| 2 | Modeling the oxidative coupling of methane: Heterogeneous chemistry coupled with 3D flow field simulation显示文摘The oxidative coupling of methane (OCM) over titanate perovskite catalyst has been developed by three-dimensional numerical simulations of flow field coupled with heat transfer as well as heterogeneous kinetic model. The reaction was assumed to take place both in the gas phase and on the catalytic surface. Kinetic rate constants were experimentally obtained using a ten step kinetic model. The simulation results agree quite well with the data of OCM experiments, which were used to investigate the effect of temperature on the selectivity and conversion obtained in the methane oxidative coupling process. The conversion of methane linearly increased with temperature and the selectivity of C2 was practically constant in the temperature range of 973–1073 K. | 14 | CFD modeling of reaction and mass transfer through a single pellet: Catalytic oxidative coupling of methane显示文摘In this study a mathematical model of a small scale single pellet for the oxidative coupling of methane(OCM)over titanite pervoskite is developed.The method is based on a computational fluid dynamics(CFD)code which known as Fluent may be adopted to model the reactions that take place inside the porous catalyst pellet.The steady state single pellet model is coupled with a kinetic model and the intra-pellet concentration profiles of species are provided.Subsequent to achieving this goal,a nonlinear reaction network consisting of nine catalytic reactions and one gas phase reaction as an external program is successfully implemented to CFD-code as a reaction term in solving the equations.This study is based on the experimental design which is conducted in a differential reactor with a Sn/BaTiO3 catalyst(7-8 mesh) at atmospheric pressure,GHSV of 12000 h-1,ratio of methane to oxygen of 2,and three different temperatures of 1023,1048 and 1073 K.The modeling results such as selectivity and conversion at the pellet exit are in good agreement with the experimental data.Therefore,it is suggested that to achieve high yield in OCM process the modeling of the single pellet should be considered as the heart of catalytic fixed bed reactor. | Siavash Seyednejadian Nakisa Yaghobi Ramin Maghrebi Leila Vafajoo | 2011 | Journal of Natural Gas Chemistry2011,20,4: | 1 |

| 16 | Designing paste thickeners for copper flotation tailings,using bed depth scale-up factor显示文摘Aim:The paste thickener could increase the water recovery and reduce the environmental impacts in tailings dam.The present work aimed to find the appropriate scale-up factor for bed depth to design paste thickener for copper tailings,using a lab glass cylinder and an operating pilot column.The thickening tests were carried out on the flotation tailing samples obtained from the Sarcheshmeh and Miduk copper mines located in Iran.Based on the industrial conditions,the values of influential parameters for paste thickener used in these experiments were pH=11 and feed solid=10%.Flocculant type was NF43U and used as 25g/t with dosage of 0.25 g/lit.The unit area of Sarcheshmeh and Miduk paste thickeners were designed as 0.057 and 0.047m2/t/day,respectively.Based on the dry feed rates to each paste thickener as 7920 and 4320 t/day,the thickener's diameters were determined as 23.9 and 16.1 meters which are similar to the actual thickener’s diameters(24 and 16 meters),respectively.In addition to unit area,the bed depth is also important in the paste thickeners design.Hence,the ratio of industrial to lab unit bed volume for Sarcheshmeh paste thickener was obtained 75 which was equal to the ratio of industrial to lab bed depth(bed depth scale-up factor exclusively for copper flotation tailings).This procedure was validated by using the Miduk sample.The bed depth in the paste thickeners was determined as 7.5 meters,by using the bed depth scale-up factor which was comparable to the actual bed depth(8 meters).This research confirmed that the bed depth scale-up factor is able to correctly determine the bed depth of industrial paste thickeners for copper tailings. | Majid Unesi Mohammad Noaparast Sied Ziaedin Shafaei Esmaeil Jorjani Mahdi Yaghobi Moghaddam Hadi Abdollahi | 2018 | Nanoscience & Nanotechnology2018,2,1: | 1 |

| 20 | CFD modeling of catalyst pellet for oxidative coupling of methane:Heat transfer and reaction显示文摘This study deals with the phenomena occuring at single-pellet catalyst scale for the oxidative coupling of methane where heat transfer plays an important role.Computational fluid dynamics(CFD) is used for obtaining detailed rate and temperature profiles through the porous catalytic pellet where reaction and diffusion compete.Intra-particle temperature and concentration gradients were taken into account by solving heat transfer coupled with continuity equations in the catalyst pellet.In heat transfer,the energy term due to highly exothermic reaction was considered.Two external programs were successfully implemented into the CFD-code as kinetic and heat of reaction terms.Simulation results showed that reaction was favored at the beginning for the pellet,followed by diffusion predomination.The results of CFD simulation indicate that temperature variation within the catalyst pellet is <2K due to exothermic oxidation.The results showed further that exothermic oxidation reactions occurred prior to endothermic coupling reaction in the pellet. | Ramin Maghrebi Nakisa Yaghobi Siavash Seyednejadian Mitra H.Tabatabaei | 2013 | Particuology2013,11,5: | 1 |
