1^(40)Ar/^(39)Ar age evidence for Altyn fault tectonic activities in western China显示文摘Four 40Ar/39Ar age groups of mica, hornblende and K-feldspar were obtained from Proterozoic and early Paleozoic metamorphic rocks in the Aksay-Dangjin Pass area, western China. The samples away from the middle shear zone of the Altyn fault belt yield two plateau age groups in the range of 461—445.2 Ma and 414.9—342.8 Ma, respec-tively. They represent the tectono-thermal events that had been recorded in the rocks that were displaced by the Altyn strike-slip fault in late Ordovician-early Silurian and Devo-nian, respectively. These two age groups should be related to the closures of Northern and Southern Qilian Oceans. The deformed granitic gneiss from the northern belt gives a pla-teau age group of 178.4—137.5 Ma, which is interpreted as the active age of the Altyn fault in the middle-late Jurassic- early Cretaceous and should be related to the accretion of Lhasa block to the north. The sample from the middle shear zone of the Altyn fault belt yields two plateau ages of 36.4 and 26.3 Ma, respectively, suggesting the strike-slip move-ment with strong metamorphism at greenschist facies along the Altyn fault in the late Eocene. This event occurred in the most areas of the northern Tibet Plateau and should be in response in the north to the collision between Indian and Eurasian continents. The present study demonstrates that the Altyn fault is characterized by multiple pulse-style activi-ties under the tectonic setting of convergence between the Indian and Eurasian continents.LIU Yongjiang1, J. 2Effect of cold-ischemia time on nuclear factor-кB activation and inflammatory response in graft after orthotopic liver transplantation in rats显示文摘AIM: To study the mechanism and effect of nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) activation and inflammatory response on the extended cold-preserved graft injury after orthotopic liver transplantation (OLT). METHODS: OLT was performed in rats with varying time of cold ischemia grafts (6, 18 and 24 h in University Wisconsin solution at 4 ℃). We determined the time of NF-κB activation and expression of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), cytokineinducible neutrophil chemoattractant (CINC), and intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1) within 6 h after reperfusion. Serum alarming aminotransferase (ALT), neutrophil sequestration, circulating neutrophil CD11b and L- selectin expression were also evaluated. RESULTS: The accumulation of neutrophils in the graft was significantly increased in the 18 h and 24 h cold-ischemia groups within 0.5 h after reperfusion, compared with the 6 h group. But the strongly activated neutrophils was slightly increased at 2 h after reperfusion and remained at high levels 4 h after reperfusion, which was synchronized with the common situation of recipients after transplantation. Prolonged cold-preservation did not affect neutrophil accumulation and activation. NF-κB activation preceded the expression of TNF-α, CINC, and ICAM-1 in the liver, which was significantly increased with prolonged cold preservation. In prolonged cold preserved grafts, prominently elevated NF-κB activation occurred at 0.5 h and 1 h, compared with that at 2 h after reperfusion, which was consistent with greatly increased intrahepatic TNF-α response. CONCLUSION: NF-κB activation is correlated with the expression of TNF-α, CINC, and ICAM-1 in vivo in OLT rats. Extended cold preservation of grafts might up-regulate TNF-α, CINC, and ICAM-1 expression in the grafts, most probably through elevated NF-κB activation, and might contribute to neutrophil infiltration in the grafts after reperfusion. 3Laser probe ^(40)Ar/^(39)Ar dating of mica on the deformed rocks from Altyn Fault and its tectonic implications,western China显示文摘The samples of Caledonian mylonitized granite and Jurassic meta-sedimentary rocks were collected in the north of Dangjinshan Pass, Qaidam gate fault-valley and Gesi fault-valley. Detailed studies under the microscope and electronic microscope suggest that all the samples contain the syntectonic-growing minerals such as white mica, chlorite, sericite, biotite, etc. By dating these minerals, we got a group of 40Ar/39Ar laser probe isochronal ages of 89-92 Ma and apparent ages of (46.6±6.4) Ma. The ages ranging from 97 to 46 Ma were reported for the first time in the isotopic dating researches of the Altyn Fault The isochronal age group of (98-89) Ma indicates that a ductile strike-slip event, with low-grade metamorphism, began in late Cretaceous. 4Ischemic preconditioning decreases C-X-C chemokine expression and neutrophil accumulation early after liver transplantation in rats显示文摘AIM: Polymorphonuclear neutrophil (PMN) plays a major role in liver ischemia/reperfusion injury. Protective effect of ischemic preconditioning (IP) has been confirmed in liver ischemia/reperfusion injury. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of IP on C-X-C chemokine expression and PMNs recruitment eady after liver transplantation.METHODS: Male Sprague-Dawley rats were used as donors and recipients of orthotopic liver transplantation (OLT). The donor liver was stored 24 hours in University of Wisconsin(UW) solution at 4 ℃ pre-implantation, IP was done by damp of the portal vein and hepatic artery of the donor liver for 10 minutes followed by reperfusion for 10 minutes before harvesting. The neutrophilic infiltration in liver was quantified using a myeloperoxidase (MPO) assay. Intragrafl: expression of macrophage inflammatory protein-2 (MIP-2) mRNA was investigated with in situ hybridization, The serum levels of MIP-2 and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α were also monitored,RESULTS: After liver transplantation without IP, the hepatic MPO increased significantly compared with sham operated group. In IP group, PMN in liver indicated by MPO was reduced significantly. In situ hybridization showed no MIP-2 mRNA in sham group but dramatic expression in hepatocytes in non-IP group. In IP group, MIP-2 mRNA was significantly down-regulated. 7Cenozoic plant diversity of Yunnan: A review显示文摘Yunnan in southwestern China is renowned for its high plant diversity.To understand how this modern botanical richness formed,it is critical to investigate the past biodiversity throughout the geological time.In this review,we present a summary on plant diversity,floristics and climates in the Cenozoic of Yunnan and document their changes,by compiling published palaeobotanical sources.Our review demonstrates that thus far a total of 386 fossil species of ferns,gymnosperms and angiosperms belonging to 170 genera within 66 families have been reported from the Cenozoic,particularly the Neogene,of Yunnan.Angiosperms display the highest richness represented by 353 species grouped into 155 genera within 60 families,with Fagaceae,Fabaceae,Lauraceae and Juglandaceae being the most diversified.Most of the families and genera recorded as fossils still occur in Yunnan,but seven genera have disappeared,including Berryophyllum,Cedrelospermum,Cedrus,Palaeocarya,Podocarpium,Sequoia and Wataria.The regional extinction of these genera is commonly referred to an aridification of the dry season associated with Asian monsoon development.Floristic analyses indicate that in the late Miocene,Yunnan had three floristic regions:a northern subtropical floristic region in the northeast,a subtropical floristic region in the east,and a tropical floristic region in the southwest.In the late Pliocene,Yunnan saw two kinds of floristic regions:a subalpine floristic region in the northwest,and two subtropical floristic regions separately in the southwest and the eastern center.These floristic concepts are verified by results from our areal type analyses which suggest that in the Miocene southwestern Yunnan supported the most Pantropic elements,while in the Pliocene southwestern Yunnan had abundant Tropical Asia(Indo e Malaysia)type and East Asia and North America disjunct type that were absent from northwestern Yunnan.From the late Miocene to late Pliocene through to the present,floristic composition and vegetation types changed markedly,presumably in response to altitude changes and coeval global cooling.An integration of palaeoclimate data suggests that during the Neogene Yunnan was warmer and wetter than today.Moreover,northern Yunnan witnessed a pronounced temperature decline,while southern Yunnan experienced only moderate temperature changes.Summer precipitation was consistently higher than winter precipitation,suggesting a rainfall seasonality.This summary on palaeoclimates helps us to understand under what conditions plant diversity occurred and evolved in Yunnan throughout the Cenozoic.Yongjiang Huang Linbo Jia QiongWang Volker Mosbrugger Torsten Utescher Tao Su Zhekun Zhou 2016Plant Diversity2016,38,6:8
8Protective effect of tubuloside B on TNFα-induced apoptosis in neuronal cells显示文摘AIM: To investigate the neuroprotective effect of tubuloside B, one of the phenylethanoids isolated from the stems of Cistanche salsa, on tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNFα)-induced apoptosis in SH-SY5Y neuronal cells. METHODS: Cell viability was analyzed using MTT assay. Apoptotic cells were detected using Hoechst33342 staining, and confirmed by DNA fragmentation and flow cytometric analysis. The activity of caspase-3 was measured with special assay kit. The concentration of free intracellular calcium was determined with the probe Indo-1 by spectrometer. The level of intracellular reactive oxygen species and the potential of mitochondrial membrane were determined by laser scanning confocal microscopy (LSCM) combined with fluorescence probe H2DCFDA or JC-1 respectively. RESULTS: SH-SY5Y cells treated with TNFα 100 μg/L for 36 h showed typical morphological changes of apoptosis. DNA ladder could be observed by agarose gel electrophoresis. The highest percentage of apoptotic cells accumulated to 37.5 %. Following 36 h treatment with TNFα, accumulation of intracellular ROS and [Ca^2+]i and decrease in mitochondrial membrane potential were observed, and caspase-3 activity increased by about five-fold compared with controls. However, pretreatment with tubuloside B (1, 10, or 100 mg/L) for 2 h attenuated the TNFα-mediated apoptosis. The antiapoptotic action of tubuloside B was partially dependent on an anti-oxidative stress effects, maintain of mitochondria function, decrease of concentration of free intracellular calcium and inhibition of caspase-3 activity. 13Blueschist from the Toudaoqiao Area, Inner Mongolia, NE China: Evidence for the Suture between the Ergun and the Xing'an Blocks显示文摘Blueschist accompanied by pelitic schist expose along the Xinlin-Xiguitu fault in the Toudaoqiao area, northeastern China. In this paper, the blueschist is systematically studied on the petrography and mineral chemistry. The amphiboles in the blueschist are zoned from winchite core to magnesioriebeckite/glaucophane rim to winchite outermost rim. The peak metamorphic conditions are defined by the mineral assemblage of magnesioriebeckite/glaucophane, epidote, high-Si phengite(Si<7.1), chlorite, albite, hematite and quartz, indicating an epidote-blueschist facies metamorphism. The P-T conditions are estimated as T=350–400 ℃ and P=10-12 kbar. 14SORPTION BEHAVIOR AND MECHANISM OF SAMARIUM(III) ON AMINO METHYLENE PHOSPHONIC ACID RESIN显示文摘Sm(III) was quantitatively adsorbed by amino methylene phosphonic acid resin (APAR) in the medium of pH=5.0. The statically saturated sorption capacity is 251mg/g·resin. Sm(III) adsorbed on APAR can be reductively eluted by 2.0mol/L HCl. The sorption rate constant is k298= 1.35×10-5s-1. The sorption behavior of APAR for Sm(III) obeys the Freundlich isotherm. The enthalpy change △H of sorption is 24.9kJ/mol. The apparent activation energy is Ea=11.7kJ/mol. 15On water in nominally anhydrous minerals from mantle peridotites and magmatic rocks显示文摘Trace amount of water associated with the lattice defects of nominally anhydrous minerals(NAMs) can be measured using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR) and secondary ion mass spectrometry(SIMS). Lots of data on water in NAMs from different lithologies, especially mantle peridotite xenoliths, have been published. The water distribution in olivine from peridotite xenoliths often displays a diffusion profile with high water concentration in the core and low at the rim, which indicates water loss via diffusion during the ascent of host magma. On the other hand, water is homogeneously distributed in pyroxene and its concentration is typically interpreted to represent a mantle value. The water concentration of magma in equilibrium with NAM can be estimated using specific partition coefficient, from which the water content of parental magma and the mantle source can be inferred. The accuracy of this method, however, depends on the selection of appropriate partition coefficient for the system. Using hydrogen isotope compositions and H_2O/Ce ratios of mantle NAMs, water source regions can be traced and water heterogeneity can be mapped in the upper mantle. Water plays an important role in the stability of cratonic mantle. The water contents and vertical distribution patterns can be significantly different among different cratonic mantles, which may result from different geologic activities. However, the mantle-plume interaction may not necessarily result in significant change of water content in cratonic mantle. 16Brazing of Ti_2 AlNb Based Alloy with Amorphous Ti-Cu-Zr-Ni Filler显示文摘Amorphous Ti-Cu-Zr-Ni fi ller foils with low melting point of 1 133 K were synthesized using a melt-spinning method in argon atmosphere. A Ti2 Al Nb based alloy was brazed at 1 153-1 223 K for 600-3 000 s. The effects of brazing temperature(Tb) and time(tb) on the shear strength of the joints were investigated. The results showed that the joint strength was signifi cantly affected by the reaction layer thickness. The optimum brazing parameters can be determined as follows: Tb=1 173 K, and tb=600 s. The maximum tensile strength of the joint obtained can reach 260 MPa. Furthermore, the activation energy Q and the growth velocity A0 of the reaction layer in the brazed joints were calculated to be 161.742 k J/mol and 0.213 m2/s, respectively. 17The effect of C-terminal fragment of JNK2 on the stability of p53 and cell proliferation显示文摘The basal activity of JNK is low in normal growing cells and inactivated JNK targets p53 for ubiquitination. To elucidate if the C-terminal part of JNK is responsible for its binding to p53, the low background tet-off inducible NIH3T3 cell line was selected by luciferase reporter gene and a double stable C-JNK Aa (203-424) cell line was established. After withdrawing tetracycline, the C-JNK fragment expression was induced and cell growth was dramati- cally inhibited 24 h later. However, the expresion of p53 was found to be increased after the induction of C-JNK fragment, evaluated by transfecting p21waf-luciferase reporter genes. Our further studies showed that C-JNK fragment could form complex with p53 both in vivo and in vitro. 18In vivo suppressive effect of nudear factor-kB inhibitor on neutrophilic inflammation of grafts after orthotopic liver transplantation in rats显示文摘AIM. To investigate the effect of pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate (PDTC), a novel nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) inhibitor, on expression of multiple inflammatory mediators and neutrophilic inflammation of cold preserved grafts after rat liver transplantation and its significance.METHODS: Orthotopic liver transplantation (OLT) was performed after 24 h of cold storage using University of Wisconsin solution with varied concentrations of PDTC. We determined the time course of NF-κB activation and expression of multiple inflammatory signals, such as tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), cytokine-inducible neutrophil chemoattractant (CINC), and intercellular adhesion molecule-1(ICAM-1) by ELISA methods. Serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT), intrahepatic myeloperoxidase (MPO)/WBC (a measure of neutrophil accumulation) and Mac-1 expression (a measure of circulating neutrophil activity) were also evaluated.RESULTS: PDTC decreased NF-κB activation induced by prolonged cold preservation in a dose dependent manner (from 20 mmol/L to 60 mmol/L), diminished TNF-α, CINC,ICAM-1 proteins in the grafts, and reduced the expression f increases in plasma TNF-α levels induced by prolonged old preservation. Neutrophilic inflammation of the graft was significantly suppressed after preservation with PDTC (P<0.05). The total neutrophil accumulation in PDTC (40 mmol/L) group (7.04±0.97) was markedly reduced compared to control group (14.07±1.31) (P<0.05). Mac-1 expression was significantly reduced in PDTC (40 retool/L) group (181±11.3%) compared with the control group (281±13.2%) (P<0.05) at 6 h after reperfusion. Furthermore,PDTC inhibited the increased serum ALT levels after liver transplantation.CONCLUSION: PDTC can inhibit B NF-κB activation and expression of the inflammatory mediators, which are associated with improved graft viability via inhibiting intrahepatic neutrophilic inflammation. 19Microstructure and mechanical properties of Fe_xCoCrNiMn high-entropy alloys显示文摘The microstructure and tensile properties of FexCo Cr Ni Mn high-entropy alloys(HEAs) were investigated.It was found that the FexCo Cr Ni Mn HEA has a single face-centered cubic(fcc) structure in a wide range of Fe content. Further increasing the Fe content endowed the FexCo Cr Ni Mn alloys with an fcc/bodycentered cubic(bcc) dual-phase structure. The yield strength of the FexCo Cr Ni Mn HEAs slightly decreased with the increase of Fe content.
