| 2 | Gengnianchun recipe inhibits apoptosis of pheochromocytoma cells from beta-amyloid 25-35 insult, better than monotherapies and their compounds显示文摘This study aims to determine and compare the protective effects of Gengnianchun recipe drug serum and compounds of its representative drug monotherapies against sympathetic nerve pheochromocytoma cell line PC12 cells damaged by beta-amyloid 25-35 at the cellular apoptosis and related signal pathway levels. PC12 cells cultured with medicated rat serum showed enhanced cell viability and reduced cellular apoptosis rates compared with those of monotherapies and their compounds. Furthermore, Gengnianchun recipe up-regulated expressions of anti-apoptotic protein Bcl-2, estrogen receptor-beta and phosphorylated extracellular-signal-regulated kinase 1/2; and down-regulated expressions of pro-apoptotic proteins Bax and caspase-3. Gengnianchun recipe was superior to representative drug monotherapies, such as paeoniflorin, berberine, timosaponin A-III, icariine and their compounds in protecting PC12 cells. Mitogen-activated protein kinase blocker and estrogen receptor antagonist were found to reverse the above effects of Gengnianchun recipe. The experimental findings indicate that, Gengnianchun recipe protects PC12 cells from beta-amyloid 25-35 insult; its inhibitory effect on apoptosis may be achieved through the mitogen-activated protein kinase and estrogen receptor pathways. | Jun Li Wenjun Wang Dajin Li Wenjiang Zhou | 2011 | Neural Regeneration Research2011,6,36: | 1 |
| 3 | Ginsenoside Rh3 induces pyroptosis and ferroptosis through the Stat3/p53/NRF2 axis in colorectal cancer cells显示文摘Ginsenoside Rh3(GRh3)is a seminatural product obtained by chemical processing after isolation from Chinese herbal medicine that has strong antitumor activity against human tumors.However,its antitumor role remains to be elucidated.The aim of this study is to explore the mechanisms underlying the tumor suppressive activity of GRh3 from the perspective of pyroptosis and ferroptosis.GRh3 eliminates colorectal cancer(CRC)cells by activating gasdermin D(GSDMD)-dependent pyroptosis and suppressing solute carrier family 7 member 11(SLC7A11),resulting in ferroptosis activation through the Stat3/p53/NRF2 axis.GRh3 suppresses nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2(NRF2)entry into the nucleus,leading to the decrease of heme oxygenase 1(HO-1)expression,which in turn promotes NOD-like receptor thermal protein domain associated protein 3(NLRP3)and caspase-1 expression.Finally,caspase-1 activates GSDMD-dependent pyroptosis.Furthermore,GRh3 prevents NRF2 from entering the nucleus,which suppresses SLC7A11,causing the depletion of glutathione(GSH)and accumulation of iron,lipid reactive oxygen species(ROS)and malondialdehyde(MDA),and eventually leading to ferroptosis in CRC cells.In addition,GRh3 effectively inhibits the proliferation of CRC cells in vitro and in nude mouse models.Collectively,GRh3 triggers pyroptotic cell death and ferroptotic cell death in CRC cells via the Stat3/p53/NRF2 axis with minimal harm to normal cells,showing great anticancer potential. | Yingchao Wu Dajin Pi Shuyao Zhou Zhongjia Yi Yangyang Dong Wuhong Wang Huan Ye Yiliu Chen Qian Zuo Mingzi Ouyang | 2023 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2023,55,4: | 1 |

| 5 | The preparation process and feature of the topological insulator Bi_2Te_3显示文摘Topological insulators are insulating in the bulk but have metallic surface states. Its unique physicochemical properties can find numerous applications in electronics, spintronics, photonics, the energy sciences, and the signal control of transportation. We report an experimental approach to synthesize the high-quality single crystal of topological insulator Bi2Te3by using self-flux method. We obtained the optimal preparation conditions by adjusting the parameters of heat treatment, and successfully prepared the single-crystal Bi2Te3sample. The as-grown samples have a surface with bright metallic luster and are soft and fragile. Furthermore, Bi2Te3has the obvious layer structure from SEM results. The data of X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscope show that Bi2Te3single crystal grows along the c-axis with the order of Te(1)–Bi–Te(2)–Bi–Te(1)and crystallizes in the hexagonal system with space group of R/3 m.
