| 1 | Global leaf nitrogen and phosphorus stoichiometry and their scaling exponent显示文摘Leaf nitrogen(N) and phosphorus(P) concentrations constrain photosynthetic and metabolic processes,growth and the productivity of plants. Their stoichiometry and scaling relationships regulate the allocation of N and P from subcellular to organism, and even ecosystem levels, and are crucial to the modelling of plant growth and nutrient cycles in terrestrial ecosystems. Prior work has revealed a general biogeographic pattern of leaf N and P stoichiometric relationships and shown that leaf N scales roughly as two-thirds the power of P. However, determining whether and how leaf N and P stoichiometries, especially their scaling exponents, change with functional groups and environmental conditions requires further verification. In this study, we compiled a global data set and documented the global leaf N and P concentrations and the N:P ratios by functional group, climate zone and continent. The global overall mean leaf N and P concentrations were 18.9 mg g^(-1) and 1.2 mg g^(-1), respectively, with significantly higher concentrations in herbaceous than woody plants(21.72 mg g^(-1) vs. 18.22 mg g^(-1) for N; and 1.64 mg g^(-1) vs. 1.10 mg g^(-1) for P). Both leaf N and P showed higher concentrations at high latitudes than low latitudes. Among six continents, Europe had the highest N and P concentrations(20.79 and 1.54 mg g^(-1)) and Oceania had the smallest values(10.01 and 0.46 mg g^(-1)). These numerical values may be used as a basis for the comparison of other individual studies. Further, we found that the scaling exponent varied significantly across different functional groups,latitudinal zones, ecoregions and sites. The exponents of herbaceous and woody plants were 0.659 and0.705, respectively, with significant latitudinal patterns decreasing from tropical to temperate to boreal zones. | 2 | Impact of water diversion on the morphological development of the Lower Yellow River显示文摘In this paper we carry out a theoretical analysis based on the general one-dimensional morphodynamic model for rivers in order to show how the morphological equilibrium of a river is influenced by water and sediment diversion/supply along the river. The results of the analysis show that large scale water diversions, like those along the Lower Yellow River, can cause the development of a convex riverbed profile in the long-term. Deposition will take place along the whole reach of the river, with an increasing deposition depth from downstream to upstream. The slope of the river bed increases from upstream to downstream. Furthermore, an analysis on the morphological time scale shows that this development in the Lower Yellow River will take a time period on the order of decades to centuries. The results of the analysis have been compared with observations in the Lower Yellow River. Since the second half of the 1980's large scale water diversions from the Yellow River have been taking place. | 3 | Effects of Atmospheres and Precursors on MnO_x/TiO_2 Catalysts for NH_3-SCR at Low Temperature显示文摘The effects of atmospheres and precursors on MnOx/TiO2 catalysts were studied,which were prepared by the impregnation method and tested for their NOx conversion activity in ammonia selective catalytic reduction(NH3-SCR) reactions.Results showed that the manganese carbonate(MC) precursor caused mainly Mn2O3,while the manganese nitrate(MN) precursor resulted primarily in MnO2 and the manganese sulfate(MS) precursor was unchanged.The manganese acetate(MA) precursor leaded obtaining a mixture of Mn2O3 and Mn3O4.NOx conversion decreased in the following order: MA/TiO2>MC/TiO2>MN/TiO2>MS/TiO2>P25,with a calcination temperature of 773 K in air.Catalysts that were prepared by MA and calcined in oxygen performed strong interaction between Ti and Mn,while MnTiO3 was observed.Compared to the catalysts calcined in nitrogen,those calcined in oxygen had larger diameter and smaller surface area and pore.Catalysts that were prepared by MA and calcined in nitrogen tended to gain higher denitration rates than those in air,since they could be prepared with significant specific surface areas.NOx conversion decreased with calcination atmospheres: Nitrogen>Ai>Oxygen.Meanwhile,amorphous Mn2O3 turned into crystalline Mn2O3,when the temperatures increased from 673 to 873 K. | 方德 HE Feng 谢峻林 FU Zhengbing CHEN Junfu | 2013 | Journal of Wuhan University of Technology(Materials Science)2013,28,5: | 8 |
| 4 | Family-level leaf nitrogen and phosphorus stoichiometry of global terrestrial plants显示文摘Leaf nitrogen(N) and phosphorus(P) concentrations are critical for photosynthesis, growth, reproduction and other ecological processes of plants. Previous studies on large-scale biogeographic patterns of leaf N and P stoichiometric relationships were mostly conducted using data pooled across taxa, while family/genus-level analyses are rarely reported. Here, we examined global patterns of family-specific leaf N and P stoichiometry using a global data set of 12,716 paired leaf N and P records which includes 204 families, 1,305 genera, and 3,420 species. After determining the minimum size of samples(i.e., 35 records), we analyzed leaf N and P concentrations, N:P ratios and N^P scaling relationships of plants for 62 families with 11,440 records. The numeric values of leaf N and P stoichiometry varied significantly across families and showed diverse trends along gradients of mean annual temperature(MAT) and mean annual precipitation(MAP). The leaf N and P concentrations and N:P ratios of 62 families ranged from 6.11 to 30.30 mg g–1, 0.27 to 2.17 mg g–1, and 10.20 to 35.40, respectively. Approximately 1/3–1/2 of the families(22–35 of 62) showed a decrease in leaf N and P concentrations and N:P ratios with increasing MAT or MAP, while the remainder either did not show a significant trend or presented the opposite pattern. Family-specific leaf N^P scaling exponents did not converge to a certain empirical value, with a range of 0.307–0.991 for 54 out of 62 families which indicated a significant N^P scaling relationship. Our results for the first time revealed large variation in the family-level leaf N and P stoichiometry of global terrestrial plants and that the stoichiometric relationships for at least one-third of the families were not consistent with the global trends reported previously. | 6 | Calcareous Nannofossils and Molecular Fossils in Cobalt-rich Crusts and their Response to the P/E Global Event显示文摘A biostratigraphic study on calcareous nannofossils from the CM3D06 Co-rich ferromanganese crust from the Magellan seamounts in the northwestern Pacific enabled estimation of depositional age.The bio-imprinting of calcareous nannofossils and other fossil species suggests six age ranges for the nannofossils: late Cretaceous,late Paleocene,(early,middle,late) Eocene,middle Miocene,late Pliocene,and Pleistocene.Gas chromatography(GC) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS) were used to test the Co-rich crusts,and a variety of molecular fossils were detected,such as chloroform bituminous 'A',n-alkane,isoprenoid and sterol.Peak carbon and molecular indices(such as ΣC23 /ΣC24 +,CPI,Pr/Ph,Pr/nC17,Ph/nC18 and δ13C) indicate that the parent organic matter is dominated by marine phytoplankton and thallogen whereas there is little input of terrestrial organic matter.Researches on calcareous nannofossils,molecular fossils and molecular organic geochemistry data reveal that the Paleocene/Eocene(P/E) global event is recorded in the cobaltrich crusts from the northwestern Pacific Ocean.A succession of biomes can be observed near the 85 mm boundary(about 55 Ma),i.e.,the disappearance of the late Cretaceous Watznaueria barnesae and Zigodicus spiralis,and Broisonia parka microbiotas above the P/E boundary,and the bloom of Coccolithus formosus,Discoaster multiradiatus,Discoaster mohleri and Discoaster sp.below the boundary.Typical parameters of molecular fossils,such as saturated hydrocarbon components and carbon-number maxima,Pr/Ph,Pr/C17,Ph/C18,distribution types of sterols,Ts/Tm ratios and bacterial hopane,also exhibit dramatic changes near the P/E boundary.These integrated results illustrate that the biome succession of calcareous nannofossils,relative content of molecular fossils and molecular indices in the cobalt-rich crusts near the 85 mm boundary faithfully record the P/E global event. | ZHANG Haisheng ZHAO Jun HAN Zhengbing LU Bing WU Guanghai PULYAEVA I.A. | 2013 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2013,87,5: | 6 |
| 7 | Identification and expression analysis of bovine ANGPTL gene family显示文摘Encoded by seven genes, angiopoietin-like (ANGPTL) family members structurally similar to the angiogenic regulatingfactor angiopoietin are known to possess biological activities in angiogenesis and metabolism. Here we reports for the firsttime the identification and expression analysis of all the seven members of bovine ANGPTL gene family, which were designatedbANCPTL1 to bANGPTL7 in order. The seven bANGPTL genes consist of 4-9 exons, span 3800-43000 bp and are located ondifferent chromosomes. The deduced amino acid sequences of the members all possess an N-terminal coiled-coil domain and aC-terminal fibrinogen-like domain, both characteristics of angiopoietins. Phylogenetic analysis showed mat the 32 identifiedANGPTL homologs from 9 species could be classified into two major groups. Real-time quantitative PCR (Q-PCR) analysis revealedthat the bANGPTL family members have different expression patterns. This study will be helpful for investigation on thebiological role of the bANGPTL family in this economically important species. | 8 | Chemical looping gasification of sewage sludge using copper slag modified by NiO as an oxygen carrier显示文摘Chemical looping gasification(CLG) provides a novel approach to dispose the sewage sludge.In order to improve the reactivity of the calcined copper slag,NiO modification is considered as one of the good solutions.The copper slag calcined at 1100℃ doped with 20 wt% NiO(Ni20-CS) was used as an oxygen carrier(OC) in sludge CLG in the work.The modification of NiO can evidently enhance the reactivity of copper slag to promote the sludge conversion,especially for sludge char conversion.The carbon conversion and valid gas yield(V_(g)) increase from 67.02% and 0.23 m^(3)·kg^(-1) using the original OC to 78.34% and 0.29 m^(3)·kg^(-1) using the Ni20-CS OC, respectively.The increase of equivalent coefficient(Ω) facilitates the sludge conversion and a suitable Ω value is determined at 0.47 to obtain the highest valid gas yield(0.29 m^(3)·kg^(-1)).A suitable steam content is assigned at 27.22% to obtain the maximum carbon conversion of 87.09%,where an acceptable LHV of 12.63 MJ·m^(-3) and Vg of 0.39 m^(3)·kg^(-1)are obtained.Although the reactivity of Ni20-CS OC gradually decreases with the increase in cycle numbers because of the generation of NiFe_(2) O_(4-δ) species,the deposition of sludge ash containing many metallic elements is beneficial to the sludge conversion.As a result,the carbon conversion shows a slight uptrend with the increase of cycle numbers in sludge CLG.It indicates that the Ni20-CS sample is a good OC for sludge CLG. | Nanhang Dong Ruiqiang Huo Ming Liu Lisheng Deng Zhengbing Deng Guozhang Chang Zhen Huang Hongyu Huang | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2021,34,1: | 2 |
| 9 | Crystallographic Characteristic of Intermetallic Compounds in Al-Si-Mg Casting Alloys Using Electron Backscatter Diffraction显示文摘The Al-Si-Mg alloy which can be strengthened by heat treatment is widely applied to the key components of aerospace and aeronautics. Iron-rich intermetallic compounds are well known to be strongly influential on mechanical properties in Al-Si-Mg alloys. But intermetallic compounds in cast Al-Si-Mg alloy intermetallics are often misidentified in previous metallurgical studies. It was described as many different compounds, such as AlFeSi, Al8Fe2Si, Al5(Fe, Mn)3Si2 and so on. For the purpose of solving this problem, the intermetallic compounds in cast Al-Si alloys containing 0.5% Mg were investigated in this study. The iron-rich compounds in Al-Si-Mg casting alloys were characterized by optical microscope(OM), scanning electron microscope(SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer(EDS), electron backscatter diffraction(EBSD) and X-ray powder diffraction(XRD). The electron backscatter diffraction patterns were used to assess the crystallographic characteristics of intermetallic compounds. The compound which contains Fe/Mg-rich particles with coarse morphologies was Al8FeMg3Si6 in the alloy by using EBSD. The compound belongs to hexagonal system, space group P6_2m, with the lattice parameter a=0.662 nm, c=0.792 nm. The β-phase is indexed as tetragonal Al3FeSi2, space group I4/mcm, a=0.607 nm and c=0.950 nm. The XRD data indicate that Al8FeMg3Si6 and Al3FeSi2 are present in the microstructure of Al-7Si-Mg alloy, which confirms the identification result of EBSD. The present study identified the iron-rich compound in Al-Si-Mg alloy, which provides a reliable method to identify the intermetallic compounds in short time in Al-Si-Mg alloy. | 10 | A man-made object detection algorithm based on contour complexity evaluation显示文摘Man-made object detection is of great significance in both military and civil areas, such as search-and-rescue missions at sea, traffic signs recognition during visual navigation, and targets location in a military strike. Contours of man-made objects usually consist of straight lines, corner points, and simple curves. Motivated by this observation, a man-made object detection method is proposed based on complexity evaluation of object contours. After salient contours which keep the crucial information of objects are accurately extracted using an improved mean-shift clustering algorithm, a novel approach is presented to evaluate the complexity of contours. | 11 | One-step synthesis of graphitic-C_3N_4/ZnS composites for enhanced supercapacitor performance显示文摘A series of graphitic-C_3N_4/ZnS(g-C_3N_4/ZnS) supercapacitor electrode materials have been prepared via a one-step calcination process of zinc acetate/thiourea with different mass ratios under nitrogen atmosphere. The optimized g-C_3N_4/ZnS composite shows a highest specific capacitance of 497.7 F/g at 1 A/g and good cycling stability with capacitance retention of 80.4% at 5 A/g after 1000 cycles. Moreover, gC_3N4/ZnS composites display an improved supercapacitor performance in terms of specific capacitance compared to the pure g-C_3N_4 and ZnS. In addition, our designed symmetric supercapacitor device based on g-C_3N_4/ZnS composite electrodes can exhibit an energy density of 10.4 Wh/kg at a power density of 187.3 W/kg. | 13 | Concentrations and distribution of biogenic barium in surface sediments of Prydz Bay,Antarctica显示文摘Concentrations of biogenic barium were investigated in surface sediments of Prydz Bay,Antarctica,during the 21st and27th CHINARE cruises.Factors controlling the observed distribution are explored.Biogenic barium concentrations obtained from a sequential extraction procedure are compared with total concentrations obtained from the normative calculation based on a total digestion,and differences in the results are examined.Concentrations of biogenic barium,calculated by the normative calculation,were much higher than the concentrations obtained through sequential extraction;this discrepancy is the result of the occurrence of barium associated with Mn/Fe oxides,which represents an important component of total barium in these sediments.Concentrations of biogenic barium obtained from the sequential extraction range from 104 to 445μg·g^(-1),and the average concentration was227μg·g^(-1).The highest concentrations of biogenic barium occur in the central area of the bay,where the seawater is more stable,while lower values occur in the bank and the ice shelf.Biogenic barium is significantly linearly correlated with biogenic barium and organic carbon,and similar in distribution of Chl a,which may indicate that primary productivity of phytoplankton in the surface water column is the main environmental factor regulating barium concentration and distribution. | TAN Saizhang YU Peisong HU Chuanyu HAN Zhengbing ZHANG Haisheng | 2013 | Advances in Polar Science2013,24,3: | 1 |

| 15 | Resorptions of 10 mineral elements in leaves of desert shrubs and their contrasting responses to aridity显示文摘Aims We aim to investigate variations in the resorption efficiencies of 10 mineral nutrients[i.e.nitrogen(N),phosphorus(P),potassium(K),magnesium(Mg),calcium(Ca),manganese(Mn),zinc(Zn),alu-minum(Al),iron(Fe)and copper(Cu)]in leaves of desert shrubs and to explore effects of aridity on resorption efficiency of these nutrients.Methods Plant samples were collected from 10 sites in northern Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China.Samples of green and senesced leaves were analysed to determine concentrations of N,P,K,Mg,Ca,Mn,Zn,Al,Fe and Cu and thus the nutrient resorption efficiency.Important Findings The mean nutrient concentrations in the desert shrubs varied,with the stoichiometric ratio Ca:N(19.3 mg g−1):K(10.5 mg g−1):Mg:P(1.01 mg g−1):Al:Fe:Mn:Zn:Cu(4.78 mg kg−1)=4038:2950:2199:1816:211:37:32:11:2:1 in green leaves;and Ca:N(12.6 mg g−1):Mg:K(7.6 mg g−1):P(0.56 mg g−1):Fe:Al:Mn:Zn:Cu(2.85 mg kg−1)=5583:3710:2943:2523:178:133:119:19:3.7:1 in senesced leaves.Resorption generally occurred for six elements(N,P,K,Cu,Mg and Mn,with average resorption efficiency 47.8%,52.0%,38.6%,41.0%,12.7%and 7.89%,respectively)during leaf senescence,while the other four nutrients tended to accumulate in senesced leaves,showing averagely negative resorption efficiencies[Ca(-3.87%),Al(−57.1%),Zn(−62.6%),Fe(−89.6%)].Aridity showed strikingly different effects on the resorption process of the 10 nutri-ents.Of the four elements with totally(N/P/K)or mostly(Cu)posi-tive observations of resorption efficiency,their resorption generally decreased with aridity,suggesting that drought stress had negative effects on the resorption efficiencies of these elements.In contrast,with at least one-third observations of resorption efficiency being negative,the other elements(Mg/Mn/Ca/Zn/Al/Fe)showed gener-ally increasing resorptive tendency with aridity,except for Zn.This research provided a systematic analysis on the large variation and contrasting responses of the resorption of multi-elements to aridity in typical desert shrubs.Our findings foster the understanding of nutrient resorption patterns of desert plants and enable us to better predict the contrastive effects of drought stress on the cycling of diverse nutrients and the consequent stoichiometric decoupling in plants of desert ecosystems. | Meixia Zhang Yan Luo Zhengbing Yan Jiao Chen Anwar Eziz Kaihui Li Wenxuan Han | 2019 | Journal of Plant Ecology2019,12,2: | 1 |
