1Identification of Chinese populations of Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius) by analyzing ribosomal ITS1 sequence显示文摘Spreading of Bemisia tabaci B biotype has had a large impact on the production of vegetables, ornamental and fiber crops in many countries of the world since the 1990s. This study analyzes the ribosomal ITS1 sequence (~520 bp) to distinguish genetic difference of B. tabaci from representative different geographical populations in China. Phylogenetic analysis shows that populations of B.tabaci from Beijing and Shandong Province are of biotype B, and populations of B.tabaci from sweet potato in Fujian Province and pumpkin in Guangxi, China, belong to two different non-B biotypes and have a geographical origin of Asia.WU Xingxia, LI Zhengxi, HU Dunxiao and SHEN Zuorui(Department of Entomology, China Agricultural University, Beijing 100094, China) 2003Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2003,13,4:21
2Molecular Identification of a Wolbachia endosymbiont in Trichogramma dendrolimi显示文摘Wolbachia is a common and widespread group of bacteria found in arthropods. These bacteria have evolved various mechanisms for manipulating reproduction of their host. The presence of Wolbachia in a lab strain of the arrhenotokous species Trichogramma dendrolimi was observed by the amplification and sequencing of part of the wsp gene. Aligning the resulting sequences with already published ones, the phylogenetic relationships between Wolbachia found in Trichogramma dendrolimi and in other Trichogramma wasps was established, and the phylogenetic relationships of Wolbachia in Trichogramma were not congruent with their hosts Trichogramma. Some factors contributing to this uncongruence are discussed here.GONG Peng and SHEN Zuorui(College of Plant Protection, The China Agriculture University, Beijing 100094, China) 2002Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2002,12,5:7
3Migration and population genetics of the grain aphid Macrosiphum miscanti (Takahashi) in relation to the geographic distance and gene flow显示文摘The population genetics of the grain aphid Macrosiphum miscanti (Takahashi) is analyzed by microsatellite markers.Samples collected from 15 locations in China have been examined at 5 polymorphic microsatellite loci. Overall, genetic diversity displays a relation between the migration and gene flow in the grain aphid: a free and frequent gene flow is found in the eastern populations, and gene isolation occurs in the two western populations, especially Datong population and Guiyang population. The natural barriers may present an insurmountable obstacle preventing gene flow and aphid migration. However, a spatial genetic differentiation between populations is correlated with their geographical separation, indicating the geographic differentiation may play an important role in shaping the genetic structure of M. miscanti populations. In addition, most populations of grain aphids are out of Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium and there is heterozygote deficit. Based on F statistics, the average genetic differentiation among different geographical populations is relatively low. It seems that the long distance migration of the grain aphid may enhance gene flow and decrease genetic differentiation among different populations.GUO Wei SHEN Zuorui LI Zhihong GAO Lingwang 2005Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2005,15,11:4
