1Acute and Sub-Acute Toxicological Evaluations of Bioactive Alkaloidal Extract from Melodinus henryi and Their Main Chemical Constituents显示文摘Melodinus henryi is a good source of terpenoid indole alkaloids,and traditionally used as a folk medicine in the treatment of meningitis and fracture.In order to further exploit their potential uses,its anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive activi-ties,safety evaluations and chemical profiles have been illustrated.Compared to the crude methanol extract from M.henryi and its non-alkaloidal fraction,the total alkaloidal fraction(MHTA)had the strongest anti-inflammatory and immunosup-pressive activities.In the acute oral toxicity assay,the half lethal dose(LD50)of MHTA was more than 2000 mg/kg.The sub-acute toxicity assay for consecutive 28 days exhibited MHTA at a lower concentrations of less than 500 mg/kg might be regarded as safe,and might damage spleen,liver,kidney,and heart when the dose is higher than 1000 mg/kg.In addition,a phytochemical investigation on MHTA led to the isolation of 15 monoterpenoid indole alkaloids.Thus,in regard with the potent side effects of MHTA,it should be used with caution in the development of phytomedicine.Meilian Yang Yudan Wang Zhifeng Fan Qingwang Xue Guy Sedar Singor Njateng Yaping Liu Jianxin Cao Tianrui Zhao Guiguang Cheng 2020Natural Products and Bioprospecting2020,10,4:1
2Numerical and Experimental Study of a Tornado Mixer显示文摘A new design of a selective catalytic reduction(SCR)mixer called tornado was developed for a heavy-duty diesel engine to solve the urea deposition problem.A combination of CFD simulation and experimental studies was used to comprehensively evaluate the performance of the tornado mixer.According to the numerical simulations,this mixer can improve the front surface flow uniformity of the SCR carrier by 6.67%and the NH3 distribution uniformity by 3.19%compared to a traditional mixer.Similarly,steady state SCR conversion efficiency test results have shown that the tornado mixer can increase the average SCR conversion efficiency by 1.73%compared to a traditional mixer.Therefore,the tornado mixer outperforms traditional mixers in terms of mixing uniformity,resistance to deposition and impact on NOX emissions.In addition,a dimensionless parameter,the“limiting deviation rate”,is proposed in the present study to improve the mixing uniformity assessment method for SCR mixers(with the explicit intent to evaluate the mixing uniformity more accurately).Yibao Wang Dongsheng Wang Yudan Xue Dailong Shi Xiaoli Zhang Yang Chai Bang An 2021Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing2021,17,6:0
3Phenomic Imaging显示文摘Human phenomics is defned as the comprehensive collection of observable phenotypes and characteristics infuenced by a complex interplay among factors at multiple scales.These factors include genes,epigenetics at the microscopic level,organs,microbiome at the mesoscopic level,and diet and environmental exposures at the macroscopic level.“Phenomic imaging”utilizes various imaging techniques to visualize and measure anatomical structures,biological functions,metabolic processes,and biochemical activities across diferent scales,both in vivo and ex vivo.Unlike conventional medical imaging focused on disease diagnosis,phenomic imaging captures both normal and abnormal traits,facilitating detailed correlations between macro-and micro-phenotypes.This approach plays a crucial role in deciphering phenomes.This review provides an overview of diferent phenomic imaging modalities and their applications in human phenomics.Additionally,it explores the associations between phenomic imaging and other omics disciplines,including genomics,transcriptomics,proteomics,immunomics,and metabolomics.By integrating phenomic imaging with other omics data,such as genomics and metabolomics,a comprehensive understanding of biological systems can be achieved.This integration paves the way for the development of new therapeutic approaches and diagnostic tools.Lizhen Lan Kai Feng Yudan Wu Wenbo Zhang Ling Wei Huiting Che Le Xue Yidan Gao Ji Tao Shufang Qian Wenzhao Cao Jun Zhang Chengyan Wang Mei Tian 2023Phenomics2023,3,6:0

5Efficacy and mechanisms of Dingxian pill(定痫丸)combined with valproic acid on pentylenetetrazol-induced chronic epilepsy in rats显示文摘OBJECIVE:To investigate the efficacy and mechanisms of Dingxian pill(定痫丸)combined with valproic acid(VPA)on pentylenetetrazol-induced chronical epilepsy in rats.METHODS:A rat model of epilepsy was established by administering pentylenetetrazol(PTZ)water solution(35 mg/kg).Rats were divided into 4 groups,among which three groups were treated with different drugs once a day for 28 d including Dingxian pill(2.4 g/kg),VPA(0.2 g/kg),or a combination of Dingxian pill(2.4 g/kg)and VPA(0.2 g/kg)respectively,and the control group was given the same volume of saline.Rats in different groups were compared based on animal behavior,electroencephalograms,Morris water maze,immunohistochemistry,transcriptomics and real-time polymerase chain reaction.RSULTS:The combination therapy of Dingxian pill and VPA inhibited PTZ-induced seizure-like behavior and reduced seizure grades more significantly than VPA alone.Compared with the control group,the learning and memory ability of chronic PTZ-induced epileptic rats was improved in all the drug treatment groups,especially in the group that received both Dingxian pill and VPA.Similar to the results of MWM tests,expression of the neuroexcitability marker gene c-Fos was reduced after Dingxian pill and/or VPA treatment,and the effect was most pronounced in the combined treatment group.Transcriptomic analysis revealed that gene expression in the rodent hippocampus,which is involved in epilepsy,was upregulated by combined treatment with Dingxian pill and VPA,compared with VPA treatment alone.CONCLUSION:Our results not only highlight the antiepileptic effects of combined Dingxian pill and VPA treatment,but also shed light on the underlying molecular mechanisms and provide a way to apply Traditional Chinese Medicine in the treatment of epilepsy.QU Dongxiao GE Yiqin ZHUO Limin CHEN Liji XUE Yonghua CHENG Jiwei TAO Jie LI Guoyi ZHU Yudan XIAO Qian 2023Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2023,43,2:0
