1Microvascular decompression in patients with hemifacial spasm: report of 1200 cases显示文摘Background Microvascular Decompression (MVD) operation is the most reliable treatment for hemifacial spasm (HFS), but it causes many complications. The aim of this retrospective study was to investigate the factors relavent to the effects and postoperative complications of microvascular decompression on hemifacial spasm. Methods A total of 1200 HFS patients treated with MVD were studied retrospectively. The root exit zone (REZ) of the facial nerve was exposed through the infraflocculus approach, the offending vessels were identified and separated from the REZ, and a Teflon graft was interposed between the offending vessels and the brain stem. Brain stem auditory evoked potential (AEP) was monitored intraoperatively. Results The offending vessels can be identified in all patients. The anteroinferior cerebellar artery was the main offending vessel (42.6%). Patients with vertebral artery compression had a multiple vascular compression fashion. Follow-up for 2-10 years (mean 4.2 years) showed that 88.7% patients were cured and 5.6% relieved, with an effective rate of 94.3%. Recurrence rate was 3.2%, and the ineffective rate was 2.6%. The most frequent complication was hearing dysfunction (2.8%). Conclusions MVD is the most definitive treatment method of HFS. The key procedures of this operation include adequate exposure of the REZ, identification of the offending vessels, and proper positioning of Teflon grafts. 2U-Pb ages of Kude and Sajia leucogranites in Sajia dome from North Himalaya and their geological implications显示文摘U-Pb ages of zircon,monazite and xenotime from the Kude and the Sajia leucogranites in the Sajia dome of the North Hima- layan tectonic unit are measured using TIMS method. The results show that the magma emplacement ages for the Kude and the Sajia leu- cogranite are 27.5±0.5 and 14.4±0.2 Ma,respectively. Combined with published U-Pb data from the North Himalayan leu- cogranites,the time-span for the formation of the North Himalayan leucogranites is updated from 27.5 to 10 Ma,instead of previous 15 to 10 Ma.According to the U-Pb ages,the petrogenesis for the North Himalayan leucogranites can be constrained.It is suggested that the North Himalayan leu- cogranites have variety in their petrogenesis.ZHANGHongfei NigelHarris RandyParrish ZHANGLi ZHAOZidan 2004Chinese Science Bulletin2004,49,19:30
3Spatial segmentation characteristic of focal mechanism of aftershock sequence of Wenchuan Earthquake显示文摘Moment tensor solutions of 88 earthquakes were determined by using the broadband waveform data recorded in six stations within 450 km around the Wenchuan Earthquake sequence by means of the time domain moment tensor inversion method.It was found that the type of the focal mechanism solution is characteristic of obvious spatial segmentation.There are six segments along the main rupture zone from southwest to northeast,where initially the focal mechanism is of main thrust type,finally of main right-lateral strike-slip type and between these two areas there is a transition zone characterized in multiple types of focal mechanisms appearing in turn.Earthquakes of left-lateral strike-slip type perpendicular to the main rupture zone occurred near Xiaoyudong Town.The stress field of each segment is inversed by means of the FMSI program,and it was found that,along the main rupture zone from southwest to northeast,the direction of the maximum principal stress is gradually changing from near EW to NW-SE,and finally changing back to near EW.WANG QinCai CHEN ZhangLi ZHENG SiHua 2009Chinese Science Bulletin2009,54,13:20
4Source rupture process of Lushan M_S7.0 earthquake, Sichuan,China and its tectonic implications显示文摘The source rupture process of the MS7.0 Lushan earthquake was here evaluated using 40 long-period P waveforms with even azimuth coverage of stations.Results reveal that the rupture process of the Lushan MS7.0 event to be simpler than that of the Wenchuan earthquake and also showed significant differences between the two rupture processes.The whole rupture process lasted 36 s and most of the moment was released within the first 13 s.The total released moment is 1.9×1019N m with MW=6.8.Rupture propagated upwards and bilaterally to both sides from the initial point,resulting in a large slip region of 40 km×30 km,with the maximum slip of 1.8 m,located above the initial point.No surface displacement was estimated around the epicenter,but displacement was observed about 20 km NE and SW directions of the epicenter.Both showed slips of less than 40 cm.The rupture suddenly stopped at 20 km NE of the initial point.This was consistent with the aftershock activity.This phenomenon indicates the existence of significant variation of the medium or tectonic structure,which may prevent the propagation of the rupture and aftershock activity.The earthquake risk of the left segment of Qianshan fault is worthy of attention.ZHAO CuiPing ZHOU LianQing CHEN ZhangLi 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,28:13
5Antisense oligodeoxynucleotide inhibits vascular endothelial growth factor expression in U937 foam cells显示文摘AIM:To study the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) induced by oxidized low density liprotein (ox-LDL) and the inhibitory effects of antisense oligodeoxynucleotide (asODN) on the levels of VEGF protein and mRNA in the U937 foam cells. METHODS: U937 cells were incubated with ox-LDL 80 mg/L for 48h, then ,the foam cells were treated with asODN (0,5,10, and 20μmol/L). The VEGF concentration in the media was determined by ELISA. The VEGF protein expression level in cells was measured by immuohistochemistry; the positive ratio detected by a morphometrical analysis system was used as the amount of the VEGF expression level. The VEGF mRNA level was examined by Northern blotting. RESULTS: After U937 cells were incubated with ox-LDL, VEGF expression level increased greatly both in the cells and in the media. asODN markeldy inhibited the increase of VEGF. After treatment with asODN 20μmol/L, the VEGF protein concentration in the media decreased by 45.0%, the VEGF positive ratio detected by immuohistochemistry in cells decreased by 64.9%, and the VEGF mRNA level decreased by 47.1%. 6P-glycoprotein restricted transportof nimodipine across blood-brain barrier显示文摘AIM: To examine whether the transport of nimodipine (NMD) from the circulating blood into the brain is restrictedby P-glycoprotein (P-gp) in rat brain capillary endothelial cells (BCEC). METHODS: When cells reached confluence,a time course of NMD uptake was recorded by incubation with a medium containing NMD 10 mg/L at 37℃.Effects of various agents in the steady-state uptake of NMD were tested by co-administration with NMD and eachcompound to cells at 37℃ for 90 min. The uptake of NMD was measured for 90 min. Effects of P-gp inhibitorson the efflux of NMD from primary cultured BCEC were studied by administration of erythromycin, clarithromycin,cyclosporin A (CsA), and Hanks' solution after the accumulation of NMD by BCEC at 37℃ for 90 min. RESULTS:The uptake of NMD by primary cultured rat BCEC was time-dependent, and the steady-state uptake of NMD wasincreased in the presence of several substrates of P-gp in BCEC. The steady-state uptake was also significantlyincreased (P<0.01) when celluar ATP was depleted by treatment with sodium azide. Furthermore, efflux of NMDfrom BCEC was inhibited by erythromycin ,clarithromycin, and CsA. 7Effects of transforming growth factor beta 1 on the growth of rhabdomyosarcoma cell line RD显示文摘Backgroud Transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) can inhibit the growth of most epithelial and endothelial cells. The growth regulative role of TGF-β on soft tissue sarcoma was seldom reported. Here we examined TGF-β1 effects on the growth of human rhabdomyosarcoma cell RD and searched the relative molecular mechanism. Methods The viability of RD was examined by [ 3H]-thymidine incorporation and [3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-z-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetraz olium bromide] (MTT) assay. RD cell cycle was analysed by flow cytometry. The protein and mRNA of cell cycle regulative factors in RD were detected by Western blot and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reation (RT-PCR), respectively. The kinase activity of cdk2 or cdk4 was examined by immunoprecipitation and kinase assay. Immunofluorescent staining was used to detect the location of cell cycle regulative factors in RD by laser scanning confocal microscope.Results TGF-β1 inhibits RD proliferation by G1-arrest in cell cycle progression. TGF-β1 can prominently up-regulate P27 of RD, then augment P27 to bind cyclinE-cdk2 complexes, which effectively suppress cdk2 kinase activity. P21 increased and c-myc decreased in RD due to TGF-β1. Both P15 and cdk4 have not been involved in the growth inhibitory event. TGF-β1 treatment induced P27 to congregate around nucleus. P21 pervaded from nucleus to both nucleus and cytoplasm by TGF-β1 treatment.Conclusion TGF-β1 inhibits the proliferation of human rhabdomyosarcoma cell line RD and induces RD G1-arrest. This course is accomplished by TGF-β1 up-regulating P27 to suppress cdk2 kinase activity. 8Study of soil-solid adhesion by grey system theory显示文摘The adhesion of soil to solid surface is a complicated interfacial reaction that relates to many factors. Quantitative descriptions of the forming procedures and the conditions of the adhesion interface forming can provide a guidance to the design of the soil-engaging component surfaces with a good anti-adhesion performance. Using a self-developed soil adhesion measurement device, the mean area and mean thickness of the adhesion interface waterfilm and the interfacial adhesion force varied with soil water content and vertical loads are measured. According to the gray system theory, the differential equations of the mean area and the mean thickness of waterfilm and the adhesion force of the interface are developed. The consequences between or among the factors related to the adhesion interface forming process are analyzed quantitatively with the gray correlation analyzing theory. The forming procedure of the adhesion interface and the influence on the mechanic behaviour of soil adhering on a solid surface are demonstrated by the experiments. 9Identification and Characterization of ABA-Responsive MicroRNAs in Rice显示文摘MicroRNAs(miRNAs) are endogenous non-coding small RNAs that silence genes through mRNA degradation or translational inhibition.The phytohormone abscisic acid(ABA) is essential for plant development and adaptation to abiotic and biotic stresses.In Arabidopsis,miRNAs are implicated in ABA functions.However,ABA-responsive miRNAs have not been systematically studied in rice.Here high throughput sequencing of small RNAs revealed that 107 miRNAs were differentially expressed in the rice ABA deficient mutant,Osabal.Of these,13 were confirmed by stem-loop RT-PCR.Among them,miR1425-5P,miR169 a,miR169n,miR390-5P,miR397 a and miR397 b were up-regulated,but miR162 b reduced in expression in Osabal.The targets of these 13 miRNAs were predicted and validated by gene expression profiling.Interestingly,the expression levels of these miRNAs and their targets were regulated by ABA.Cleavage sites were detected on 7 of the miRNA targets by 5'-Rapid Amplification of cDNA Ends(5'-RACE).Finally,miR162 b and its target OsTREl were shown to affect rice resistance to drought stress,suggesting that miR162 b increases resistance to drought by targeting OsTREl.Our work provides important information for further characterization and functional analysis of ABA-responsive miRNAs in rice.Caijuan Tian Zhangli Zuo Jin-Long Qiu 2015Journal of Genetics and Genomics2015,42,7:6
10Leaf area index retrieval based on canopy reflectance and vegetation index in eastern China显示文摘The aim of this paper is to investigate the feasibility of using Landsat TM data to retrieve leaf area index (LAI). To get a LAI retrieval model based ground reflectance and vegetation index, detailed field data were collected in the study area of eastern China, dominated by bamboo, tea plant and greengage. Plant canopy reflectance of Landsat TM wavelength bands has been inversed using software of 6S. LAI is an important ecological parameter. In this paper, atmospheric corrected Landsat TM imagery was utilized to calculate different vegetation indices (VI), such as simple ratio vegetation index (SR), shortwave infrared modified simple ratio (MSR), and normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI). Data of 53 samples of LAI were measured by LAI-2000 (LI-COR) in the study area. LAI was modeled based on different reflectances of bands and different vegetation indices from Landsat TM and LAI samples data. There are certainly correlations between LAI and the reflectance of TM3, TM4, TM5 and TM7. The best model through analyzing the results is LAI = 1.2097*MSR + 0.4741 using the method of regression analysis. The result shows that the correlation coefficient R2 is 0.5157, and average accuracy is 85.75%. 11Rupture process of the Wenchuan M8.0 earthquake of Sichuan, China: the segmentation feature显示文摘Moment tensor solution, rupture process and rupture characteristics of the great Wenchuan M8.0 earthquake are studied by using 39 long-period P and SH waveforms with evenly azimuth coverage of stations. Our results reveal that the Wenchuan M8.0 event consisted of 5 sub-events of Mw≥7.3 occurring succesively in time and space. Rupture started with a Mw7.3 introductory strike-slip faulting in the first 12 s, then within 12?40 s, two sub-events with Mw7.6 and Mw7.4 occurred within 80 km northeast from the initial point with the dominant rupture type of thrust moving. From 40 to 62 s, a Mw7.5 and Mw7.4 right-lateral strike-slip type of sub-events occurred on the two sides of Beichuan, 120 km away northeast from the initial point. The whole rupture process lasted 105 s and unilaterally propagated from the initial point on the WS section of the Yingxiu-Beichuan fault to the NE direction, resulting in a 230-km-long surface rupture zone and the average surface dislocation is up to 4 m. Two asperities are identified and the whole rupture process is formed by WS and NE parts. In the WS part named Dujiangyang-Wenchuan, where the initial point is located, the rupture process showed reverse faulting with the maximum slip of 8.2 m. Around Mianzhu, rupture changed to right-lateral strike slip faulting and formed a Beichuan-Qingchuan large slip area. The rupture area on this part is about 10 km in depth, shallower than on the WS part. The maximum slip is 6.53 m. Consequently, there formed 2 segments with the surface dislocation larger than 6 m. One is the Dujiangyan-Wenchuan segment with the maximum surface displacement of 6.44 m, the other is the Beichuan-Qingchuan segment with the maximum surface displacement of 6.53 m. 12The interference opportunity of the fat emboli occurring after fractures of long bone or pelvis显示文摘Objective: To search for the interference oppoaunity of fat emboli after fracture of long bone or pelvis. Methods: 86patients were selected and divided into urine ketone positive group (UKP group) and urine ketone negative group (UKN group).The clinical data (including clinical and sub- clinical fat embolism) of all cases were analyzed. The incidence rate of fat embo-lism and the serum triglyceride (TG) level were compared between the two groups. Results: 7 patients with ketonuria had fat em-bolism, 3 of them had progressive blood sedimentation and platelet abnormality. The incidence rate of fat embolism and the serumTG level in UKP group was higher than that in UKN group. There was a significant difference between the UKP group ( P < 0.05)and the UKN group ( P < 0.01). Conclusion: The results suggested that the patients have a higher risk of fat embolism when theserum TG level is high, and results in ketonuria. 13A Novel Admission Control Algorithm Based on Negotiation and Price显示文摘Admission control algorithm is a key component of a media server which supports Quality of Service (QoS). In this paper we present an admission control algorithm that exploits the elastic properties of the user requirements and the changing properties of system conditions. The characteristic of the algorithm can be expounded from these aspects: First, it provides multiple services to satisfy the different users’ requirements regarding QoS and price. Second, it uses a worth function to select from media services with different QoS characteristics in the negotiation process. Finally, it employs a novel price policy to compute the charge for the service, which has a great effect on restricting the greediness of the users and therefore increase the overall user benefit. 14Cell responses of Dunaliella salina FACHB 435 (Green Alga) to microgravitational stimulation by clinorotation显示文摘Clinorotation experiments were established to simulate microgravity on ground. It was found that there were obvious changes of Dunaliella salina FACHB435 cells and their metabolic characteristics during clinorotation. The changes included the increases of glycerol content, the rate of H + secretion and PM H + ATPase activity, and the decrease of ratio of the plasma membrane (PM) phospholipid to PM protein. These results indicated that microgravity was a stress environment to Dunaliella salina . 15The Characteristic Analysis and Seismic Triggering Study of the M6.2 and M6.1 Dayao Earthquake Sequences in 2003显示文摘The high-resolution hypocenter locations of the mainshocks on July 21 (M6.2) and October 16, 2003 (M6.1) and their aftershock sequences are determined in Dayao, Yunnan by using a double-difference earthquake location algorithm. The results show that the epicenters of the two mainshocks are very close to each other and the distribution of the aftershock sequence appears to be very linear. The distribution of the earthquake sequence is very consistent with the focal mechanism, and both mainshocks are of nearly vertical right-lateral fault. Unlike most other double earthquakes in the Yunnan area, the aftershock distribution of the M6.2 and M6.1 Dayao earthquakes does not appear to be a conjugated distribution but to be in a line, and there are some stacks in the two earthquake sequences. It can be inferred that they are all controlled by the same fault. The distribution of aftershocks is asymmetrical with respect to the mainshock location and appears to be unilateral. The aftershocks of the M6.2 mainshock centralize in the northwest of M6.2 earthquake and the aftershocks of the M6.1 earthquake are in the southeast of the mainshock, moreover, the M6.1 earthquake appears to be another rupture on the southeastern extension of the same fault as the M6.2 earthquake. The results of Coulomb failure static stress changes Δσ_f show that the earthquake on July 21 (M6.2) apparently triggered the earthquake on October 16 (M6.1), the two mainshocks have stress triggering to their off-fault aftershocks to different extents, and the M6.5 earthquake that occurred in Yao’an in 2000 also triggered the occurrence of the two Dayao earthquakes.Hua Wei Liu Jie Zheng Sihua Chen Zhangli 2006Earthquake Research in China2006,20,4:3
16A Polaron in a Quantum Dot quantum Well显示文摘The polaron effect in a quantum dot quantum well (QDQW)system is investigated by using the perturbation method. Both the bound electron states outside and inside the shell well are taken into account . 17Effects of Combined Instantaneous High-Pressure and MediumTemperature on the Retention of Total Vitamin Cin Wax Gourd Juices显示文摘Based on the instantaneous high-pressure(IHP) produced by high-pressure single pole-cylinder pump, the effects of combining this pressure with medium temperature on the retention of total vitamin C(Vc) in wax gourd juices were investigated under 20-80 MPa, 35-58℃, pH 3.0-6.0 and processing time 0-8 min. Results showed that the loss of Vc increased with elevated processing temperatures (50 MPa, 4 min). When the temperature of raw juices was 35℃, the retention of total Vc was higher under 40-60 MPa than that under the pressure < 40 MPa or > 60 MPa, and it was up to 94% (4 min). The retention of total Vc decreases slowly within 6 min, but rapidly after 6 min. 19Sequential activation of uterine epithelial IGF1R by stromal IGF1 and embryonic IGF2 directs normal uterine preparation for embryo implantation显示文摘Embryo implantation in both humans and rodents is initiated by the attachment of a blastocyst to the uterine epithelium.For blastocyst attachment,the uterine epithelium needs to transform at both the structural and molecular levels first,and then initiate the interaction with trophectoderm.Any perturbation during this process will result in implantation failure or long-term adverse pregnancy outcomes.Endocrine steroid hormones,which function through nuclear receptors,combine with the local molecules produced by the uteri or embryo to facilitate implantation.The insulin-like growth factor(IGF)signaling has been reported to play a vital role during pregnancy.However,its physiological function during implantation remains elusive.This study revealed that mice with conditional deletion of Igflr gene in uteri suffered from subfertility,mainly due to the disturbed uterine receptivity and abnormal embryo implantation.Mechanistically,we uncovered that in response to the nidatory estrogen on D4 of pregnancy,the epithelial IGF1R,stimulated by the stromal cell-produced IGF1,facilitated epithelial STAT3 activation to modulate the epithelial depolarity.Furthermore,embryonic derived IGF2 could activate both the epithelial ERK1/2 and STAT3 signaling through IGF1R,which was critical for the transcription of Cox2 and normal attachment reaction.In brief,our data revealed that epithelial IGF1R was sequentially activated by the uterine stromal IGF1 and embryonic IGF2 to guarantee normal epithelium differentiation during the implantation process.Chan Zhou Meiying Lv Peike Wang Chuanhui Guo Zhangli Ni Haili Bao Yedong Tang Han Cai Jinhua Lu Wenbo Deng Xiaoyu Yang Guoliang Xia Haibin Wang Chao Wang Shuangbo Kong 2021Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2021,13,9:2
