| 1 | Bimodal microstructure – A feasible strategy for high-strength and ductile metallic materials显示文摘Introducing a bimodal grain-size distribution has been demonstrated an efficient strategy for fabricating high-strength and ductile metallic materials, where fine grains provide strength, while coarse grains enable strain hardening and hence decent ductility. Over the last decades, research activities in this area have grown enormously, including interesting results on fcc Cu, Ni and Al-Mg alloys as well as steel and Fe alloys via various thermo-mechanical processing approaches. However, investigations on bimodal Mg and other hcp metals are relatively few. A brief overview of the available approaches based on thermomechanical processing technology in producing bimodal microstructure for various metallic materials is given, along with a summary of unusual mechanical properties achievable by bimodality, where focus is placed on the microstructure-mechanical properties and relevant mechanisms. | 2 | Tailoring bimodal grain structure of Mg-9Al-1Zn alloy for strength-ductility synergy:Co-regulating effect from coarse Al_(2)Y and submicron Mg_(17)Al_(12) particles显示文摘Grain boundary strengthening is an effective strategy for increasing mechanical properties of Mg alloys.However,this method offers limited strengthening in bimodal grain-structured Mg alloys due to the difficultly in increasing the volume fraction of fine grains while keeping a small grain size.Herein,we show that the volume fraction of fine grains(FGs,~2.5μm)in the bimodal grain structure can be tailored from~30 vol.%in Mg-9 Al-1 Zn(AZ91)to~52 vol.%in AZ91-1Y(wt.%)processed by hard plate rolling(HPR).Moreover,a superior combination of a high ultimate tensile strength(~405 MPa)and decent uniform elongation(~9%)is achieved in present AZ91-1Y alloy.It reveals that a desired bimodal grain structure can be tailored by the co-regulating effect from coarse Al_(2)Y particles resulting in inhomogeneous recrystallization,and dispersed submicron Mg_(17)Al_(12)particles depressing the growth of recrystallized grains.The findings offer a valuable insight in tailoring bimodal grain-structured Mg alloys for optimized strength and ductility. | Yong-Kang Li Min Zha Hai-Long Jia Si-Qing Wang Hongmin Zhang Xiao Ma Teng Tian Pinkui Ma Hui-Yuan Wang | 2021 | Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2021,9,5: | 6 |

| 5 | Effect of large thickness-reduction on microstructure evolution and tensile properties of Mg-9Al-1Zn alloy processed by hard-plate rolling显示文摘The effect of large thickness-reduction on microstructure evolution and tensile properties of Mg-9 Al-1 Zn alloy(AZ91)processed by hard-plate rolling(HPR)was investigated.Increasing rolling reduction from55%to 85%increases the volume fraction and refines average size of fine grains(<3μm,FGs),leading to an optimized bimodal-grained structure consisting of coarse grains(CGs)uniformly embedded in FG regions.The sample with 85%reduction exhibits the highest yield strength of~314 MPa,ultimate tensile strength of~381 MPa and elongation of~11%.The high strength is primarily due to the contribution of grain boundaries(GBs)strengthening by FGs(accounting for~65%of strength),meanwhile the improved ductility originates from the optimized bimodal-grained structure and weakened basal texture that favor a higher ductility.The present findings successfully overcome the trade-off dilemma that the largereduction rolling processing on Mg alloys usually enhances strength at expense of ductility.In addition,the intensified heterogeneous deformation and favorable formation of a bimodal-grained microstructure during large-reduct ion HPR was addressed by tracing micro structure evolution details in grains of intere st via quasi-in-situ electron back scattering diffraction(EBSD).The present study can be instructive for further designing novel Mg alloys by tailoring bimodal-grained structures for superior combination of mechanical properties. | Yong-Kang Li Min Zha Jian Rong Hai-long Jia Zhong-Zheng Jin Hong-Min Zhang Pin-Kui Ma Hong Xu Ting-Ting Feng Hui-Yuan Wang | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,29: | 4 |
| 6 | Effects of Mg17Al12 second phase particles on twinning-induced recrystallization behavior in Mg–Al–Zn alloys during gradient hot rolling显示文摘This study aims to investigate the promotion effect of twinning-induced nucleation vs the inhibition effect of Mgi7Ali2 particles pinning for recrystallization, achieved through gradient rolling for Mg-3Al-lZn (AZ31) and Mg-9Al-lZn (AZ91) alloys as well as pure Mg. Through gradient rolling, a transition zone from the initial to deformed microstructure undergoing varying thickness reductions was obtained in the same sample, where the evolution of deformation twins and second phase can be examined precisely and continuously. During hot deformation, dynamic recrystallized (DRXed) grains tended to originate from {10 T 1 }-{10 T 2} double twins, whose nucleation was significantly restricted by increasing A1 content and hence recrystallization can be rarely triggered in AZ91 alloy. Concurrently, the size and volume fraction of Mgi7Ali2 particles changed via dissolution and re-precipitation, leading to finer average size and higher volume fraction, which produced stronger pinning effect and hindered dynamic recrystallization significantly. | 9 | A rolled Mg-8Al-0.5Zn-0.8Ce alloy with high strength-ductility synergy via engineering high-density low angle boundaries显示文摘Developing low-cost rolled Mg alloys with both high strength and ductility is desirable,while the improved strength is generally accompanied with decreased ductility.Here,by using rotated hard-plate rolling(RHPR)with a total thickness reduction of~85%,we obtained a Mg-8Al-0.5Zn-0.8Ce(wt.%,AZ80-0.8Ce)alloy with a high strength-ductility synergy,i.e.,the yield strength(YS),ultimate tensile strength(UTS)and elongation-to-failure(EF)are~308 MPa,~360 MPa and~13.8%,respectively.It reveals that the high YS is mainly originated from grain boundary strengthening(~212 MPa),followed by dislocation strengthening(~43 MPa)and precipitation hardening(~25 MPa).It is found that a relatively homogeneous fine grain structure containing a large fraction(~62%)of low angle boundaries(LABs)is achieved in the RHPRed alloy,which is benefit for the high tensile EF value.It demonstrates that LABs have important contributions to strengthening and homogenizing tensile deformation process,leading to the simultaneous high strength and high EF.Our work provides a new insight for fabrication of low-cost high performance Mg alloys with an excellent strength-ductility synergy. | Xiao Ma Min Zha Siqing Wang Yi Yang Hailong Jia Dan Gao Cheng Wang Huiyuan Wang | 2022 | Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2022,10,10: | 1 |

| 18 | Off-hour effect is not significant in endovascular treatment for anterior circulation large vessel occlusion in a multicentre registry显示文摘Background and purpose Whether the off-hour effect has an impact on workflow and outcomes of endovascular treatment(EVT)for anterior circulation large vessel occlusion(AC-LVO)remains uncertain.This study aimed to compare the characteristics and outcomes of patients who presented or were treated during off-hour versus on-hour in a multi-center registry.Methods AC-LVO patients from 21 centres were categorised into the off-hour group and the on-hour group.Off-hour(weekends,holidays,and 18:00-7:59 on weekdays)and on-hour(8:00-17:59 on weekdays except for holidays)were defined according to arrival and groin-puncture time points,respectively.Subgroup comparisons between patients both arrived and treated during off-hour(true off-hour)and on-hour(true on-hour)were performed.The primary outcome was the 90-day modified Rankin Scale(mRS)score.Secondary outcomes included favourable outcome(mRS 0-2 at 90 days),EVT-related time metrics,and other clinical outcomes.Ordinary and binary logistic regression and linear regression were taken to adjust for confounding factors.Results Of all 698 patients enrolled,435(62.3%)and 456(65.3%)patients were categorised into the off-hour arrival and off-hour puncture group,respectively.Shorter onset to door time(adjustedßcoefficient:−21.56;95%CI−39.96 to−3.16;p=0.022)was noted in the off-hour arrival group.Ordinal and dichotomous mRS scores at 90 days were comparable between the off-hour group and the on-hour group regardless of off-hour definitions.Other time metrics and outcomes were comparable between the two groups.Of 595 patients both presented and were treated during off-hour or on-hour,394 patients were categorised into the true off-hour group and 201 into the true on-hour group.Time metrics and clinical outcomes were similar between the true off-hour and the true on-hour group.Conclusions The off-hour effect was not significant regarding clinical outcomes and in-hospital workflow in AC-LVO patients receiving EVT in this Chinese multicentre registry. | Mingming Zha Qingwen Yang Shuo Liu Kangmo Huang Xiaohao Zhang Min Wu Haodi Cai Qiushi Lv Rui Liu Dong Yang Xinfeng Liu | 2021 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2021,6,4: | 1 |

[Method] Three common extraction methods, Soxhlet extraction, ultrasonic extraction and conventional extraction method, were used to prepare E. adenophorum extracts, and the herbicidal activity of E. adenophorum extracts extracted by 3 methods was studied by seed germination method. [Result] The extraction rate of Soxhlet extraction was the highest of (22.54±0.48)%, and the herbicidal activities of E. adenophorum extracted by Soxhlet extraction was relatively stronger.
