1Loose architecture of multi-level massive geospatial data based on virtual quadtree显示文摘This paper proposed a virtual quadtree (VQT) based loose architecture of multi-level massive geospatial data for integrating massive geospatial data dispersed in the departments of different hierarchies in the same sector into a unified GIS (Geographic Information System) platform. By virtualizing the nodes of the quad-tree,the VQT separates the structure of data organization from data storage,and screens the difference between the data storage in local computer and in the re-mote computers in network environment. And by mounting,VQT easily integrates the data from the remote computers into the local VQT so as to implement seam-less integration of distributed multi-level massive geospatial data. Based on that mode,the paper built an application system with geospatial data over 1200 GB distributed in 12 servers deployed in 12 cities. 2Parallel algorithm for viewshed analysis on a modern GPU显示文摘Spatial analysis,including viewshed analysis,is an important aspect of the Digital Earth system.Viewshed analysis is usually performed on a large scale,so efficiency is important in any Digital Earth application making these calculations.In this paper,a real-time algorithm for viewshed analysis in 3D scenes is presented by using the parallel computing capabilities of a graphics processing unit(GPU).In contrast to traditional algorithms based on line-of-sight,this algorithm runs completely within the programmable 3D visualization pipeline to render 3D terrains with viewshed analysis.The most important difference is its integration of the viewshed calculation with the rendering module.Invisible areas are rendered as shadows in the 3D scene.The algorithm process is paralleled by rasterizer units in the graphics card and by vertex and pixel shaders executed on the GPU.We have implemented this method in our 3D Digital Earth system with the DirectX 9.0c API and tested on some consumer-level PC platforms with interactive framerates and high image quality.Our algorithm has been widely used in related systems based on Digital Earth.Fang Chao Yang Chongjun Chen Zhuo Yao Xiaojing Guo Hantao 2011International Journal of Digital Earth2011,4,6:4

4Pd films on soft substrates:a visual,high-contrast and low-cost optical hydrogen sensor显示文摘For the rapid development of the hydrogen economy,a reliable and low-cost hydrogen sensor appears to be extremely important.Here,we first show that a palladium film deposited on polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)can obtain an exceedingly high-reflectance contrast of 25.78 over the entire visible band upon exposure to 4 vol% hydrogen gas(H2)mixed with nitrogen gas.This high-reflectance contrast results from the surface deformation induced by the volume inflation after exposure to H2,leading to the transition of the near-specular surface to a diffusing surface.In addition,a change in brightness is readable by naked eye upon exposure to H2 with various concentrations from 0.6 to 1 vol% under the illumination of a fluorescent tube.Furthermore,this sensor possesses an excellent recyclability and quick response time of a few seconds.Compared with Pd nanostructure-based hydrogen sensors,this visual,high-contrast and low-cost sensor is of great potential for practical hydrogen sensing.Xiaoyi She Yang Shen Jianfang Wang Chongjun Jin 2019Light(Science & Applications)2019,8,1:2

11An address regional tessellation method for spatial subdivision and geocoding in digital earth system显示文摘With the increased use of locational information,spatial location referencing and coding methods have become much more important to the mining of both geographical and nongeographical data in digital earth system.Unfortunately,current methods of geocoding,based on reverse lookup of coordinates for a given address,have proven too lossy with respect to administrative and socioeconomic data.This paper proposes a spatial subdivision and geocoding model based on spatial address regional tessellation(SART).Given a hierarchical address object definition,and based on the‘region of influence’characteristics of an address,SART creates multiresolution spatial subdivisions by irregular and continuous address regions.This model reflects most of the geographical features and many of the social and economic implications for a given address.It also better reflects the way people understand addresses and spatial locations.We also propose an appropriate method of geocoding for standard addresses(SART-GC).The codes generated by this method can record address footprints,hierarchical relationships,and spatial scales in a single data structure.Finally,by applying our methods to the Shibei District of Qingdao,we demonstrate the suitability of SART-GC for multi-scale spatial information representation in digital earth systems.Tan Ningsheng Yang Chongjun Yang LiuZhong Liu Yuan 2015International Journal of Digital Earth2015,8,10:0
