1μ-and m-calpain expression and activity changes following diethylstilbestrol injection in the rat anterior pituitary显示文摘Little is known about changes in calpain activity in the pituitary gland.In the present study,μ-and m-calpain activity changes were detected in the rat anterior pituitary following intraperitoneal injection of diethylstilbestrol.Double-immunofluorescence labeling confirmed colocalization of μ-and m-calpain in prolactin-secreting cells(lactotrophs).Western blot analysis revealed significantly increased expression of both calpains,which accompanied upregulated cytosol and membrane zymographic activities at 12 weeks following diethylstilbestrol injection,compared with rats injected with sunflower oil.Moreover,following estrogen injection,pituitary gland pathological damage gradually worsened with increasing time.Results demonstrated that estrogen regulated calpain expression and activity,and both calpains participated in the pathophysiological processes of the pituitary gland.Ubiquitous calpain expression could serve as an effective target for anti-estrogen drugs.Weijiang Zhao Zhongfang Shi Fang Yuan Guilin Li Yazhuo Zhang Zhongcheng Wang 2011Neural Regeneration Research2011,6,1:7
2Anti-biofilm and remineralization effects of chitosan hydrogel containing amelogeninderived peptide on initial caries lesions显示文摘In this study,we have designed a more clinically powerful anti-caries treatment by applying the amelogenin-derived peptide QP5 to the antibacterial carrier material chitosan in a hydrogel(CS-QP5 hydrogel),and characterized its effects on the inhibition of a cariogenic biofilm and the promotion of the remineralization of the initial caries lesions.The results indicated that the CS-QP5 hydrogel sustainably inhibited the growth of the Streptococcus mutans biofilm,lactic acid production and the metabolic activity over a prolonged period of time.Moreover,the CS-QP5 hydrogel promoted the remineralization of early enamel lesions,which were indicated by surface microhardness(,polarized light microscopy and transverse microradiography.In conclusion,the CS-QP5 hydrogel shows good potential for caries control in the clinic because of its antibacterial effects as well as the remineralization of initial enamel carious lesions even in a biofilm model over a prolonged period of time.Qian Ren Zhongcheng Li Longjiang Ding Xiuqing Wang Yumei Niu Xi Qin Xuedong Zhou Linglin Zhang 2018Regenerative Biomaterials2018,5,2:5
3Electrochemical Properties and Microstructure of Al/Pb–Ag and Al/Pb–Ag–Co Anodes for Zinc Electrowinning显示文摘The Al/Pb–0.8%Ag and Al/Pb–0.75%Ag–0.03%Co(in mass fraction) anodes used in zinc electrowinning are prepared through the electrodeposition of lead methanesulfonate electrolyte onto an aluminum matrix.The results of anode polarization curves,Tafel curves,and EIS characterizations indicated that the Al/Pb–0.75%Ag–0.03%Co anode has higher electrocatalytic activity and corrosion resistance than the Al/Pb–0.8%Ag anode.SEM observations on the fruit surfaces demonstrated the crystals on the Al/Pb–0.8%Ag anode are larger than on the Al/Pb–0.75%Ag–0.03%Co anode.After 24 h of anodic polarization,SEM observations and XRD analysis showed that the MnO2–PbO2layer on the Al/Pb–0.75%Ag–0.03%Co anode surface is characterized by dendritic crystals,and the PbSO4–PbO2layer under the MnO2–PbO2layer is characterized by uniform and chaotic orientation tetragonal symmetry crystallites of PbSO4.However,the MnO2–PbO2layer on the Al/Pb–0.8%Ag anode surface is characterized by granular crystals,and the PbSO4–PbO2layer under the MnO2–PbO2layer is characterized by well-organized orientation crystallites of PbSO4,which are concentrated in certain zones.Yongchun Zhang Buming Chen Zhongcheng Guo 2014Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2014,27,2:5

5Prediction Model of Coal Reservoir Pressure and its Implication for the Law of Coal Reservoir Depressurization显示文摘The main methods of coalbed methane(CBM)development are drainage and depressurization,and a precise prediction of coal reservoir pressure is thus crucial for the evaluation of reservoir potentials and the formulation of reasonable development plans.This work established a new reservoir pressure prediction model based on the material balance equation(MBE)of coal reservoir,which considers the self-regulating effects of coal reservoirs and the dynamic change of equivalent drainage area(EDA).According to the proposed model,the reservoir pressure can be predicted based on reservoir condition data and the actual production data of a single well.Compared with traditional reservoir pressure prediction models which regard EDA as a fixed value,the proposed model can better predict the average pressure of reservoirs.Moreover,orthogonal experiments were designed to evaluate the sensitivity of reservoir parameters on the reservoir pressure prediction results of this proposed model.The results show that the saturation of irreducible water is the most sensitive parameter,followed by Langmuir volume and reservoir porosity,and Langmuir pressure is the least sensitive parameter.In addition,the pressure drop of reservoirs is negatively correlated with the saturation of irreducible water and the Langmuir volume,while it is positively correlated with porosity.This work analyzed the reservoir pressure drop characteristics of the CBM wells in the Shizhuangnan Block of the Qinshui Basin,and the results show that the CBM reservoir depressurization can be divided into three types,i.e.,rapidly drop type,medium-term stability type,and slowly drop type.The drainage features of wells were reasonably interpreted based on the comprehensive analysis of the reservoir depressurization type;the latter was coupled to the corresponding permeability dynamic change characteristics,eventually proving the applicability of the proposed model.YAN Xinlu ZHANG Songhang TANG Shuheng LI Zhongcheng WANG Kaifeng YI Yongxiang DANG Feng HU Qiuping 2019Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2019,93,3:2

16Neuroprotective effects of subthalamic nucleus high-frequency stimulation on substantia nigra neurons in a Parkinson's disease rat model显示文摘BACKGROUND:Deep-brain stimulation has proven to be beneficial in the treatment of Parkinson's disease(PD) patients.OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effects of high-frequency stimulation(HFS) to the subthalamic nucleus(STN) on neuronal apoptosis and apoptosis-related gene expression in the substantia nigra pars compacta,and to analyze the neuroprotective effect of HFS-STN.DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING:Neuronal morphology experiments were performed in the Beijing Neurosurgical Institute from May to December in 2005.MATERIALS:Forty healthy,adult,Sprague Dawley rats were used to establish a PD model with a unilateral microinjection of 6-hydroxydopamine into two target areas of the right medial forebrain bundle.6-hydroxydopamine was purchased from Sigma(USA);high-frequency electrical stimulator was produced by World Precision Instruments(USA);Terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick end labeling(TUNEL) kit was a product of Nanjing Jiancheng Technology Co.,Ltd.(China);and Bcl-2 and Bax protein assay kit were purchased from Wuhan Boster Bioengineering Co.,Ltd.(China).METHODS:Forty rats were randomly divided into three groups.The stimulation group(n = 15) received HFS-STN on the day of PD modeling.The PD model group(n = 15) was used to establish the PD model.The control group(n = 10) was injected with normal saline containing 0.2 g/L ascorbic acid into two areas of the right medial forebrain bundle.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:Survival of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra pars compacta was determined using Nissl staining.Apoptosis of dopaminergic neurons was detected using TUNEL techniques.Expression of anti-apoptotic protein,Bcl-2,and pro-apoptotic protein,Bax,were assayed by immunohistochemistry.RESULTS:Following 6-hydroxydopamine injection,the number of substantia nigra pars compacta neurons was reduced in the stimulation and PD model groups,compared to the control group.At 2 and 4 weeks post-surgery,the grey value of Nissl stained images was significantly less in the PD model and stimulation groups(P < 0.05),and the stimulation group exhibited greater grey values compared to the model group(P < 0.05).At 2 and 4 weeks post-surgery,the number of apoptotic neurons was significantly less in the stimulation group compared to the model group(P < 0.05).In addition,Bcl-2 and Bax expression,as well as the Bcl-2/Bax ratio,was much higher in the stimulation group compared to the model group(P < 0.05).CONCLUSION:HFS-STN has a neuroprotective effect on dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra pars compacta of PD rats by promoting Bcl-2 expression,inhibiting Bax expression,and reducing the number of apoptotic dopaminergic neurons.Yu Ma Zhongcheng Wang Jianguo Zhang Huanguang Liu Ying Zhang 2008Neural Regeneration Research2008,3,9:1

19Cross-layer optimization in ultra wideband networks显示文摘Ultra wideband (UWB) network brings both chance and challenge to personal area wireless communications. Compared with other IEEE 802 small range wireless protocols (such as WLAN and Bluetooth), UWB has both extremely high bandwidth (up to 480 Mbps) and low radiation. Moreover, the structured MAC layer of UWB is the fundamental difference to WLAN. The top one is that only when two UWB de-vices belong to the same piconet can they communicate with each other directly, which means that we must jointly consider topology formation and routing when deploying UWB networks because the interaction between routing and topology formation makes separate optimization ineffective. This paper tries to optimize UWB network from a cross-layer point of view. Specifically, given device spatial distribution and traffic requirement, we want to form piconets and determine rout-ing jointly, to maximize the overall throughput. We formulate the problem of joint optimization to mixed-integer programming and give a practical lower bound that is very close to the theoretical upper bound in our simulation.
