Performance analysis for range expansion in heterogeneous networks显示文摘In this paper, the uplink and downlink performance of a two tier heterogeneous network(HetNet)with range expansion(RE)is analyzed.Different from previous works, base stations(BSs)are modeled as a spatial Poisson point process. This model can not only capture the irregularity of the BS deployment but also lead to closed form expressions. With the analytical results, the impacts of several key parameters on the coverage and throughput performance are investigated. Our results justifies the effectiveness of RE and Pico deployment.Based on our analyses, certain attention should be made on the RE design to balance the uplink and downlink performance. Our analyses are corroborated by simulations and can thus serve as a flexible and quick guidance for system design without complicated and time consuming system level platform construction and simulation. | FEI ZeSong DING HaiChuan XING ChengWen NI JiQing KUANG JingMing | 2014 | Science China(Information Sciences)2014,57,8: | 11
Ergodic secrecy rate of two-user MISO interference channels with statistical CSI显示文摘This paper considers a two-user multiple-input single-output(MISO) interference channel with confidential messages(IFC-CM), where the beamforming vectors at the two transmitters are jointly optimized using the closed-form Pareto-optimal parameterization. We prove that artificial noise cannot improve the secrecy rate performance, and coordinated beamforming is secrecy-rate optimal which is achieved by agreeing on the parameters between the two transmitters. We analyze the feasible set of the beamforming parameters that guarantees positiveness of the secrecy rates when the transmitters know only statistical CSI, and then analysis in the ergodic secrecy rate region is discussed. More importantly, we derive the closed form of the ergodic secrecy rates and illustrate the Pareto-optimal structure of the beamforming vectors. | FEI ZeSong NI JiQing ZHAO Di XING ChengWen WANG NiWei KUANG JingMing | 2014 | Science China(Information Sciences)2014,57,10: | 7
Probabilistic-constrained robust secure transmission for energy harvesting over MISO channels显示文摘In this paper, we consider a system supporting simultaneous wireless information and power transfer(SWIPT), where the transmitter delivers private message to a destination receiver(DR) and powers to multiple energy receivers(ERs) with multiple single-antenna external eavesdroppers(Eves). We study secure robust beamformer and power splitting(PS) design under imperfect channel state information(CSI).The artificial noise(AN) scheme is further utilized at the transmitter to provide strong wireless security. We aim at maximizing the energy harvested by ERs subject to the transmission power constraint, a range of outage constraints concerning the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio(SINR) recorded at the DR and the Eves, as well as concerning the energy harvested at the DR. The energy harvesting maximization(EHM)problem is challenging to directly solve, we resort to Bernstein-type inequality restriction technique to reformulate the original problem as a tractable approximated version. Numerical results show that our robust beamforming scheme outperforms the beamforming scheme relying on the worst-case design philosophy. | Bin LI Zesong FEI | 2018 | Science China(Information Sciences)2018,61,2: | 7
Cooperative Jamming for Physical Layer Security in Hybrid Satellite Terrestrial Relay Networks显示文摘To integrate the satellite communications with the LTE/5G services, the concept of Hybrid Satellite Terrestrial Relay Networks(HSTRNs) has been proposed. In this paper, we investigate the secure transmission in a HSTRN where the eavesdropper can wiretap the transmitted messages from both the satellite and the intermediate relays. To effectively protect the message from wiretapping in these two phases, we consider cooperative jamming by the relays, where the jamming signals are optimized to maximize the secrecy rate under the total power constraint of relays. In the first phase, the Maximal Ratio Transmission(MRT) scheme is used to maximize the secrecy rate, while in the second phase, by interpolating between the sub-optimal MRT scheme and the null-space projection scheme, the optimal scheme can be obtained via an efficient one-dimensional searching method. Simulation results show that when the number of cooperative relays is small, the performance of the optimal scheme significantly outperforms that of MRT and null-space projection scheme. When the number of relays increases, the performance of the null-space projection approaches that of the optimal one. | Su Yan Xinyi Wang Zongling Li Bin Li Zesong Fei | 2019 | China Communications2019,16,12: | 7
Power allocation for OFDM-based cognitive heterogeneous networks显示文摘In this paper, the capacity maximization and the spectrum utilization efficiency improvement are investigated for the Pico cells in broadband heterogeneous networks. In frequency-reuse model, the users attached to Macro base station are usually viewed as primary users, and those attached to Pico base station should be regarded as cognitive radio(CR) users. As both the primary users and the CR users communicate in parallel frequency bands, the performance of the system is limited by the mutual inter-carrier interference(ICI).In order to control ICI and maximize the achievable transmission rate of the CR users,an effective power allocation scheme is proposed to maximize the transmission rate of the CR users under a given interference threshold prescribed by the primary users.By transforming this suboptimal solution into an innovative matrix expression, the algorithm is easier to perform in practice. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm provides a large performance gain in Pico cell capacity over the non-cooperative and equal power allocation schemes. | FEI ZeSong XING ChengWen LI Na HAN YanTao DANEV Danyo KUANG JingMing | 2013 | Science China(Information Sciences)2013,56,4: | 5
Statistically robust resource allocation for distributed multi-carrier cooperative networks显示文摘In this paper, we investigate joint subcarrier and power allocation scheme for distributed multicarrier cooperative networks with imperfect channel state information. Using practical channel estimation algorithms, the statistic model of the channel estimation error is first derived. Then based on the channel error model, the resource allocation scheme aims at maximizing the sum rate of the overall network. Specifically, both subcarrier allocation and power allocation are taken into account. In the subcarrier allocation, a realistic problem of the power leakage between neighboring subcarriers is also addressed. Furthermore, based on Lagrange dual-decomposition algorithm, a practical power allocation algorithm is proposed. Finally, the simulation results demonstrate the performance advantages of the proposed robust design. | XING ChengWen FEI ZeSong LI Na HAN YanTao DANEV Danyo KUANG JingMing | 2013 | Science China(Information Sciences)2013,56,2: | 5
Resource Allocation for Physical Layer Security in Heterogeneous Network with Hidden Eavesdropper显示文摘The tremendous performance gain of heterogeneous networks(Het Nets) is at the cost of complicated resource allocation. Considering information security, the resource allocation for Het Nets becomes much more challenging and this is the focus of this paper. In this paper, the eavesdropper is hidden from the macro base stations. To relax the unpractical assumption on the channel state information on eavesdropper, a localization based algorithm is first given. Then a joint resource allocation algorithm is proposed in our work, which simultaneously considers physical layer security, cross-tier interference and joint optimization of power and subcarriers under fairness requirements. It is revealed in our work that the considered optimization problem can be efficiently solved relying on convex optimization theory and the Lagrangian dual decomposition method is exploited to solve the considered problem effectively. Moreover, in each iteration the closed-form optimal resource allocation solutions can be obtained based on the Karush-Kuhn-Tucker(KKT) conditions. Finally, the simulation results are given to show the performance advantages of the proposed algorithm. | GONG Shiqi XING Chengwen FEI Zesong KUANG Jingming | 2016 | China Communications2016,13,3: | 5
Cooperative beamforming design for physical-layer security of multi-hop MIMO communications显示文摘The security issue is critically important for wireless communications, especially for multi-hop communications. In this paper, we propose a cooperative secrecy beamforming scheme for a multi-hop MIMO communication network, in which there is a single-antenna source, multiple multi-antenna relays and a singleantenna destination. Moreover, two types of eavesdroppers exist in the network, one of which has known channel state information(CSI), while the other not. To achieve security communications, in our work null-space beamforming and artificial noise beamforming are jointly optimized to improve the secrecy rate of the multi-hop network. In nature, the joint optimization is nonconvex and challenging. Exploiting its structure, the considered optimization problem is decoupled into a series of subproblems that can be efficiently solved based on convex optimization theory. Finally, some numerical experiment results are provided to assess the performance of the proposed secrecy beamforming design. | Shiqi GONG Chengwen XING Zesong FEI Jingming KUANG | 2016 | Science China(Information Sciences)2016,59,6: | 4
V2X-Communication Assisted Interference Minimization for Automotive Radars显示文摘With the development of automated driving vehicles, more and more vehicles will be fitted with more than one automotive radars, and the radar mutual interference will become very significant. Vehicle to everything (V2X) communication is a potential way for coordinating automotive radars and reduce the mutual interference. In this paper, we analyze the positional relation of the two radars that interfere with each other, and evaluate the mutual interference for different types of automotive radars based on Poisson point process (PPP). We also propose a centralized framework and the corresponding algorithm, which relies on V2X communication systems to allocate the spectrum resources for automotive radars to minimize the interference. The minimum spectrum resources required for zero-interference are analyzed for different cases. Simulation results validate the analysis and show that the proposed framework can achieve near-zero-interference with the minimum spectrum resources. | Jingxuan Huang Zesong Fei Tianxiong Wang Xinyi Wang Fan Liu Haijun Zhou J.Andrew Zhang Guohua Wei | 2019 | China Communications2019,16,10: | 4
Performance analysis for uplink massive MIMO systems with a large and random number of UEs显示文摘In this paper, we analyze the ergodic achievable rate of an uplink massive multi-user multipleinput multiple-output(MIMO) system with a large and Poisson distributed number of users. In the considered scenario, multiple user equipments(UEs) transmit their information to a base station equipped with a very large number of antennas. New asymptotic expressions for the ergodic achievable rate for large and deterministic number of users are derived for both maximum ratio combining(MRC) detector and zero-forcing(ZF) detector,as well as the ergodic achievable rate for large and random number of users. Simulation results assess the accuracy of these analytical expressions. It is shown that compared with the MRC detector, ZF detector can achieve much higher spectrum efficiency. Also, the results provide a meaningful fact that with different settings the randomness of the number of users will result in different extents of impact on the performance of massive MIMO. | Ang YANG Chengwen XING Zesong FEI Jingming KUANG | 2016 | Science China(Information Sciences)2016,59,2: | 4
Outage probability analysis for superposition coded symmetric relaying显示文摘Superposition coded symmetric relaying is a bandwidth-efficient cooperative scheme where each source node simultaneously transmits both its own 'local' packet and 'relay' packet that originated at its partner by adding the modulated local and relay signals in Euclidean space. This paper investigates the power allocation and outage probability of a superposition coded symmetric relaying system with finite-constellation signaling. We first derive the mutual information (MI) metrics for the system. The derived MI metrics consist of two parts: one represents the MI conveyed by the modulated signal corresponding to its own data, and the other represents the MI conveyed by the modulated signal corresponding to its partner's data. Using MI based effective signal-to-noise ratio mapping technique, we attain expressions for the outage probability. Furthermore, we discuss power allocation policies that minimize the outage probability. Simulation results are presented to verify the correctness of the outage probability analysis and the benefits of the power allocation. | WU Yi ZHENG Meng FEI ZeSong LARSSON Erik G. | 12 | QoE-driven resource allocation for mobile IP services in wireless network显示文摘In this study, quality of experience(QoE)-driven resource allocation for multi-applications in Internet Protocol(IP)-based wireless networks is studied. Considering that the mean opinion score(MOS) summation maximization problem is not fair to satisfy heterogeneous users' QoE with various mobile applications, we apply multi-objective optimization method to maximize each user's MOS utility. At the beginning of this work, the relationship between MOS utility and user transmission rate for three multimedia applications, that is, File Download, Internet Protocol Television, and Voice over Internet Protocol are discussed. However, the relations under diverse evaluation models are quite different and users in various mobile applications have different requirements, which make the optimization problem difficult to solve. To meet each user's minimum rate requirement, the idea of Nash bargaining solution is applied in the Hungarian-based subcarrier assignment problem. Then to simplify the power allocation problem, the concept of equivalent channel is introduced. Further by applying the tolerance membership function, we develop a fuzzy Max-Min decision model for generating an optimal power allocation solution. Simulation results demonstrate the satisfying characteristics of the proposed algorithm in terms of MOS utility and average data rate. | FEI ZeSong XING ChengWen LI Na | 2015 | Science China(Information Sciences)2015,58,1: | 3
Energy-Efficient Transceiver Design for Multi-Pair Two-Way Relay Systems显示文摘In this paper, we focus on energy-efficient transceiver and relay beamforming design for multi-pair two-way relay system. The multi-antenna users and the multi-antenna relay are considered in this work. Different from the existing works, the proposed algorithm is energy-efficient which is more applicable to the future green network. It considers both the sum-MSE problem and the power consumption problem for the users under the relay power constraint. Based on the optimal condition decomposition(OCD) method, the energy-efficient precoders at the users can be designed separately with limited information exchanged. The proposed relay beamforming algorithm is based on the alternative direction method of multipliers(ADMM) which has simpler iterative solution and enjoys good convergence. | 15 | Intelligent Task Offloading and Collaborative Computation in Multi-UAV-Enabled Mobile Edge Computing显示文摘This article establishes a three-tier mobile edge computing(MEC) network, which takes into account the cooperation between unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs). In this MEC network, we aim to minimize the processing delay of tasks by jointly optimizing the deployment of UAVs and offloading decisions, while meeting the computing capacity constraint of UAVs. However, the resulting optimization problem is nonconvex, which cannot be solved by general optimization tools in an effective and efficient way. To this end, we propose a two-layer optimization algorithm to tackle the non-convexity of the problem by capitalizing on alternating optimization. In the upper level algorithm, we rely on differential evolution(DE) learning algorithm to solve the deployment of the UAVs. In the lower level algorithm, we exploit distributed deep neural network(DDNN) to generate offloading decisions. Numerical results demonstrate that the two-layer optimization algorithm can effectively obtain the near-optimal deployment of UAVs and offloading strategy with low complexity. | Jingming Xia Peng Wang Bin Li Zesong Fei | 2022 | China Communications2022,19,4: | 3
AI-Enhanced Constellation Design for NOMA System: A Model Driven Method显示文摘Grant-free Non-orthogonal Multiple Access(GF-NOMA)is a promising technology for massive access users and sporadic small-packet transmission for Beyond the 5th Generation mobile communication system(B5G)/the 6th Generation mobile communication system(6G).One of the key aspects in GF-NOMA system is the signature/constellation design. However, due to the channel variation and random activation of users, conventional optimization approaches seem unsuitable for such complex models. In this paper,as an initial attempt,we propose a human intelligence(HI)-guided artificial intelligence(AI)-enhanced signature/constellation design method.By separate design of modulation and power allocation inspired by prior knowledge, the proposed deep neuron network(DNN)for NOMA signature/constellation design not only has smaller size of DNN and less training data, but also has stronger interpretability. In the last section, via simulations we demonstrate that in terms of bit error rate, the proposed scheme can achieve significant performance gain over the conventional NOMA schemes. | Sen Wang Hanxiao Yu Yifei Yuan Guangyi Liu Zesong Fei | 2020 | China Communications2020,17,11: | 3
HAS Dynamic Buffer-Driven Resource Management to Enhance QoE in Mobile Network显示文摘Hypertext transfer protocol(HTTP) adaptive streaming(HAS) plays a key role in mobile video transmission. Considering the multi-segment and multi-rate features of HAS, this paper proposes a buffer-driven resource management(BDRM) method to enhance HAS quality of experience(QoE) in mobile network. Different from the traditional methods only focusing on base station side without considering the buffer, the proposed method takes both station and client sides into account and end user's buffer plays as the drive of whole schedule process. The proposed HAS QoE influencing factors are composed of initial delay, rebuffering and quality level. The BDRM method decomposes the HAS QoE maximization problem into client and base station sides separately to solve it in multicell and multi-user video playing scene in mobile network. In client side, the decision is made based on buffer probe and rate request algorithm by each user separately. It guarantees the less rebuffering events and decides which HAS segment rate to fetch. While, in the base station side, the schedule of wireless resource is made to maximize the quality level of all access clients and decides the final rate pulled from HAS server. The drive of buffer and twice rate request schemes make BDRMtake full advantage of HAS's multi-segment and multi-rate features. As to the simulation results, compared with proportional fair(PF), Max C/I and traditional HAS schedule(THS) methods, the proposed BDRM method decreases rebuffering percent to 1.96% from 11.1% with PF and from 7.01% with THS and increases the mean MOS of all users to 3.94 from 3.42 with PF method and from 2.15 with Max C/I method. It also guarantees a high fairness with 0.98 from the view of objective and subjective assessment metrics. | Fei Wang Zesong Fei Jing Wang | 2017 | China Communications2017,14,7: | 2

Distributed Resource Allocation in Ultra-Dense Networks via Belief Propagation显示文摘Ultra-dense networking is widely accepted as a promising enabling technology to realize high power and spectrum efficient communications in future 5G communication systems. Although joint resource allocation schemes promise huge performance improvement at the cost of cooperation among base stations, the large numbers of user equipment and base station make jointly optimizing the available resource very challenging and even prohibitive. How to decompose the resource allocation problem is a critical issue. In this paper,we exploit factor graphs to design a distributed resource allocation algorithm for ultra dense networks, which consists of power allocation, subcarrier allocation and cell association. The proposed factor graph based distributed algorithm can decompose the joint optimization problem of resource allocation into a series of low complexity subproblems with much lower dimensionality, and the original optimization problem can be efficiently solved via solving these subproblems iteratively. In addition, based on the proposed algorithm the amounts of exchanging information overhead between the resulting subprob-lems are also reduced. The proposed distributed algorithm can be understood as solving largely dimensional optimization problem in a soft manner, which is much preferred in practical scenarios. Finally, the performance of the proposed low complexity distributed algorithm is evaluated by several numerical results. | CHEN Siyi XING Chengwen FEI Zesong | 2015 | China Communications2015,12,11: | 2
