1Centro-parietal N200: An event-related potential component specific to Chinese visual word recognition显示文摘Almost all written languages currently used in the world are alphabetic or phonologically-based scripts (e.g., English) whose word recognition involves discrimination of one-dimensional linear combinations of several dozens of letters or phonological units, except written Chinese whose vocabulary consists of a large number of block characters, the analysis of which relies on the extraction of 2-dimensional form information at multiple levels including radical, character, and multiple-character word. Whether the dramatic contrast between the 2 types of orthography leads to distinctive mental processes is a fundamental question in psycholinguistic research unanswered in the past three decades. Using event-related potentials and visual lexical decision tasks, we asked native Chinese speakers to discriminate between real Chinese words and pseudoor non-words and observed a widespread negative deflection with centro-parietal focus elicited 200 ms post-stimulus onset. This N200 response showed a clear and large amplitude enhancement upon word repetition and seems to be specific to Chinese as no similar effects had been reported in word recognition studies involving alphabetic scripts under similar experimental conditions. Further evidence showed that this N200 could not be attributed to non-linguistic sensori-perceptual processes, nor phonological or semantic processes, but likely reflects very early identification of the orthography of individual words involving extensive and higher-level visual analysis. Recently the first author proposed a meaning-spelling theory of written Chinese vocabulary proposing that the Chinese and alphabetic scripts are the only 2 possible logical types of mature human writing systems, and that the former is more thoroughly a visual language compared with the latter and thus shall emphasize more of visual processing. 6MoNi_(4)-NiO heterojunction encapsulated in lignin-derived carbon for efficient hydrogen evolution reaction显示文摘Molybdenum nickel alloy has been proved to be an efficient noble-metal-free catalyst for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER) in alkaline medium, but its electrocatalytic activity and stability need to be further improved to meet industrial requirements. In this study, carboxymethylated enzymatic hydrolysis lignin(EHL) was used as a biomacromolecule frame to coordinate with transition metal ions and reduced by pyrolysis to obtain the MoNi_(4)-NiO heterojunction(MoNi_(4)-NiO/C). The oblate sphere structure of MoNi_(4)-NiO/C exposed a large catalytic active surface to the electrolyte. As a result, the hydrogen evolution reaction of MoNi_(4)-NiO/C displayed a low overpotentials of 41 mV to achieve 10 mA cm-2and excellent stability of 100 h at 100 mA cm^(-2)in 1 mol L^(-1)KOH, which was superior to that of commercial Pt/C. Lignin assisted the formation of NiO to construct the MoNi_(4)-NiO interface and MoNi_(4)-NiO heterojunction structure, which reduced the energy barrier by forming a more favorable transition states and then promoted the formation of adsorbed hydrogen at the heterojunction interface through water dissociation in alkaline media, leading to the rapid reaction kinetics. 8Alterations in gut microbiota and physiological factors associated with abdominal aortic aneurysm显示文摘Abdominal aortic aneurysm(AAA)is a progressive focal dilatation and weakening of the abdominal aorta,causing 1.3%of all deaths among men aged 65–85 years worldwide.The formation of AAA is a complex process with multiple risk factors.Therefore,this study aimed to determine the relationship of disease severity and physiological factors,and gut microbiota structures in AAA patients.Physiological indicators and fecal 16S rRNA gene sequences from healthy controls and patients with AAA were collected.The correlations between the diameter of the AAA and clinical parameters,and gut microbiota composition were then analyzed separately using multivariable analysis.The diameter of AAA was extremely positively correlated with smoking index,alkaline phosphatase,blood glucose,and blood triglycerides and negatively correlated with prealbumin and Cystatin C.As the diameter of AAA increased,the α-diversity,including Chao 1,Shannon,and Simpson indices,of the gut microbiota decreased and presented a negative linear relationship.Patients with AAA with more severe disease had significantly increased relative abundance of Enterobacteriaceae and decreased relative abundance of Veillonellaceae.A strong correlation was observed between the diameter and physiological data,as well as between diameter and gut microbiota composition.This study could improve the understanding of AAA,and gut microbiota may be a potential target to prevent and treat this deadly disease.Kun Zhang Shiwei Yang Yingchun Huang Xian Qin Kai Qu Yidan Chen Lizhao Chen Juhui Qiu Yingxue Hao Guixue Wang 2022Medicine in Novel Technology and Devices2022,,2:0

11Regulating single-atom Mn sites by precisely axial pyridinic-nitrogen coordination to stabilize the oxygen reduction显示文摘Designing single-atom catalysts for oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)are fashionable but challenging to boost the zinc-air battery performance.Significantly enhanced ORR activity by manganese(Mn)singleatom catalysts can be achieved by accurately regulating the coordination number of isolated Mn atoms.Theoretical calculations indicate that the single Mn-N5sites possess lower free energy barrier and higher oxygen adsorption performance than single Mn-N4sites to accelerate the ORR kinetics.Target to it,here we synthesize an atomically dispersed Mn-N5catalyst by precisely axial coordination of pyridinic-N doped into two-dimensional(2D)porous nanocarbon sheets(~3.56 nm thickness),which reveals outstanding catalytic activity and ultrahigh stability for the ORR in zinc-air battery owing to the inhomogeneous charge distribution of Mn-N5sites compared to the conventional single-site Mn-N4catalyst and Pt/C.This work gives a new strategy for in situ regulating the electronic structure of metal single-atoms and further promoting the overall ORR performance in energy systems.Yuan Qin Chaozhong Guo Zihao Ou Chuanlan Xu Qi Lan Rong Jin Yao Liu Yingchun Niu Quan Xu Yujun Si Honglin Li 2023Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,5:0
