.9 ± 2.8 Ma, indicating that the Dongco ophiolite formed at Early Cretaceous and the middle-western segment of the Bangong-Nujiang oceanic basin was still in the developing and evolving period at Early Cretaceous. | BAO PeiSheng XIAO XuChang SU Li WANG Jun | 2007 | Science China Earth Sciences2007,50,5: | 16
Petrology, geochemistry and geochronology of the Zhongcang ophiolite, northern Tibet: implications for the evolution of the Bangong-Nujiang Ocean显示文摘Ophiolites are widespread along the Bangong-Nujiang suture zone, northern Tibet. However, it is still debated on the formation ages and tectonic evolution process of these ophiolites. The Zhongcang ophiolite is a typical ophiolite in the western part of the Bangong-Nujiang suture zone. It is composed of serpentinized peridotite, cumulate and isotropic gabbros, massive and pillow basalts, basaltic volcanic breccia, and minor red chert. Zircon SHRIMP Ue Pb dating for the isotropic gabbro yielded weighted mean age of 163.4 ± 1.8 Ma. Positive zircon ε Hf(t) values(+15.0 to +20.2) and mantle-like σ^(18)O values(5.29 ±0.21)% indicate that the isotropic gabbros were derived from a long-term depleted mantle source. The isotropic gabbros have normal mid-ocean ridge basalt(N-MORB) like immobile element patterns with high Mg O, low TiO_2 and moderate rare earth element(REE) abundances, and negative Nb,Ti, Zr and Hf anomalies. Basalts show typical oceanic island basalt(OIB) geochemical features, and they are similar to those of OIB-type rocks of the Early Cretaceous Zhongcang oceanic plateau within the Bangong-Nujiang Ocean. Together with these data, we suggest that the Zhongcang ophiolite was probably formed by the subduction of the Bangong-Nujiang Ocean during the Middle Jurassic. The subduction of the Bangong-Nujiang Tethyan Ocean could begin in the Earlye Middle Jurassic and continue to the Early Cretaceous, and finally continental collision between the Lhasa and Qiangtang terranes at the west Bangong-Nujiang suture zone probably has taken place later than the Early Cretaceous(ca. 110 Ma). | Yue Tang Qingguo Zhai Peiyuan Hu Xuchang Xiao Haitao Wang | 2018 | Geoscience Frontiers2018,9,5: | 9
Hydrodynamic performance and structural response characteristics of the double-slotted vertical cambered V-Type otter board显示文摘Vertical cambered V-type otter boards are widely used in large and medium-sized trawlers for their good stability and adaptability to various water layers. However, limited numerical studies on the hydrodynamic performance and structural strength of this type of otter board have been published. In this study,we established the three-dimensional numerical model of the double-slotted vertical cambered V-type otter board according to its special structure and stress feature. We compare the hydrodynamic performance results of our model with those of previous experiments.Using this model,we analyzed the influence of parameters such as attack angle, aspect ratio, dihedral, and deflector angles on its hydrodynamic performance. Moreover, the structural response characteristics of the otter board under typical working conditions were studied. We believe our results will provide theoretical reference for the structural design and optimization of the vertical cambered V-type otter board. | Wenhua Chu Gang Chen Xuchang Ye Xiufang Cui | 2020 | Aquaculture and Fisheries2020,5,4: | 5
Application of Numerical Simulation for Analysis of Sinking Characteristics of Purse Seine显示文摘This study applies the mass-spring system to model the dynamic behavior of a submerged net panel similar to the shooting process in actual purse seine fishing operation. Modeling indicates that there is insufficient stretching with the net panel under the floatline in the prophase of the shooting process. Sinkers at different locations along the leadline descend successively after submergence, and the sinking speed decreases gradually with elapsed time until attainment of a stable state. Designs with different current speeds and sinker weights are executed to determine the dimensional shape and sinking characteristics of the net. The net rigged with greater sinker weight gains significantly greater sinking depth without water flow. Compared with the vertical spread of the net wall in static water, the middle part of the netting presents a larger displacement along the direction of current under flow condition. It follows that considerable deformation of the netting occurs with higher current speed as the sinkers affected by hydrodynamic force drift in the direction of current. The numerical model is verified by a comparison between simulated results and sea measurements. The calculated values generally coincide with the observed ones, with the former being slightly higher than the latter. This study provides an implicit algorithm which saves computational loads for enormous systems such as purse seines, and ensures the accuracy and stability of numerical solutions in a repetitious iteration process. | ZHOU Cheng XU Liuxiong ZHANG Xinfeng YE Xuchang | 2015 | Journal of Ocean University of China2015,14,1: | 4
The Yadong-Golmud Geoscience Transect in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau显示文摘On the basis of abundant geological and geophysical data. 6 terranes have been distinguished on theQinghai-Tibet Plateau. The plateau is a single integrated lithospheric unit although it is divided into blocks. With Amdo as a boundary. the crust may be divided into two parts with different crustal structures. The struc-ture in the southern part is complex, while that in the northern part is simple. The current study has revealedthat 8 factors such as slab subduction. overthrust and superimposition are responsible for crustal shorteningand thickening in the region. The uplift of this region is possibly due to northward compression of the Indianplate and southward compression of the Eurasian plate with the former predominating. The compression led tothe asthenospheric movements which were also influenced by thermal activity caused by doming at the bound-ary between the core and mantle. | Wu Gongjian Xiao Xuchang Li Tingdong Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, Beijing Jia Zhongpeng | 1990 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)1990,64,2: | 3
The Beila Ophiolite from the Bangong-Nujiang Suture Zone, Northern Tibetan Plateau显示文摘The Beila ophiolite is located in the middle part of the Bangong-Nujiang suture zone, northern Tibetan plateau. It is a complete ophiolite suite, and plays a key role in understanding the evolution of the Bangong-Nujiang suture zone,as well as the Meso-Tethys Ocean. The Beila ophiolite was composed of peridotite, serpentinite, gabbro, pillow basalt, and minor rodingite.Peridotites comprisemainlymedium–tocoarse–grained serpentinized harzburgites and minor plagioclase-bearing lherzolites and dunites. There are some felsic-ultramafic dykes within the peridotite and they are mainlypegmatoidal pyroxenites, coarse to fine-grained gabbros, and diabases.Gabbros included isotropic and cumulate gabbros, and they commonly contain minor pegmatoidal gabbros veins.Pillow basalts and basaltic andesites overlaid on the margin of the serpentinized peridotites.Rodingite occurs as lenses and/or dykes within the host serpentinized peridotites.Zircon SHRIMP U–Pb dating for two rodingite samples yielded the ages ranging from172 to 164 Ma.Whole-rock geochemical and zircon Hf isotopic data show that the Beila ophiolite shows SSZ-type ophiolite affinity. Finally,we suggest that the Beila ophiolite was generated in an initial subduction process at the middle Jurassic(164–172 Ma). | ZHAI Qingguo TANG Yue HU Peiyuan XIAO Xuchang WANG Haitao | 2017 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2017,91,S1: | 2

Polybenzimidazole functionalized electrolyte with Li-wetting and self-fluorination functionalities for practical Li metal batteries显示文摘Rough Li plating, low ionic conductivity, and low thermal stability of conventional electrolytes post-primary challenges for achieving reliable high-capacity rechargeable lithium batteries, for which lithiummetal is frequently proposed as themost promising anode material.Conventional low-polarity commercial polypropylene/polyethylene separators fail to support the application of high-energy-density Li anodes due to their rigid physicochemical properties and the high reactivity of Li metal, leading to fatal dendrite formation and vigorous exothermic reaction with electrolytes.Herein,we develop a Li-wetting,flame-retardant binary polymer electrolyte by functionalizing poly(vinylidene fluoride)(PVDF)separators with nonflammable polybenzimidazole(PBI)to build safe room-temperature solid-state electrolyte membranes.A dendrite-free LiFePO4 cell with the solid polymer electrolyte(SPE)delivers a discharge capacity of 127 mAh g^(-1) at 25℃ with a capacity retention of 87.5%after 500 cycles at 0.5℃(0.15 mA cm^(-2)).Phase-field simulations and density functional theory calculations demonstrate that the negatively charged benzimidazole chains of PBI own superior affinity to lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide(LiTFSI),and shares overlapping electron density with Li anode, giving rise to accelerated Li^(+)conduction at room temperature and uniform Li electrodeposition at the electrolyte/Li metal interface. The SPE is also flame-retardant since heat-resistant polytetrafluoroethylene and a dense,heat-blocking graphitized carbon layer are formed in intense heat throughdehydrogenation/fluorination of PVDF under the catalysis of Lewis base imidazole rings and the decomposition of benzimidazole rings in PBI.No such fire-resistant mechanism is ever reported in conventional electrolytes. | Dongjiang Chen Yuanpeng Liu Chuan Xia Yupei Han Qingwei Sun Xuchang Wang Wei Chen Xian Jian Weiqiang Lv Jianyi Ma Weidong He | 2022 | InfoMat2022,4,5: | 1
