| 1 | Enhanced Poly(ethylene terephthalate)Hydrolase Activity by Protein Engineering显示文摘Poly(ethylene terephthalate)hydrolase(PETase)from Ideonella sakaiensis exhibits a strong ability to degrade poly(ethylene terephthalate)(PET)at room temperature,and is thus regarded as a potential tool to solve the issue of polyester plastic pollution.Therefore,we explored the interaction between PETase and the substrate(a dimer of the PET monomer ethylene terephthalate,2PET),using a model of PETase and its substrate.In this study,we focused on six key residues around the substrate-binding groove in order to create novel high-efficiency PETase mutants through protein engineering.These PETase mutants were designed and tested.The enzymatic activities of the R61A,L88F,and I179F mutants,which were obtained with a rapid cell-free screening system,exhibited 1.4 fold,2.1 fold,and 2.5 fold increases,respectively,in comparison with wild-type PETase.The I179F mutant showed the highest activity,with the degradation rate of a PET film reaching 22.5 mg perμmol·L^-1 PETase per day.Thus,this study has created enhanced artificial PETase enzymes through the rational protein engineering of key hydrophobic sites,and has further illustrated the potential of biodegradable plastics. | Yuan Ma Mingdong Yao Bingzhi Li Mingzhu Ding Bo He Si Chen Xiao Zhou Yingjin Yuan | 2018 | Engineering2018,4,6: | 10 |

| 4 | Application and Residue Pollution of Mulching Films in Xinjiang显示文摘In order to study current situation of application,recycling and residue pollution of mulching films in Xinjiang,and accurately grasp pollution degree of residue of mulching films,this paper made an empirical analysis on residue of mulching films in 31 typical counties and cities in Xinjiang. Results indicate that( i) use of mulching films in Xinjiang is wide and there is great difference in use and residue recycling between cities and counties. Planting area and planting structure jointly influence use of mulching films,and the use of mulching films is significantly correlated with recycling of mulching films,but not correlated with recycling rate of mulching films.( ii) There are significant differences in distribution of residue of mulching films,highest in North Xinjiang and South Xinjiang,followed by East Xinjiang,and the lowest in West Xinjiang.( iii) There are significant differences in distribution of residue of mulching films between different crop fields. | 12 | Ionic porous polyamide derived N-doped carbon towards highly selective electroreduction of CO_(2)显示文摘Electrochemical CO_(2) reduction reaction(CO_(2) RR) has attracted growing attention in energy storage and sustainable production of fuels and chemicals. N-doped carbon materials are preferred metal-free electrocatalysts, but it remains one challenge to finely engineer the active sites and porosity. Herein, we demonstrated that ionic porous polyamides were a kind of versatile precursors to prepare functional carbon materials in a one-step pyrolysis process. The polyamide precursors allowed the maintenance of abundant N species at high temperatures. The existence of ionic moieties and large specific surface area of the precursors promoted the formation of larger porosity carbon with a large specific surface area and sufficient active graphitic-N species by controlling the pyrolysis temperature. The catalyst was highly selective in the CO_(2) RR to produce CO with a maximum Faraday efficiency above 99%, attributable to the improved mass transfer in a large porosity system. | 13 | Controlling the Si/C ratio in SiC matrix based on the modified polymethysilane for C/C-SiC composites with enhanced mechanical properties显示文摘Fabricating SiC matrix with controllable Si/C ratio for C/C-SiC composites via precursor infiltration and pyrolysis is difficult to realize due to the absence of suitable precursors.Here,SiC precursors with Si-rich(Si/C=1.23),nearstoichiometric(Si/C=1.01),and C-rich(Si/C=0.88)pyrolyzed ceramics at 1200℃ were successfully synthesized by the novel modification of polymethysilane.The structure and ceramization of synthesized SiC precursors were studied,and C/C-SiC composites with similar Si/C ratio in SiC matrix were also fabricated.The results revealed that the defects and Young’s modulus of SiC matrix and the thermal residual stress on pyrolytic carbon coated carbon fiber were determined by the Si/C ratio.As a result,the Si/C ratio exerted significant effects on the crack deflection behavior and the mechanical properties of the composites.The composites with near-stoichiometric SiC matrix showed excellent mechanical properties because of the effective crack deflection and the moderate Young’s modulus of their SiC matrix.The flexural strength,flexural modulus,and compressive strength were 423±27 MPa,33.41±4.52 GPa,and 393±8 MPa,respectively.Meanwhile,after a heat treatment at 1600℃,the role of carbon fiber toughening was improved and accompanied by a decrease in mechanical properties for all composites,which was attributed to the increased defects in SiC matrix and the damaged interfaces by the thermal residual stress. | Mingdong Liao Xiebo Hu Chenghao Zhong Ping Xu Xiaodong Wang Ze Zhang Peng Zhou Mingyu Zhang Zhean Su Qizhong Huang | 2024 | Journal of Advanced Ceramics2024,13,2: | 0 |
