1Genetic analysis and QTL mapping of stalk cell wall components and digestibility in maize recombinant inbred lines from B73 × By804显示文摘The cell wall composition and structure of the maize stalk directly affects its digestibility and in turn its feed value.Previous studies of stem quality have focused mostly on common maize germplasm,and few studies have focused on high-oil cultivars with high grain and straw quality.Investigation of the genetic basis of cell wall composition and digestibility of maize stalk using high-oil maize is desirable for improving maize forage quality.In the present study,a high-oil inbred line(By804)was crossed as male parent with the maize inbred line B73 to construct a population of 188 recombinant inbred lines(RILs).The phenotypes of six cell-wall-related traits were recorded,and QTL analysis was performed with a genetic map constructed with SNP markers.All traits were significantly correlated with one another and showed high broad-sense heritability.Of 20 QTLs mapped,the QTL associated with each trait explained 10.0%–41.1%of phenotypic variation.Approximately half of the QTL each explained over 10%of the phenotypic variation.These results provide a theoretical basis for improving maize forage quality by marker-assisted selection.Qi Wang Kun Li Xiaojiao Hu Huimin Shi Zhifang Liu Yujin Wu Hongwu Wang Changling Huang 2020The Crop Journal2020,8,1:2
2Genome-wide identification and functional characterization of the MdCLE peptide family in apple(Malus×domestica)显示文摘The CLAVATA3/EMBRYO SURROUNDING REGION-related(CLE)peptides are critical for stem cell homeostasis in plant shoot and root apical meristem.Although CLE genes have been reported in numerous plants,there is limited information for apple.Here,twenty-five MdCLE genes were identified fromapple genome(Apple Genome V1.0 predicted peptides).Analysis of chromosomal location showed that the 25 MdCLE genes were located on 12 of 17 apple chromosomes.Genetic structure analysis showed that 21 of 25 the MdCLE genes were intron-free.Expression patterns showed thatmost of the MdCLE genes showed higher expression levels in leaves and root compared with the other tissues.In addition,expression analysis demonstrated that MdCLE genes had different gene expression patterns for abiotic stress treatment,suggesting their potential roles in acclimation of apple to adverse environments.The 25 MdCLE genes encoded 19 different CLE peptides,and they were divided into two groups depending on their effects on the inhibition of Arabidopsis root growth.Our results suggest that MdCLE genesmay have an important but redundant function in regulating plant growth and development,and this work provides valuable references for further investigation of the biological functions of MdCLE genes.Tianen Zhang Xiuming Li Qiang Zhao Yan Shi Yujin Hao Chunxiang You 2022Horticultural Plant Journal2022,8,3:2

5Petrogenesis of Early Permian Intrusive Rocks from Southeastern Inner Mongolia, China: Constraints on the Tectonic Framework of the Southeastern Central Asian Orogenic Belt显示文摘The late Paleozoic tectonic framework of the southeastern Central Asian Orogenic Belt is key to restricting the accretion orogeny between the Siberia Craton and the North China Craton. To clarify the framework, petrogenesis of early Permian intrusive rocks from southeastern Inner Mongolia was studied. Zircon U-Pb dating for bojite and syenogranite from Ar-Horqin indicate that they were emplaced at 288–285 Ma. Geochemical data reveal that the bojite is highly magnesian and low-K to middle-K calc-alkaline, with E-MORB-type REE and IAB-like trace element patterns. The syenogranite is a middle-K calc-alkaline fractionated A-type granite and shows oceanic-arc-like trace element patterns, with depleted Sr-Nd-Hf isotopes,(~(87)Sr/~(86)Sr)I = 0.7032–0.7042, ε_(Nd)(t) = +4.0 to +6.6 and zircon ε_(Hf)(t) = +11.14 to +14.99. This suggests that the bojite was derived from lithospheric mantle metasomatized by subducted slab melt, while the syenogranite originated from very juvenile arc-related lower crust. Usng data from coeval magmatic rocks from Linxi-Ar-Horqin, the Ar-Horqin intra-oceanic arc was reconstructed, i.e., initial transition in 290–280 Ma and mature after 278 Ma. 8Control Structure Analysis and Recovery of Embedded Binaries显示文摘Existing decompilers use rule-based algorithms to transform unstructured Control flow graph(CFG) into equivalent high-level programming language constructs with 'goto' statements. One problem of such approaches is that they generate a large number of 'goto's in the output code, which reduce the readability and hinder the understanding of input binaries. A global search algorithm is proposed based on structural analysis. This algorithm restructures a CFG and generates fewer number of 'goto' statements than the rule-based algorithm does.We also present a Genetic algorithm(GA) for the global search approach to locate near optimal solutions for large CFGs. 9Correlation between per-well average dynamic reserves and initial absolute open flow potential(AOFP) for large gas fields in China and its application显示文摘Based on performance data of over 600 wells in 32 large gas fields of different types in China, the correlation is established between per-well average dynamic reserves( G) and average initial absolute open flow potential(IAOFq) of each field, and its connotation and applicability are further discussed through theoretical deduction. In log-log plot, G vs. IAOFq exhibit highly dependent linear trend, which implicates the compatibility between G and IAOFq attained through development optimization to reach the balance among annual flow capacity, maximum profits and certain production plateau, that is to match productivity with rate maintenance capacity. The correlation can be used as analogue in new gas field development planning to evaluate the minimum dynamic reserves which meet the requirement of stable and profitable production, and facilitate well pattern arrangement. 10Sensing of cytoplasmic chromatin by cGAS activates innate immune response in SARS-CoV-2 infection显示文摘The global coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic is caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARSCoV-2),a positive-sense RNA virus.How the host immune system senses and responds to SARS-CoV-2 infection remain largely unresolved.Here,we report that SARS-CoV-2 infection activates the innate immune response through the cytosolic DNA sensing cGAS-STING pathway.SARS-CoV-2 infection induces the cellular level of 2′3′-cGAMP associated with STING activation.cGAS recognizes chromatin DNA shuttled from the nucleus as a result of cell-to-cell fusion upon SARS-CoV-2 infection.We further demonstrate that the expression of spike protein from SARS-CoV-2 and ACE2 from host cells is sufficient to trigger cytoplasmic chromatin upon cell fusion.Furthermore,cytoplasmic chromatin-cGAS-STING pathway,but not MAVS-mediated viral RNA sensing pathway,contributes to interferon and pro-inflammatory gene expression upon cell fusion.Finally,we show that cGAS is required for host antiviral responses against SARS-CoV-2,and a STING-activating compound potently inhibits viral replication.Together,our study reported a previously unappreciated mechanism by which the host innate immune system responds to SARS-CoV-2 infection,mediated by cytoplasmic chromatin from the infected cells.Targeting the cytoplasmic chromatin-cGAS-STING pathway may offer novel therapeutic opportunities in treating COVID-19.In addition,these findings extend our knowledge in host defense against viral infection by showing that host cells’self-nucleic acids can be employed as a“danger signal”to alarm the immune system.Zhuo Zhou Xinyi Zhang Xiaobo Lei Xia Xiao Tao Jiao Ruiyi Ma Xiaojing Dong Qi Jiang Wenjing Wang Yujin Shi Tian Zheng Jian Rao Zichun Xiang Lili Ren Tao Deng Zhengfan Jiang Zhixun Dou Wensheng Wei Jianwei Wang 2021Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,12:0
11Insight into the role of ethylene glycol on thermodynamics and nucleation kinetics of dimethyl terephthalate in mixed solvent system显示文摘Dissolution and nucleation are two essential processes for industrial crystallization.This paper in-vestigates the effect of ethylene glycol addition on the crystallization behavior of dimethyl terephthalate(DMT)in solution.The DMT solubility in mixed solvent system(methanol-ethylene glycol)was deter-mined by isothermal satiation approach,and the solubility was associated using seven models.The model fitting results were consistent with the experimental values.Based on the results,the metastable zone width(MSZW)of DMT was detected by the polythermal approach;the modified Sangwal's theory was used to investigate the nucleation behavior,which can provide a new way of thought for better analysis of the crystallization behavior.The results demonstrated that MSZW was associated with various elements,such as cooling rate,saturation temperature and mass fraction of ethylene glycol.The addition of ethylene glycol slowed down the nucleation rate as shown by the broadening of MSZW.We derive the solid-liquid interface energy,the nucleation driving force,the critical nucleation size and the critical Gibbs free energy according to the classical nucleation theory.It is demonstrated that the nucleation driving force and the solid-liquid interface energy are dependent and jointly influence the MSZW.Yujin Zhang Chunyan Shi Jing Tang Li Liu Dongxia Yan Qing Zhou Xingmei Lu Songyan Jia 2024Particuology2024,85,2:0
12Identification of the Intrinsic Dielectric Properties of Metal Single Atoms for Electromagnetic Wave Absorption显示文摘Atomically dispersed metals on N-doped carbon supports(M-N_(xCs)) have great potential applications in various fields.However,a precise understanding of the definitive relationship between the configuration of metal single atoms and the dielectric loss properties of M-N_(xCs) at the atomic-level is still lacking.Herein,we report a general approach to synthesize a series of three-dimensional(3D)honeycomb-like M-N_xC(M=Mn,Fe,Co,Cu,or Ni) containing metal single atoms.Experimental results indicate that 3D M-N_(xCs) exhibit a greatly enhanced dielectric loss compared with that of the NC matrix.Theoretical calculations demonstrate that the density of states of the d orbitals near the Fermi level is significantly increased and additional electrical dipoles are induced due to the destruction of the symmetry of the local microstructure,which enhances conductive loss and dipolar polarization loss of 3D M-N_(xCs),respectively.Consequently,these 3D M-N_(xCs) exhibit excellent electromagnetic wave absorption properties,outperforming the most commonly reported absorbers.This study systematically explains the mechanism of dielectric loss at the atomic level for the first time and is of significance to the rational design of high-efficiency electromagnetic wave absorbing materials containing metal single atoms.Xinci Zhang Yanan Shi Jia Xu Qiuyun Ouyang Xiao Zhang Chunling Zhu Xiaoli Zhang Yujin Chen 2022Nano-Micro Letters2022,14,2:0
13Survival nomogram for patients with de novo metastatic breast cancer based on the SEER database and an external validation cohort显示文摘Background On average,5-10%of patients are diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer(MBC)at the initial diagnosis.This study aimed to develop a nomogram to predict the overall survival(OS)in these patients.Methods The nomogram was based on a retrospective study of 9435 patients with de novo MBC from the Surveillance,Epidemiology,and End Results(SEER)database.The predictive accuracy and discriminative ability of the nomogram were determined using the concordance index(C-index),area under the time-dependent receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC),and calibration curve.Decision curve analysis(DCA)was employed to evaluate the benefits and advantages of our new predicting model over the 8th edition of the American Joint Committee on Cancer(AJCC)Tumor Node Metastasis(TNM)staging system.The results were validated in a retrospective study of 103 patients with de novo MBC from January 2013 to June 2022 at an institution in northwest China.Results Multivariate analysis of the primary cohort revealed that independent factors for survival were age at diagnosis,pathological type,histological grade,T stage,N stage,molecular subtype,bone metastasis,brain metastasis,liver metastasis,lung metastasis,surgery,chemotherapy,and radiotherapy.The nomogram achieved a C-index of 0.688(95%confidence interval[CI],0.682-0.694)in the training cohort and 0.875(95%CI,0.816-0.934)in the validation cohort.The AUC of the nomograms indicated good specificity and sensitivity in the training and validation cohorts,respectively.Calibration curves showed favorable consistency between the predicted and actual survival probabilities.Additionally,the DCA curve produced higher net gains than by the AJCC-TNM staging system.Finally,risk stratification can accurately identify groups of patients with de novo MBC at different risk levels.Conclusions The nomogram showed favorable predictive and discriminative abilities for OS in patients with de novo MBC.Other populations from different countries or prospective studies are needed to further validate the nomogram.Lizhi Ning Yaobang Liu Yujin Hou Miaozhou Wang Mingqiang Shi Zhen Liu Jiuda Zhao Xinlan Liu 2023Cancer Pathogenesis and Therapy2023,1,4:0
