4EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF FLOW STRUCTURE BEHIND A CIRCULAR CYLINDER WITH WAVY SURFACE BY PIV显示文摘The wake behind a circular cylinder with wavy surface was investigated using single-frame PIV technique at Re=5200. The mean flow field and spatial distribution of turbulence statistics in the nodal, saddle and middle planes were presented and compared with those of a smooth cylinder. The near wake behind the wavy cylinder shows pronounced spanwise periodicity of flow structures. Compared with a smooth cylinder, the vortex formation region considerably expands in the streamwise direction, particularly reaching maximum in the saddle plane of the wavy cylinder. However, the longitudinal vortices in the nodal plane were noticeably suppressed in the transverse direction. In addition, the wake in the nodal plane contains the peak value of turbulent kinetic energy and the Reynolds shearing stress due to the intensive entrainment of free flow and the momentum exchange in the spanwise direction.ZHANG Wei Daichin 2006Journal of Hydrodynamics2006,18,1:8
5Regulating Private Tutoring in China:Uniform Policies,Diverse Responses显示文摘Purpose:This article examines responses from the tutoring sector to Chinese national and local government regulations on private supplementary tutoring.It adds to the literature on policy enactment,showing the importance of context and noting the diversity of tutoring providers compared with schools.Design/Approach/Methods:The article draws on semi-structured and informal interviews with 11 tutors,15 managers of tutoring enterprises,5 members and managers of professional organizations,5 government officials,5 school managers,5 teachers,and 20 parents.Data from interviewees were triangulated with observations,news reports,blogs written by tutoring analysts,and ad hoc research by industrial observers.Findings:Policy enactment in the tutoring sector is even more complex than that for schooling.Standardized policies do not necessarily achieve the aspired goals.Originality/Value:The article adds to the literature not only in China but also internationally.It highlights the importance of distinguishing between aspirations and realities in this domain.It also proposes conceptual considerations for regulating tutoring,given its diverse and fluid nature.Wei Zhang 2019ECNU Review of Education2019,2,1:7

20Decidable subsets of open logic and an algorithm for R-calculus显示文摘Open logic is an attractive logic theory that can describe the growth and evolution of knowledge.However, related studies show that open logic is undecidable in first-order logic and thus is hard to be programmed. This paper proposes that open logic should be implemented with constraints, and provides a set of syntax constraints under which open logic is decidable. Furthermore, it is shown that the constraints are necessary and sufficient for the decidable formulas of open logic.
