1Analyses of hot and humid weather in Beijing city in summer and its dynamical identification显示文摘The circulation, hygrothermal property and moisture transport character of typical hot and humid weather were analyzed in Beijing areas from July 30 to August 4, 2002. It was pointed out that, under the control of subtropical anticyclone which stretches to the west and north, downdraft suppresses the lifting of lower-troposphere moisture, which makes moisture keep in the lower troposphere. That is the direct reason causing hot and humid weather. Considering the non-uniformity saturated character in real atmosphere, generalized moist potential vorticity (GMPV) equation is derived by the introduction of generalized moist potential temperature concept. The analysis of GMPV shows that negative GMPV anomaly occurs in the lower troposphere. It has indicative sense to hot and humid weather. 3Convective Bursts Episode of the Rapidly Intensified Typhoon Mujigae(2015)显示文摘Convective burst(CB) characteristics at distinct stages of a rapidly intensified Typhoon Mujigae(2015), are investigated based on a 72-h simulation. The spatial features show that almost all CB elements develop in the eyewall. The number of CBs in the inner-core region within a 100 km radius—which account for a large proportion of the total CBs, with a sharp increase about 6 h before the onset of rapid intensification(RI)—provides some indication of the RI of the typhoon. The CBs during pre-RI and RI are examined from dynamic and thermodynamic viewpoints. The combination of lower-level convergent inflow and upper-level divergent outflow pushes a relay-race-like transmission of convective activity, favorable for the development of deep convection. A double warm-core structure is induced by the centripetal outflow sinking and warming associated with CBs, which directly accelerates RI by a sudden decrease in hydrostatic pressure. By utilizing the convection activity degree(CAD) index derived from the local total energy anomaly, a correlation formula between CBs and CAD is deduced.Furthermore, an intense CAD(ICAD) signal threshold(with a value equal to 100) to predict CBs is obtained. It is verified that this ICAD threshold is effective for estimating the occurrence of a CB episode and predicting RI of a typhoon. 4Primary environmental factors controlling gully distribution at the local and regional scale:An example from Northeastern China显示文摘Gully erosion is the main cause of global land degradation.The factors controlling gully erosion at watershed scale have been extensively studied,but the spatial pattern of gullies and their primary environmental factors are unclear.In order to explore the primary factors at the regional scale of over thousands of square kilometers,34 sample areas were selected in northeastern China and 10 environ-mental factors were proposed.Based on gully interpretations from high-resolution Google Earth images and spatial analysis,kernel density estimation(with polyline features),and correlation analysis,the results show that the maximum kernel density(KD)of the 34 sample areas ranged from 0.11 to 87.16,and there were significant positive correlations between the average KD and the maximum value and standard deviation.At the regional scale,topography(relief amplitude,slope,surface roughness,surface incision,and elevation with correlation coefficients(p)of 0.60,0.59,0.57,0.48,and 0.41 respectively)was the primary environmental factor,with a significant positive correlation with KD.The correlation co-efficients of the normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI)(p=032),annual precipitation(p=0.19),and soil(silt,sand,and clay content with p of 0.139,-0.117,and 0.085,respectively)decreased succes-sively with the KD.At sample area scale,there were six areas with weak correlations between envi-ronmental factors and KD,20 areas with topographic factors,six areas with annual precipitation,and two areas with NDVI as the primary factor.The correlation between soil texture and KD was low.There were different positive or negative correlations between the environmental factors and KD.The spatial dis-tribution of gullies in northeastern China is heterogeneous,and the primary environmental factors were diverse.This study will help to understand the spatial pattern and formation mechanism of gullies at large scale.Yushu Zhou Bin Zhang Wei Qin Qingchun Deng Jun Luo Hui Liu Dan Yang Houling Wang Ying Zhao 2021International Soil and Water Conservation Research2021,9,1:2
5Second order potential vorticity and its potential applications显示文摘A new invariant, the second order potential vorticity(SPV), is derived in this paper. SPV is the dot product of vorticity and the potential vorticity(PV) gradient, and is proven conservative for a compressible, adiabatic and frictionless atmosphere. Research shows that the new invariant may be used to indicate the evolution of PV, because SPV includes all the information that determines PV evolution: the wind field, and the PV gradient. Furthermore, SPV is capable of diagnosing heavy precipitation because of the strong signals it presents in areas of heavy rainfall. 6Bifurcation and chaos of an airfoil with cubic nonlinearity in incompressible flow显示文摘Using a combination of analytical and numerical methods, the paper studies bifurcations and chaotic motions of a two-dimensional airfoil with cubic nonlinearity in incompressible flow. One type of critical points (characterized by a negative eigenvalue, a simple zero eigenvalue and a pair of purely imaginary eigenvalues) for the bifurcation response equations is considered. With the aid of the normal form theory, the explicit expressions of the critical bifurcation lines leading to incipient and secondary bifurcations are obtained. The stability of the bifurcation solutions is also investigated. By using the undetermined coefficient method, the homoclinic orbit is found, and the uniform convergence of the homoclinic orbit series expansion is proved. It analytically demonstrates that there exists a homoclinic orbit joining the initial equilibrium point to itself, therefore Smale horseshoe chaos occurs for this system via Si'lnikov criterion. The system evolves into chaotic motion through period-doubling bifurcation, and is periodic again as the dimensionless airflow speed increases. 18An efficient route to prepare suspended monolayer for feasible optical and electronic characterizations of two-dimensional materials显示文摘Two-dimensional(2D)materials are highly sensitive to substrates,interfaces,and the surrounding environments.Suspended 2D materials are free from substrate-induced effects,thus an ideal approach to study their intrinsic properties.However,it is very challenging to prepare large-area suspended 2D materials with high efficiency.Here we report a universal method,based on pretreatments of densely patterned hole array substrates with either oxygenplasma or gold film deposition,to prepare large-area suspended mono-and few-layer 2D materials.Multiple structural,optical,and electrical characterization tools were used to fully evaluate the improved performance of various suspended 2D layers.Some of these observations reported in this study are:(1)Observation of a new Raman low frequency mode for the suspended MoS_(2);(2)Significantly stronger photoluminescence(PL)and second harmonic generation(SHG)signals of suspended WSe_(2),which enables the study of new optical transition processes;(3)The low energy electron diffraction pattern on suspended MoS_(2) also exhibits much sharper spots than that on the supported area;and(4)The mobility of suspended graphene device approaches 300000 cm^(2) V^(-1) s^(-1),which is desirable to explore the intrinsic properties of graphene.This work provides an innovative and efficient route for fabricating suspended 2D materials,and we expect that it can be broadly used for studying intrinsic properties of 2D materials and in applications of hybrid active nanophotonic and electronic devices.Yuan Huang Yun-Kun Wang Xin-Yu Huang Guan-Hua Zhang Xu Han Yang Yang Yunan Gao Lei Meng Yushu Wang Guang-Zhou Geng Li-Wei Liu Lin Zhao Zhi-Hai Cheng Xin-Feng Liu Ze-Feng Ren Hui-Xia Yang Yufeng Hao Hong-Jun Gao Xing-Jiang Zhou Wei Ji Ye-Liang Wang 2022InfoMat2022,4,2:1
19A study on coupling technique and implementation of the wave-circulation coupled model显示文摘The coupler is fundamental for a coupled model to realize complex interactions among component models.This paper focuses on the coupling process of Wave-Circulation(W-C) coupled model which consists of MASNUM(key laboratory of marine science and numerical modeling wave model)and POM(Princeton Ocean Model).The current coupling module of this coupled model is based on the inefficient I/O file,which has already become a performance bottleneck especially when the coupled model utilizes a large number of processes.To improve the performance of the W-C model,a flexible coupling module based on the model coupling toolkit(MCT) is designed and implemented to replace the current I/O file coupling module in the coupled model.Empirical studies that we have carried out demonstrate that our online coupling module can dramatically improve the parallel performance of the coupled model.The online coupling module outperforms the I/O file coupling module.When processes increase to 96,the whole process of EXP-C takes only 695.8 seconds,which is only 58.8%of the execution time of EXP-F.Based on our experiments under 2D Parallel Decomposition(2DPD),we suggest setting parallel decomposition strategies automatically to component models in order to achieve high parallel efficiency.张志远 Liu Li Zhou Yufeng Zhang Cheng Li Ruizhe Chen Yushu Song Guojie Yang Guangwen 2014High Technology Letters2014,20,1:1
