1Ambiguous nucleus regulates the proliferation and percentage of T lymphocytes in peripheral blood显示文摘The aim of this study was to examine the immunomodulatory role of the unilateral ambiguous nucleus(Amb). We performed electrical stimulation of the unilateral Amb,electrical stimulation of the left parietal cortex and the lateral hypothalamus following unilateral Amb lesion,as well as microinjection of acetylcholine chloride and hemicholine-3 into the unilateral Amb,and electrical stimulation of the unilateral Amb after injection of atropine, mecamylamine, propranolol, and phentolamine. Results showed that the number and proliferation of peripheral blood T lymphocytes were increased after electrical stimulation of the unilateral Amb.The cholinergic neurons in the Amb released choline substances to alter cellular immunity, thus confirming that the Amb mediates the neuro-immunomodulatory process.Wei Wang Wei Chen Yingwu Mei Bin Guo Zhanqing Yang Shoupeng Fu Zhanpeng Yue Juxiong Liu 2011Neural Regeneration Research2011,6,35:3
2Green tea polyphenols protect spinal cord neurons against hydrogen peroxide-induced oxidative stress显示文摘Green tea polyphenols are strong antioxidants and can reduce free radical damage. To investigate their neuroprotective potential, we induced oxidative damage in spinal cord neurons using hydrogen peroxide, and applied different concentrations(50–200 μg/mL) of green tea polyphenol to the cell medium for 24 hours. Measurements of superoxide dismutase activity, malondialdehyde content, and expression of apoptosis-related genes and proteins revealed that green tea polyphenol effectively alleviated oxidative stress. Our results indicate that green tea polyphenols play a protective role in spinal cord neurons under oxidative stress.Jianbo Zhao Shiqiang Fang Yajiang Yuan Zhanpeng Guo Jinhao Zeng Yue Guo Peifu Tang Xifan Mei 2014Neural Regeneration Research2014,9,14:2
3Identification of EGF as an Important Regulator for Promoting CYP3A4 Expression in Human Embryonic Stem Cell-Derived Hepatocytes Using TALEN-Based Gene Targeting显示文摘Functional human hepatocytes are one of the most significant tools for studying drug absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion/toxicity (ADME/Tox),especially for applications in preclinical drug development (Sahi et al.,2010;Godoy et al.,2013).They provide the closest in vitro model to the human liver and the only model that mimics the drug metabolic profiles found in vivo. However, these cells lose their metabolic function rapidly and dramatically during the in vitro culture process, which largely hinders their wider application in drug development (Sahi et al.,2010;Godoy et al.,2013).To overcome this obstacle,it is important to regulate the activities of key genes which are responsible for the detoxification metabolic function of human hepatocytes.Ming YinaCollege of Veterinary Medicine Jilin University Huan Yang Xiaohua Su Ziyi Li Zhanpeng Yue Xueming Zhang Da Sun Yan Shi Dexue Li 2014Journal of Genetics and Genomics2014,41,6:2
4Negative effects of Notch1 on the differentiation of muscle-derived stem cells into neuronal-like cells显示文摘We cultured rat muscle-derived stem cells in medium containing nerve growth factor and basic fi-broblast growth factor to induce neuronal-like cell differentiation.Immunocytochemical staining and reverse transcription-PCR showed that the differentiated muscle-derived stem cells exhibited processes similar to those of neuronal-like cells and neuron-specific enolase expression, but Notch1 mRNA and protein expression was decreased.Down-regulation of Notch1 expression may facilitate neuronal-like cell differentiation from muscle-derived stem cells.Xifan Mei Chang Liu Zhanpeng Guo Yajiang Yuan Shiqiang Fang Yansong Wang Yue Guo Jinhao Zeng 2011Neural Regeneration Research2011,6,31:1
