| 4 | Restoration of rat calvarial defects by poly(lactide-co-glycolide)/hydroxyapatite scaffolds loaded with bone mesenchymal stem cells and DNA complexes显示文摘A composite construct comprising of a bone mesenchymal stem cell (BMSC) sheet, plasmid DNA, encoding human bone morphogenic protein-2 (hBMP-2), and poly(lactide-co-glycolide)/hydroxyapatite (PLGA/HA) sponge was designed and employed in the restoration of rat calvarial defects. To improve gene transfection efficiency, a cationic chitosan derivative, N,N,N,-trimethyl chitosan chloride (TMC), was employed as the vector. The TMC/DNA complexes had a transfection efficiency of 13% in rat BMSCs, resulting in heterogeneous hBMP-2 expression in a 10-d culture period in vitro. In vivo culture of the composite constructs was performed by implantation into rat full-thickness calvarial defects, using constructs lacking pDNA-hBMP-2 or BMSC sheets as controls. Significantly higher heterogeneous expression of hBMP-2 was detected in vivo at 2 weeks for the cell sheet/DNA complex/scaffold constructs, compared with the constructs lacking pDNA-hBMP-2 or BMSC sheets. New bone formation was evident as early as 4 weeks in the experimental constructs. At 8 weeks, partial bridging of calvarial defects was observed in the experimental constructs, which was significantly better than the constructs lacking pDNA-hBMP-2 or BMSC sheets. | 6 | Uric acid lowering effect of Tibetan Medicine RuPeng15 powder in animal models of hyperuricemia显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the influence of the Tibetan medicine Ru Peng15 powder(RPP15) on uric acid levels, and explore its possible mechanisms of action in hyperuricemic animal models.METHODS: Hyperuricemic mice were generated by orally administering yeast extract paste twice daily(30 g/kg) for 8 days, to mimic human hyperuricemia induced by high-protein diets. Hyperuricemic rats were generated by intraperitoneal injection of 250 mg/kg potassium oxonate to each animal 1 h before the last oral administration of test compounds, which raised the serum uric acid level by inhibiting the decomposition of uric acid. Levels of uric acid and creatinine in serum and urine were detected by the phosphotungstic acid and picric acid methods respectively, and the activity of xanthine oxidase(XOD) was assayed using a commercial test kit.RESULTS: RPP15(0.4, 0.8, 1.2 g/kg) significantly decreased the level of serum uric acid in healthy rats(P < 0.05). Furthermore, hyperuricemic rats treated with RPP15(0.4, 0.8, 1.2 g/kg) had lower serum uric acid levels(P < 0.05), accompanied by lower urine uric acid(P < 0.05). | 7 | Intensifying Electron Utilization by Surface-Anchored Rh Complex for Enhanced Nicotinamide Cofactor Regeneration and Photoenzymatic CO_(2)Reduction显示文摘Solar-driven photocatalytic regeneration of cofactors,including reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide(NADH),reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate(NADPH),and reduced flavin adenine dinucleotide(FADH_(2)),could ensure the sustainable energy supply of enzymatic reactions catalyzed by oxidoreductases for the efficient synthesis of chemicals.However,the elevation of cofactor regeneration efficiency is severely hindered by the inefficient utilization of electrons transferred on the surface of photocatalysts.Inspired by the phenomenon of ferredoxin-NADP+reductase(FNR)anchoring on thylakoid membrane,herein,a homogeneous catalyst of rhodium(Rh)complex,[Cp_(∗)Rh(bpy)H_(2)O]^(2+),was anchored on polymeric carbon nitride(PCN)mediated by a tannic acid/polyethyleneimine(TA/PEI)adhesive layer,acquiring PCN@TA/PEI-Rh core@shell photocatalyst.Illuminated by visible light,electrons were excited from the PCN core,then transferred through the TA/PEI shell,and finally captured by the surface-anchored Rh for instant utilization during the regeneration of NADH.The TA/PEI-Rh shell could facilitate the electron transfer from the PCN core and,more importantly,achieved~1.3-fold elevation of electron utilization efficiency compared with PCN.Accordingly,the PCN@TA/PEI-Rh afforded the NADH regeneration efficiency of 37.8%after 20 min reaction under LED light(405 nm)illumination,over 1.5 times higher than PCN with free Rh.Coupling of the NADH regeneration system with formate dehydrogenase achieved continuous production of formate from carbon dioxide(CO_(2)).Our study may provide a generic and effective strategy to elevate the catalytic efficiency of a photocatalyst through intensifying the electron utilization. | Yuqing Cheng Jiafu Shi Yizhou Wu Xueying Wang Yiying Sun Ziyi Cai Yu Chen Zhongyi Jiang | 2021 | Research2021,,1: | 5 |
| 8 | The Lanshantou Kyanite-bearing Eclogite with Coesite Inclusions in the Sulu Ultrahigh-Pressure Metamorphic Belt and Its PTt Path显示文摘Coesite inclusions are found in kyanite from the Lanshantoueclogite in the Sulu ultrahigh-pressure (UHP) metamorphic belt. This discovery extends the stable region of kyanite to over 2.4 GPa. As an important UHP metamorphic belt in China, the Sulu eclogite belt is the product of A-subduction induced by strong compression of the Yellow Sea terrane to the Jiaodong-northereastem Jiangsu terrane during the interaction of the Eurasian plate and Palaeo-Pacific plate in the Indosinian. It stretches about 350 km and contains over 1000 eclogite bodies. Most eclogites in this belt belong to Groups B and C in the classification of Coleman et al., and commonly contain kyanite, while the Lanshantou eclogite belongs to Group A and contains coesite. | 9 | The five major autoimmune diseases increase the risk of cancer:epidemiological data froma large-scale cohort study in China显示文摘Background:Cancer incidence and mortality have received critical attention during the long-term management of morbidities in patients with autoimmune diseases(AIDs).This study aimed to investigate and compare the risk of cancer associated with five major AIDs in a large-scale Chinese cohort.Methods:A total of 8,120 AID patients consecutively admitted to a national tertiary referral center in China were included and followed-up for 38,726.55 patient-years,including those with systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE),rheumatoid arthritis(RA),Sjoren’s syndrome(SS),systemic scleroderma(SSc),and idiopathic inflammatory myositis(IIM).Demographic data,cancer incidence,predilecting sites and cancer onset time were recorded and compared among the five AIDs.Results:Four hundred and thirty(5.3%)patients developed cancer.Their median agewas 57.5 years and AID durationwas 79.8 months.The estimated total standardized incidence ratio(SIR)of cancer in AIDs patients was 3.37,with the highest SIR observed in IIM(4.31),followed by RA(3.99),SSc(3.77),SS(2.88)and SLE(2.58).The increased SIR of cancers in AID patients showed a female predominance(female vs.male:3.59 vs.2.77)and younger patient involvement(age<50 vs.≥50 years:4.88 vs.3.04).Patientswith SLE had increased SIRs for developing hematologic malignancies and solid tumors located in the urinary bladder,corpus uteri and cervix uteri.Patients with SS had a significantly high SIR for developing non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.Within 3 years of IIM diagnosis,74.6%of the patients developed cancer and they had a high risk of ovarian cancer.RA was associated with a wide distribution of scancers,including non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma,gynecologic,urinary tract,thyroid gland and lung cancers.SSc patients had increased SIRs for developing cervical uterine,lung,and breast cancers.Conclusion:Patients with five major AIDs in China had an increased risk of developing cancer,with a predominance in women and younger patients,although cancer incidence,predilection sites and cancer onset time may vary greatly in each AID entity. | Ziyue Zhou Huazhen Liu Yiying Yang Jingya Zhou Lidan Zhao Hua Chen Yunyun Fei Wen Zhang Mengtao Li Yan Zhao Xiaofeng Zeng Fengchun Zhang Huaxia Yang Xuan Zhang | 2022 | Cancer Communications2022,42,5: | 4 |

Their structures were proved by Fourier transform infrared spectral analysis (FT-IR), X ray powder diffraction analysis, and ~13C NMR; the configuration of CMGC was characterized by scanning electron micrograph (SEM) and transmittance electron micrograph (TEM). The inclusion complex of CMGC with iodine was prepared and its inclusion ability was studied. The experimental results showed that some iodine was included with CMGC and formed a stable inclusion. The exact angles of the reffection paths are unknown beforehand, and therefore, the reffection paths can not be suppressed easily. Therefore, in this article, an improved reffection paths suppression approach is presented. A block matrix aggregate is constructed based on the possible angles of the reffection paths. Combined with the beamforming-like processing, a generalized maximum likelihood estimation is derived to optimize the estimation. Moreover, the noise reduction method based on the Toeplitz covariance matrix is used for better performance. This approach is applied to the real data collected by the low-angle tracking radar with 8-channel vertical array. Ca2+ homeostasis protein expression was determined by western blot. RESULTS: After SWTX pretreatment, the development of ultrastructural pathological changes from IR injury was attenuated. A decrease in the expression of B-cell lymphoma 2 associated X protein, and an increase in the expression of B-cell lymphoma 2 were observed. An increased activation of extracellular signal regulated kinases were found. Compared with the sham group, the expression of sarcoplasmic reticulum calcium-ATPase, phospholamban, and calsequestrin were all up-regulated after pretreatment with SWTX.
