3Hydrogen sulfide promotes flowering in heading Chinese cabbage by S-sulfhydration of BraFLCs显示文摘Heading Chinese cabbage(Brassica rapa L.syn.B.campestris L.ssp.chinensis Makino var.pekinensis(Rupr.)J.Cao et Sh.Cao)is a cruciferous Brassica vegetable that has a triplicate genome,owing to an ancient genome duplication event.It is unclear whether the duplicated homologs have conserved or diversi fied functions.Hydrogen sulfide(H_(2)S)is a plant gasotransmitter that plays important physiological roles in growth,development,and responses to environmental stresses.The modification of cysteines through S-sulfhydration is an important mechanism of H_(2)S,which regulates protein functions.H?S promotes flowering in Arabidopsis and heading Chinese cabbage.Here we investigated the molecular mechanisms of H_(2)S used to promote flowering in the latter.Four,five,and four BraFLC,BraSOC I,and BraFT homologs were identi fi ed in heading Chinese cabbage.Different BraFLC proteins were bound to different CArG boxes in the promoter regions of the BraSOC I and BraFT homologs,producing different binding patterns.Thus,there may be functionally diverse BraFLC homologs in heading Chinese cabbage.Exogenous H_(2)S at 100μmol L^(-1) significantly promoted flowering by compensating for insuf fi cient vernalization.BraFLC 1 and BraFLC_(3) underwent S-sulfhydration by H_(2)S,after which their abilities to bind most BraSOC I or BraFT promoter probes weakened or even disappeared.These changes in binding ability were consistent with the expression pattern of the BraFT and BraSOC I homologs in seedlings treated with H_(2)S.These results indicated that H_(2)S signaling regulates flowering time.In summary,H_(2)S signaling promoted plant flowering by weakening or eliminating the binding abilities of BraFLCs to downstream promoters through S-sulfhydration.Xiaoli Ma Liping Zhang Zhuoya Pei Linlin Zhang Zhiqiang Liu Danmei Liu Xuefeng Hao Zhuping Jin Yanxi Pei 2021Horticulture Research2021,8,1:6
4Online Monitoring of Welding Status Based on a DBN Model During Laser Welding显示文摘In this research,an auxiliary illumination visual sensor system,an ultraviolet/visible(UVV)band visual sensor system(with a wavelength less than 780 nm),a spectrometer,and a photodiode are employed to capture insights into the high-power disc laser welding process.The features of the visible optical light signal and the reflected laser light signal are extracted by decomposing the original signal captured by the photodiode via the wavelet packet decomposition(WPD)method.The captured signals of the spectrometer mainly have a wavelength of 400-900 nm,and are divided into 25 sub-bands to extract the spectrum features by statistical methods.The features of the plume and spatters are acquired by images captured by the UVV visual sensor system,and the features of the keyhole are extracted from images captured by the auxiliary illumination visual sensor system.Based on these real-time quantized features of the welding process,a deep belief network(DBN)is established to monitor the welding status.A genetic algorithm is applied to optimize the parameters of the proposed DBN model.The established DBN model shows higher accuracy and robustness in monitoring welding status in comparison with a traditional back-propagation neural network(BPNN)model.The effectiveness and generalization ability of the proposed DBN are validated by three additional experiments with different welding parameters.Yanxi Zhang Deyong You Xiangdong Gao Seiji Katayama 2019Engineering2019,5,4:5
5Construction of piezoelectric BaTiO_(3)/MoS_(2) heterojunction for boosting piezo-activation of peroxymonosulfate显示文摘The rapid recombination of charge carriers in piezoelectric materials has always been the problem that limits their piezoelectric performance for removal of organic pollutants in water.Herein,we construct a piezoelectric Ba TiO_(3)/MoS_(2)(BTO/MS)that follows a type II heterojunction charge transfer system to inhibit the recombination of electron-hole(e^(-)-h^(+))pairs,which is beneficial to the activation of peroxymonosulfate(PMS)for the removal of antibiotic ornidazole(ORZ)pollutants.The optimal ratio of BTO/MS for ORZ degradation under the piezo/PMS process is 13.9,3.6,62.1 and 2.0 times higher than that of the BTO/piezo,MS/piezo,(BTO/MS)/PMS and(BTO/MS)/piezo processes,respectively.The high efficiency charge separation in the piezoelectric heterojunction of BTO/MS promotes the activation of PMS,resulting in the synergy of pizeocatalysis and PMS oxidation during the process of ORZ degradation.This study provides an idea for enhancing piezo-activation of PMS by constructing heterojunctions in piezoelectric materials.Yanxi Chen Shenyu Lan Mingshan Zhu 2021Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,6:5
6Hydrogen sulfide inhibits ethylene-induced petiole abscission in tomato(Solanum lycopersicum L.)显示文摘Abscission is a dynamic physiological process that is ubiquitous in plants and can also be an essential agronomic trait in crops,thus attracting attention from plant growers and breeders.In general,the process of plant organ abscission can be divided into four steps,among which the step to obtain the competence to respond to abscission signals(step 2)is the most complex;however,the molecular mechanism underlying this process remains unclear.In this study,we found that hydrogen sulfide(H_(2)S)inhibited the abscission of the tomato petiole in a dose-dependent manner,and the abscission of the petiole was accelerated when an H_(2)S scavenger was applied.Further enzymatic activity and gene expression analyses showed that H_(2)S suppressed the activity of enzymes capable of modifying the cell wall by inhibiting the usual upregulation of the transcription of the corresponding genes during the abscission process but not by affecting the activities of these enzymes by direct posttranslational modification.H_(2)S treatment upregulated the expression levels of SlIAA3 and SlIAA4 but downregulated the transcription of ILR-L3 and ILR-L4 in the earlier stages of the abscission process,indicating that H_(2)S probably functioned in the second step of the abscission process by preventing the abscission zone cells from obtaining the competence to respond to abscission signals by modulating the content of the bioactive-free auxin in these cells.Moreover,similar H_(2)S inhibitory effects were also demonstrated in the process of floral organ abscission and anther dehiscence in other plant species,suggesting a ubiquitous role for H_(2)S in cell separation processes.Danmei Liu Jianing Li Zhuowen Li Yanxi Pei 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:4
7Depressing effect of sodium hexametaphosphate on apatite in flotation of rutile显示文摘The separation of rutile from apatite by flotation and the mechanism of depressing the apatite of sodium hexametaphosphate were studied. The results showed that rutile and apatite could be separated by using alkyl-imino-bismethylene phosphoric acid and sodium hexametaphosphate as a collector and a regulator, respectively. 9Preparation and luminescence properties of Y_2O_3:Er^(3+) /TiO_2 with high specific surface area显示文摘The three composites Y2O3 :Er3+ , Y2O3 :Er3+ /Yb 3+ andY2O3 :Er3+ /TiO2 were prepared using coprecipitation and sol-gel techniques. Their morphology, specific surface area, porosity, UV-vis. absorption spectra and fluorescence spectra were measured using SEM, TEM, surface analysis, UV-vis. absorption and photoluminescence spectrophotometry. SEM and TEM showed that samples prepared using coprecipitation were dispersed, while Y2O3 :Er3+ /TiO2 particles possessed a mesoporous surface and average diameter of about 10 nm. The specific surface area and porosity of Y2O3 :Er3+ /TiO2 did not result from the combination of the individual properties of Y2O3 :Er3+ and TiO2 . The specific surface area of Y2O3 :Er3+ /TiO2 was 135.991 m 2 /g and was 4.8 times that of Y2O3 :Er3+ and 2.5 times that of Degussa P25 TiO2 . A high specific surface area is conducive for application to TiO2 photocatalysis. 10Nickel catalysts supported on MgO with different specific surface area for carbon dioxide reforming of methane显示文摘In this paper, three kinds of MgO with different specific surface area were prepared, and their effects on the catalytic performance of nickel catalysts for the carbon dioxide reforming of methane were investigated. The results showed that MgO support with the higher specific surface area led to the higher dispersion of the active metal, which resulted in the higher initial activity. On the other hand, the specific surface area of MgO materials might not be the dominant factor for the basicity of support to chemisorb and activate CO2, which was another important factor for the performance of catalysts. 11Growth and sustainability of Suaeda salsa in the Lop Nur,China显示文摘Extremely saline soils are very harsh environments for the growth and survival of most plant species, however, halophytes can grow well. The underlying mechanism of halophyte to resist high saline is not well understood by us. This study was conducted at the potash mine near the Lop Nur, China, where the effects of the halophyte Suaeda salsa L. on the saline-alkaline soils and its growth and sustainability were investigated. Four plots(in which the salt encrustation layers were removed), with different soil treatments were evaluated:(1) undisturbed soil, with no additional treatment(T1);(2) the slag soil zone, in which a 40-cm layer of slag was placed on the undisturbed soil surface(T2);(3) slag+sandy soil, in which a 20-cm layer of slag was placed in the lower layer and 20 cm of sandy soil, taken from an area about 70 km away from Lop Nur potash mine, where Tamarix species were growing, was placed in the upper layer(T3); and(4) a 40-cm sandy soil layer taken from the area where Tamarix species were growing was placed on undisturbed soil(T4). Soil nutrient contents increased in the four treatments, but salt content only decreased in the T1 treatment. Salt content in the T4 treatment increased over the two-year period, which may be partly attributed to salt deposition from wind-blown dust within the mine and salt accumulation within the surface soil(0–20 cm) in response to high evaporative demands. The S. salsa plants exhibited greater improvements in growth under the T4 treatment than under the T1, T2, and T3 treatments, which demonstrated that low levels of salinity are beneficial for the growth of this species. The T1 treatment was sustainable because of its low cost and superior soil improvement characteristics. 12The green-emitting fluorescence of nano Y_2O_3:Er^(3+) under different excitations显示文摘The green-emitting fluorescent powders of nano Y2O3:Er3+ were fabricated by the coprecipitation method. The X-ray diffraction pattern shows that as-prepared Y2O3:Er3+ is the cubic phase crystal with a grain size of about 30 nm. The UV-Vis spectrum indicates Y2O3:Er3+ exhibits five ultraviolet visible absorption peaks at 365, 377, 489, 521 and 652 nm respectively. Meanwhile, the fluorescence spectra of Y2O3:Er3+ display four emission peaks at 522, 537, 550 and 562 nm at the excitation of 365, 377 and 521 nm, respectively. The green-emitting fluorescent mechanism of Y2O3:Er3+ is proposed as well. Additionally, the temperature dependence of fluorescence properties and metal Ag fluorescence enhancement effect are investigated. Results show that increasing the annealing temperature and metal Ag doping both can enhance the fluorescence intensity. 15A Convenient and Biosafe Replicon with Accessory Genes of SARS-CoV-2 and Its Potential Application in Antiviral Drug Discovery显示文摘SARS-CoV-2 causes the pandemic of COVID-19 and no effective drugs for this disease are available thus far.Due to the high infectivity and pathogenicity of this virus,all studies on the live virus are strictly confined in the biosafety level 3(BSL3)laboratory but this would hinder the basic research and antiviral drug development of SARS-CoV-2 because the BSL3 facility is not commonly available and the work in the containment is costly and laborious.In this study,we constructed a reverse genetics system of SARS-CoV-2 by assembling the viral cDNA in a bacterial artificial chromosome(BAC)vector with deletion of the spike(S)gene.Transfection of the cDNA into cells results in the production of an RNA replicon that keeps the capability of genome or subgenome replication but is deficient in virion assembly and infection due to the absence of S protein.Therefore,such a replicon system is not infectious and can be used in ordinary biological laboratories.We confirmed the efficient replication of the replicon by demonstrating the expression of the subgenomic RNAs which have similar profiles to the wild-type virus.By mutational analysis of nsp12 and nsp14,we showed that the RNA polymerase,exonuclease,and cap N7 methyltransferase play essential roles in genome replication and sgRNA production.We also created a SARS-CoV-2 replicon carrying a luciferase reporter gene and this system was validated by the inhibition assays with known anti-SARS-CoV-2 inhibitors.Thus,such a one-plasmid system is biosafe and convenient to use,which will benefit both fundamental research and development of antiviral drugs.Yun-Yun Jin Hanwen Lin Liu Cao Wei-Chen Wu Yanxi Ji Liubing Du Yiling Jiang Yanchun Xie Kuijie Tong Fan Xing Fuxiang Zheng Mang Shi Ji-An Pan Xiaoxue Peng Deyin Guo 2021Virologica Sinica2021,36,5:2
16Impacts of climate warming and crop management on maize phenology in northern China显示文摘Climate warming has and will continue to exert a significantly impact on crop phenology in the past and coming decades.Combining observed data of phenology and a crop growth model provides a good approach for quantitating the effects of climate warming and crop management on crop phenology.The purpose of this study is to determine the impacts of temperature change, sowing date(SD) adjustment and cultivar shift on maize phenology in northern China during 1981–2010.Results indicated that climate warming caused anthesis date(AD) and maturity date(MD) of maize to advance by 0.2-5.5 and 0.6-11.1 d/10 a, respectively.Due to climate-driven changes in maize phenology, three growth periods of maize, i.e., vegetative growth period(VGP;from sowing to anthesis), reproductive growth period(RGP;from anthesis to maturity) and whole growth period(WGP;from sowing to maturity) shortened by 0.2-5.5, 0.4-5.6 and 0.6-11.1 d/10 a, respectively.With SD adjustment(i.e., SD advancement), AD and MD occurred early by 0.5-2.6 and 0.1-3.4 d/10 a, respectively.SD adjustment caused duration of VGP of maize to prolong.However, duration of RGP slightly shortened by 0.1-1.3 d/10 a.Furthermore, due to cultivar shift, MD of maize significantly delayed by 4.9-12.2 d/10 a.Durations of VGP, RGP and WGP of maize prolonged by 0.2-4.1, 1.6-8.4 and 4.3-11.8 d/10 a, respectively.In conclusion, our results indicated that cultivar shift, to some extent, could mitigate the negative impact of climate warming on maize phenology.XIAO Dengpan ZHAO Yanxi BAI Huizi HU Yukun CAO Jiansheng 2019Journal of Arid Land2019,11,6:2
