1Effects of tannic acid on the immunity and intestinal health of broiler chickens with necrotic enteritis infection显示文摘Background In broiler chickens,necrotic enteritis(NE)infection can reduce production performance.Tannic acid has shown great potential as a treatment of NE in broilers.However,the appropriate dosage of tannic acid in NE of broilers and the improvement effect on intestinal health are not very clear.In this study,we aimed to investigate the effects of different doses of tannic acid on the production performance,immunity,and intestinal health of broilers by constructing an NE model with C.perfringens infection and determining the appropriate dosage of tannic acid with regard to NE.Results Challenged birds showed significant reduction in body weight,villus height,and the ratio of villus height to crypt depth(P<0.05)and increase in the feed consumption gain ratio,intestinal lesion score,and crypt depth(P<0.05).The infection significantly reduced the relative Bacteroidota and Ligilactobacillus abundance(P<0.05)and increased the ratio of Firmicutes/Bacteroidota and cecal content of C.perfringens(P<0.05).Challenged birds fed diets supplemented with tannic acid showed significantly increased mRNA expression of nutrient transport carriers and intestinal barrier genes and growth performance and reduced serum zonulin and endotoxin levels(P<0.05).Addi-tion of tannic acid to the diet inhibited the inflammatory response by reducing the number of coccidia oocysts in feces and the content of C.perfringens in the cecum.Specifically,tannic acid reduced the serum levels of C reactive protein,myeloperoxidase,and specific IgY and ileal mucosal secretory immunoglobulin A levels in the ileal mucosa compared with those in the NE-infected birds.NE-infected birds fed diets supplemented with tannic acid also showed significantly increased relative Anaerocolumna,Thermoanaerobacterium,and Thermosinus abundance(P<0.05);their microbial composition and functional predictions were similar to those of the NC group.Conclusions Tannic acid in the diet alleviated NE by enhancing the intestinal barrier and absorption function.The recommended dietary tannic acid additive level is 500–750 mg/kg.Our study findings would be useful in reducing related economic losses in the broiler industry.Huiping Xu Jianyang Fu Yimeng Luo Peng Li Bochen Song Zengpeng Lv Yuming Guo 2023Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2023,14,6:1
2Ultra-high temperature tolerant flexible transparent electrode with embedded silver nanowires bundle micromesh for electrical heater显示文摘To realize high performance flexible transparent electronics with extreme environmental adaptivity,Ag nanowires(Ag NWs)electrodes should simultaneously meet the requirements of high-temperature tolerance,chemical and mechanical robustness.Herein,a scalable Ag NWs bundle micro-meshes embedded in polyimide(Ag BMs/ePI)conducting film via a facile spray coating and transfer method is reported.Due to the synergistic effect of bundle micromesh and embedded architecture,the Ag BMs/ePI electrode exhibits high thermal stability(370℃ and 400℃ under ambient and nitrogen atmosphere conditions,respectively),low sheet resistance variation(<4%),good corrosion and deformation resistance.As an electrical heater,the Ag BMs/ePI can achieve~204℃ with the fast thermal response time of~8 s at 8 V,and exhibits good heating stability under bent condition.This work offers a promising platform for the emerging flexible transparent electronics to adapt extreme environments,especially for those devices which require high-temperature processing.Bowen Sun Ruixue Xu Xu Han Jing Xu Wang Hong Yimeng Xu Zhiwei Fu He Zhu Xin Sun Jiangxin Wang Peng Cui Jingjing Chang Jiaqing Xiong Kai Qian 2022npj Flexible Electronics2022,6,1:0
3Inhibition of aryl hydrocarbon receptor signaling promotes the terminal differentiation of human erythroblasts显示文摘The aryl hydrocarbon receptor(AHR)plays an important role during mammalian embryo development.Inhibition of AHR signaling promotes the development of hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells.AHR also regulates the functional maturation of blood cells,such as T cells and megakaryocytes.However,little is known about the role of AHR modulation during the development of erythroid cells.In this study,we used the AHR antagonist StemRegenin 1(SR1)and the AHR agonist 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin during different stages of human erythropoiesis to elucidate the function of AHR.We found that antagonizing AHR signaling improved the production of human embryonic stem cell derived erythrocytes and enhanced erythroid terminal differentiation.RNA sequencing showed that SR1 treatment of proerythroblasts upregulated the expression of erythrocyte differentiation-related genes and downregulated actin organization-associated genes.We found that SR1 accelerated F-actin remodeling in terminally differentiated erythrocytes,favoring their maturation of the cytoskeleton and enucleation.We demonstrated that the effects of AHR inhibition on erythroid maturation were associated with F-actin remodeling.Our findings help uncover the mechanism for AHRmediated human erythroid cell differentiation.We also provide a new approach toward the large-scale production of functionally mature human pluripotent stem cell-derived erythrocytes for use in translational applications.Yijin Chen Yong Dong Xulin Lu Wanjing Li Yimeng Zhang Bin Mao Xu Pan Xiaohong Li Ya Zhou Quanming An Fangxin Xie Shihui Wang Yuan Xue Xinping Cai Mowen Lai Qiongxiu Zhou Yan Yan Ruohan Fu Hong Wang Tatsutoshi Nakahata Xiuli An Lihong Shi Yonggang Zhang Feng Ma 2022Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2022,14,2:0
