1Friction and wear behaviors of MoS2-multi-walled-carbonnanotube hybrid reinforced polyurethane composite coating显示文摘MoS2-multi-walled-carbon-nanotube(MWCNT)hybrids containing two-dimensional MoS2 and one-dimensional MWCNTs were synthesized through a one-step hydrothermal reaction.X-ray-diffraction and transmission-electron-microscopy results demonstrated that MoS2 nanosheets were successfully synthesized,and uniformly anchored on the MWCNTs’surfaces.Furthermore,the effects of the Mo S2-MWCNT hybrids on the tribological performances of polyurethane composite coatings were investigated using a UMT-2MT tribo-tester.Friction and wear test results revealed that the friction coefficient and wear rate of a 3 wt%Mo S2-MWCNT-1 filled polyurethane composite coating were reduced by 25.6% and 65.5%,respectively.The outstanding tribological performance of the MoS2-MWCNT-1 reinforced polyurethane composite coating was attributed to the excellent load-carrying capacity of the MWCNTs and good lubricant ability of MoS2.The surface morphologies of the worn surfaces and counterpart ball surfaces were investigated to reveal the wear mechanisms.Zhaozhu ZHANG Mingming YANG Junya YUAN Fang GUO Xuehu MEN 2019Friction2019,7,4:7
2In situ reduction and functionalization of graphene oxide to improve the tribological behavior of a phenol formaldehyde composite coating显示文摘The development of a phenol formaldehyde/graphene(PF-graphene)composite coating with high performance is desirable but remains a challenge,because of the ultrahigh surface area and surface inertia of the graphene.Herein,we synthesized PF-graphene composites by the in situ polymerization of phenol and formaldehyde with the addition of graphene oxide,resulting in improved compatibility between the graphene and phenolic resin(PF)matrix and endowing the phenolic resin with good thermal stability and excellent tribological properties.Fourier-transform infrared(FTIR)spectra and X-ray diffraction(XRD)patterns demonstrated that the graphene oxide was reduced during the in-situ polymerization.The PF-graphene composites were sprayed onto steel blocks to form composite coatings.The effects of an applied load and of the sliding speed on the tribological properties of the PF-graphene composite coating were evaluated using a block-on-ring wear tester;in addition,the worn surface and the transfer film formed on the surface of the counterpart ring were studied by scanning electron microscopy(SEM).The results show that the PF-graphene composite coating exhibited enhanced tribological properties under all tested conditions.Mingming YANG Zhaozhu ZHANG Xiaotao ZHU Xuehu MEN Guina REN 2015Friction2015,3,1:6

4Preparation of superhydrophobic CdS cotton using visible light response and its application for the control of water pollution显示文摘Sewage discharge produced by homes and industries contains both oil and water-soluble components. In order to remove oil from water, materials with specific wettability can be used;however, these materials cannot remove dissolved contaminants from water. In this research, we prepared a superhydrophobic Cd S cotton for water purification. This material has the ability to adsorb different types of oil due to its non-wettability(WCA = 152°). Moreover, its response behavior towards visible light enables it to remove water-soluble pollutants as well. The highest oil absorption rate of superhydrophobic Cd S cotton is nearly 30 times, and it can absorb light below 564 nm and produce ·OH to degrade water soluble pollutants. Finally, based on Mott-Schottky curve,the position of Fermi energy level was determined(–0.55 e V). 5Fabrication of BiOBr-silicone aerogel photocatalyst in an aqueous system with degradation performance by sol-gel method显示文摘It is a challenge to endow the material with the ability to pollutants degradation while maintaining the oil/water separation performance. Herein, the mixed dispersion of BiOBr photocatalyst and silicone sol was adsorbed in melamine foam. Superhydrophobic BiOBr-silicone aerogel(WCA=154°) was obtained through the transfer melamine foam to an autoclave and reaction at 80℃ for 20 h. The prepared superhydrophobic BiOBr-silicone aerogel can effectively remove the water soluble pollutants which remain within the water phase after oil/water separation. The band gap of the superhydrophobic BiOBr-silicone aerogel was calculated to be 2.71 eV, which shows sensitivity to visible light(458 nm). Through mechanism analysis, it is found that the VB position of BiOBr is at 1.07 eV and the position of CB is at-1.64 eV. 6Implantable nerve guidance conduits:Material combinations,multi-functional strategies and advanced engineering innovations显示文摘Nerve guidance conduits(NGCs)have attracted much attention due to their great necessity and applicability in clinical use for the peripheral nerve repair.Great efforts in recent years have been devoted to the development of high-performance NGCs using various materials and strategies.The present review provides a comprehensive overview of progress in the material innovation,structural design,advanced engineering technologies and multi functionalization of state-of-the-art nerve guidance conduits NGCs.Abundant advanced engineering technologies including extrusion-based system,laser-based system,and novel textile forming techniques in terms of weaving,knitting,braiding,and electrospinning techniques were also analyzed in detail.Findings arising from this review indicate that the structural mimetic NGCs combined with natural and synthetic materials using advanced manufacturing technologies can make full use of their complementary advantages,acquiring better biomechanical properties,chemical stability and biocompatibility.Finally,the existing challenges and future opportunities of NGCs were put forward aiming for further research and applications of NGCs.Yixin Yan Ruotong Yao Jingyuan Zhao Kaili Chen Lirong Duan Tian Wang Shujun Zhang Jinping Guan Zhaozhu Zheng Xiaoqin Wang Zekun Liu Yi Li Gang Li 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,5:4
7Sliding wear behaviors of Nomex fabric/phenolic composite under dry and water-bathed sliding conditions显示文摘A Nomex fabric/phenolic composite was prepared,and its tribological properties were evaluated under dry and water‐bathed sliding conditions by a pin‐on‐disk tribometer.The resulting size of the friction coefficient for the Nomex fabric/phenolic composite in the study occurred in the following order:dry sliding condition>distilled water‐bathed sliding condition>sea water‐bathed sliding condition.The fabric composite’s wear rate from high to low was as follows:distilled water‐bathed sliding condition>sea water‐bathed sliding condition>dry sliding condition.Under water‐bathed sliding conditions,penetration of water into the cracks accelerated the composite’s invalidation process,resulting in a higher wear rate.We also found that the extent of corrosion and transfer film formed on the counterpart pin significantly influenced the wear rate of the Nomex fabric composite.Discussion of the Nomex fabric composite’s wear mechanisms under the sliding conditions investigated is provided on the basis of the characterization results.Guina REN Zhaozhu ZHANG Xiaotao ZHU Xuehu MEN Wei JIANG Weimin LIU 2014Friction2014,2,3:3
8Combined effects of interface modification and micro-filler reinforcements on the thermal and tribological performances of fabric composites显示文摘The high specific‐strength of glass fibers and exceptional self‐lubrication of polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE)fibers promote the potential application of hybrid PTFE/glass fabric composites in the tribological field,but their weak interfacial adhesion and inferior thermal properties significantly inhibit their tribological performance and reliability.Herein,a hybrid of polydopamine/silicon carbide/polyethyleneimine(PDA/SiC/PEI)functional coating was co‐deposited onto the hybrid PTFE/glass fabric surface through a one‐step impregnation method,leading to increased surface roughness and abundant amine groups.Tensile and peeling tests showed that this functional coating offered 47.8%enhancement in the fabric/matrix interfacial adhesion without compromising the strength of the pristine fabric.Moreover,the additional incorporation of WS_(2),and aluminum nitride(AlN)micro‐fillers contributed to the development of a high‐quality tribofilm and improved the thermal properties of fabric composites.The results of wear tests proved that the hybrid‐fabric composites,after the introduction of functional coating and micro‐fillers,exhibited outstanding tribological performance,which was attributed to the superior interfacial adhesion as well as the synergistic enhancement effects between WS2 and AlN micro‐fillers.Junya YUAN Zhaozhu ZHANG Mingming YANG Xin ZHAO Liangfei WU Peilong LI Wei JIANG Xuehu MEN Weimin LIU 2021Friction2021,9,5:3
9Fabrication of PTFE/Nomex fabric/phenolic composites using a layer-by-layer self-assembly method for tribology field application显示文摘Fabric composites are widely applied as self-lubricating liner for radial spherical plain bearings owing to their excellent mechanical and tribological properties.Nevertheless,the poor interfacial strength between fibers and the resin matrix limits the performance of composites utilized as tribomaterials.To overcome this drawback,a mild layer-by-layer(LbL)self-assembly method was successfully used to construct hybrid fabric composites in the present work.In addition,this investigation addressed the effect of self-assembly cycles on the friction and wear behaviors of hybrid fabric composites under dry sliding condition.The results demonstrate that fabric composites with three or more self-assembly cycles have significantly enhanced surface activities and anti-wear performances.The results obtained in this work can provide guidance in the preparation of self-lubricating liner composites and highlight how the LbL self-assembly techniques could influence the properties of hybrid fabric composites.Mingming YANG Zhaozhu ZHANG Junya YUAN Liangfei WU Xin ZHAO Fang GUO Xuehu MEN Weimin LIU 2020Friction2020,8,2:3
