1Future biomass carbon sequestration capacity of Chinese forests显示文摘Chinese forests, characterized by relatively young stand age, represent a significant biomass carbon(C)sink over the past several decades. Nevertheless, it is unclear how forest biomass C sequestration capacity in China will evolve as forest age, climate and atmospheric CO_2 concentration change continuously. Here,we present a semi-empirical model that incorporates forest age and climatic factors for each forest type to estimate the effects of forest age and climate change on total forest biomass, under three different scenarios based on the fifth phase of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project(CMIP5). We estimate that age-related forest biomass C sequestration to be 6.69 Pg C(~0.17 Pg C a^(-1)) from the 2000s to the 2040s.Climate change induces a rather weak increase in total forest biomass C sequestration(0.52–0.60 Pg C by the 2040s). We show that rising CO_2 concentrations could further increase the total forest biomass C sequestration by 1.68–3.12 Pg C in the 2040s across all three scenarios. Overall, the total forest biomass in China would increase by 8.89–10.37 Pg C by the end of 2040s. Our findings highlight the benefits of Chinese afforestation programs, continued climate change and increasing CO_2 concentration in sustaining the forest biomass C sink in the near future, and could therefore be useful for designing more realistic climate change mitigation policies such as continuous forestation programs and careful choice of tree species.Yitong Yao Shilong Piao Tao Wang 2018Science Bulletin2018,63,17:25

6The polycaprolactone/silk fibroin/carbonate hydroxyapatite electrospun scaffold promotes bone reconstruction by regulating the polarization of macrophages显示文摘Macrophages are known to modulate the osteogenic environment of bone regeneration elicited by biological bone grafts.Alteration in certain chemical components tends to affect macrophages polarization.Comparatively to hydroxyapatite(HAp),carbonate hydroxyapatite(CHA)consists of 7.4(wt%)carbonate ions and more closely resembles the mineral content of bone.It remains unknown whether CHA scaffolds or HA scaffolds have better osteogenic properties.In this study,we fabricated PCL/SF scaffold,PCL/SF/HAp scaffold and PCL/SF/CHA scaffold using the electrospinning technique.Despite comparable mechanical properties,the PCL/SF/CHA scaffold exhibited better osteogenic properties than the PCL/SF/HAp scaffold.Although no significant differences were observed between the two scaffolds for promoting osteoblast differentiation in vitro,the PCL/SF/CHA group appeared to be more effective at promoting bone regeneration in cranial defects in vivo.The PCL/SF/CHA scaffold was found to promote macrophage polarization toward M2 via activating the JAK/STAT5 pathway which caused a pro-osteogenic microenvironment to facilitate osteoblast differentiation.The results of this study indicated a higher potential of CHA to substitute HAp in the production of bone scaffolds for better bone regeneration.Xiaoshi Jia Jing Zhou Jinqiu Ning Maoquan Li Yitong Yao Xiaodong Wang Yutao Jian Ke Zhao 2022Regenerative Biomaterials2022,9,1:0

9MXene Ti_(3)C_(2) decorated g-C_(3)N_(4)/ZnO photocatalysts with improved photocatalytic performance for CO_(2) reduction显示文摘Photocatalytic reduction of CO_(2) is considered as a kind of promising technologies for solving the greenhouse effect.Herein,a novel hybrid structure of g-C_(3)N_(4)/ZnO/Ti_(3)C_(2) photocatalysts was designed and fabricated to investigate their abilities for CO_(2) reduction.As demonstration,heterojunction of g-C_(3)N_(4)/ZnO can improve photogenerated carriers’separation,the addition of Ti_(3)C_(2) fragments can further facilitate the photocatalytic performance from CO_(2) to CO.Hence,g-C_(3)N_(4)/ZnO/Ti_(3)C_(2) has efficiently increased CO production by 8 and 12 times than pristine g-C_(3)N_(4) and ZnO,respectively.Which is ascribed to the photogenerated charge migration promoted by metallic Ti_(3)C_(2).This work provides a guideline for designing efficient hybrid catalysts on other applications in the renewable energy fields.Jianxin Li Yuhua Wang Yitong Wang Yao Guo Shiding Zhang Haixiang Song Xianchang Li Qianqian Gao Wanyu Shang Shuaishuai Hu Huibin Zheng Xifei Li 2023Nano Materials Science2023,5,2:0
10Numerical Investigation into the Air Flow Distributions of the Air Conditioning System in the Modular Data Center显示文摘Data center plays an increasingly important role in everyday life.As data center is becoming more and more powerful,energy consumption is also increasing dramatically.The air conditioning system occupies at least 50 percent of the total energy consumption.Therefore,delicate analysis on the air conditioning system could help to reduce energy consumption in data center.An advanced Finite Volume Method with RNG k-ε model and convective heat exchange model is used in this paper to study the airflow and the temperature distribution of modular data center under different arrangements.Specifically,the calculation formula of convective heat transfer coefficient for plate flow is adopted to simplify analysis;and fans on the back of racks are simplified to be walls with a certain pressure jump.Simulations reveal that,in the case where air conditioners are arranged face-to-face,the temperature distribution on the back of racks is not uniform,and local high temperature points emerge near the side wall of air conditioners.By analyzing the distribution of air flow and temperature,geometric model is optimized by using a diagonal rack arrangement and drilling holes on the side wall.In the same energy consumption situation,the overall maximum temperature of the optimized model is reduced by 2.3℃ compared with that of the original one,and the maximum temperature on the server surface is reduced by 1℃.Based on the optimized model,the effect of the hot aisle distance on the temperature distribution is studied.By simulating four different cases with various distances of hot aisle of 100cm,120cm,130cm and 150cm,it is found that the temperature is generally lower and distributed more evenly in the case with 120cm hot aisle distance.This demonstrates that the distance of hot aisle has an effect on temperature.Hao Dong Ziqiang Qin Shicheng Liu Yao Li Yingying Shen Haibo Wang Yitong Zong XiaojunWu Haiqing Si 2019Advances in Applied Mathematics and Mechanics2019,11,1:0
