| 3 | Meta-analysis of the relationship between Epstein-Barr virus infection and clinicopathological features of patients with gastric carcinoma显示文摘Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection has been causally associated with occurrence of many malignant neoplasms. EBV-encoded small RNAs (EBERs) have been detected from about 10% of gastric carcinoma tissue cells, suggesting that EBV infection is associated with the development of gastric carcinoma. The present study pooled the data from the papers concerning EBV-related gastric cancers and performed a meta-analysis of 22 research papers. Among these papers, a total of 5475 cases with gastric cancer were enrolled, of whom 411 cases were found EBV-positive, with the EBV-positive rate being 7.5%. Among the EBV-positive gastric cancer cases, the detection rate was 11.1% in males and 3.0% in females. Compared with EBV-negative gastric cancer, EBV-positive gastric cancer had less lymph node metastasis. Based on the histological typing, of the EBV-positive gastric cancers, the diffuse type was 8.1%, and intestinal type was 8.0%. The examined specimen types included stored paraffin blocks and fresh surgically removed specimens, their EBV positive rates were 7.9% and 6.5% respectively. In terms of geographical distribution, the detection rate of EBV-positive gastric cancer was 9.4% in America, 6.1% in Asia and 9.1% in Europe. Meta-analysis showed that EBV infection occurred only in gastric cancer tissue cells and was significantly associated with the patients’ gender, lymph node metastases, and the location where tumor tissue generated and geographical distribution (P<0.05), but was not significantly associated with the patients’ histological types of tumor and the types of specimens (P>0.05). | 5 | POLYMER CHARGE AND MOLECULAR WEIGHT EFFECTS ON TREATED IRRIGATION FURROW PROCESSES显示文摘Application of 5-10 mg L-1 water soluble anionic polyacrylamide (PAM) to furrow irrigation water during flow advance substantially reduces sediment loss and increases net infiltration. We hypothesized that PAM_s solvated molecular conformation influences its irrigation-management efficacy. The study was conducted in Kimberly, Idaho, on Portneuf silt loam (Durinodic Xeric Haplocalcids), under furrowirrigated beans (Phaseolus vulgaris ) at a 1.5% slope. Polyacrylamides with contrasting molecular weight (anionic; 4-7, 12- 15 and 14-17 MDa, i.e. Mg mol-1 ), charge type (neutral, anionic, cationic), and charge density (8, 19, 35 mol %) were tested in two studies. Inflow rate was 23 L min-1 during furrow advance, and 15 L min-1 for the remaining set. Anionic and neutral PAMs were twice as effective as cationic PAMs for controlling sediment loss in new furrows. The order of effectiveness for overall soilloss control was : anionic >neutral >cationic PAM, and efficacy increased with increasing charge density and/or molecular weight. Net furrow infiltration increased by 14 to 19% when PAM treatment molecular weight was reduced from 17 to 4 MDa. General trends suggested that medium and high charge density anionic and neutral PAM produced the greatest increase in infiltration compared with controls.Compared with untreated furrows, neutral PAM gave the greatest season-long net infiltration gains (5%),while charged PAMs tended to increase net infiltration early in the season on new furrows but decreased infiltration on repeat-irrigated furrows later in the season. | R. | 10 | Application of polynomial chaos on numerical simulation of stochastic cavity flow显示文摘In present paper,the mathematic background of intrusive polynomial chaos (IPC) method and coupling process with one dimension Euler equation were introduced. The IPC method was implemented for the 2D compressible stochastic Navier-Stokes equations to simulate the non-deterministic behavior of a lid driven cavity flow under the influence of uncertainties. The driven velocity and fluid viscosity were supposed respectively to be the uncertain variable which has Gaussian probability distribution. Based on the validation with benchmark results,discussions were mainly focused on the statistic properties of velocity distribution. The results indicated the effect of IPC method on the simulation of propagation of uncertainty in the flow field. Because Hamiltonian approaches are closely related to the energy of the physical system, they have been widely re-searched in recent years. The realization of the Hamiltonian structure of the nonlinear dynamic system is the basis for the application of the Hamiltonian methods. However, there have been no systematically investigations on the Ham-iltonian realization for different power system dynamic models so far. This paper researches the Hamiltonian realization in power systems dynamics. Starting from the widely used power system dynamic models, the paper reveals the intrinsic Hamiltonian structure of the nonlinear power system dynamics and also proposes approaches to formulate the power system Hamiltonian structure. Furthermore, this paper shows the application of the Hamiltonian structure of the power system dynamics to design non-smooth controller considering the nonlinear ceiling effects from the real physical limits. The general procedure to design controllers via the Hamiltonian structure is also summarized in the paper. The controller design based on the Hamiltonian structure is a completely nonlinear method and there is no lin-earization during the controller design process. | 16 | Developmental Lead Exposure Alters the Distribution of Protein Kinase C Activity in the Rat Hippocampus显示文摘Chronic low-level lead (Pb) exposure in children is known to cause a deficit in learning and memory. In vitro studies have demonstrated that Pb altered protein kinase C (PKC) activityt Especially, hippocampal PKC has been correlated with performance in several learning tasks. The effects of Pb exposure on hippocampal PKC were investigated during development at various postnatal ages: postnatal day (PN) 7, 14, 28, and 56. Two-tenth % Pb acetate was administered to pregnant and lactating dams and then administered to weanling rats in drinking water. PKC activity was measured in both membrane and cytosolic fractions from the hippocampi of the controls and Pb-exposed animals. Pb-induced increase in PKC activity in the cytosolic fraction was obsereved in the PN56 rats. In contrast, PKC activity was decreased by Pb at PN7 in the membrane fraction. Furthermore, a significant decrease in the ratio of membrane to cytosolic PKC activity which is representative of PKC distribution was observed in the PN28 and PN56 Pb-exposed rats relative to the same-age controls. This study indicates that chronic Pb exposure during development influences hippocampal PKC activity and distribution. | 18 | Current distribution and stability of LTS/HTS hybrid superconducting conductors显示文摘Current distribution and stability of a hybrid LTS/HTS superconductor, consisting of multifilamentary NbTi/Cu and Bi2223/Ag tapes, were numerically analyzed according to power-law models. The results showed that most of current passed through the LTS and the current increased in the HTS with temperature rise when the transport current was below the critical current of the hybrid conductor. The quench propagation velocity of the hybrid conductor was smaller but its minimum quench energy was larger than those of LTS conductors, indicating that the stability of the hybrid superconducting conductor was effectively improved and a high engineering current density was simultaneously achieved. Finally, a hybrid sample, made by soldering Bi2223/Ag tape onto NbTi/Cu conductor, was prepared and tested successfully at helium temperature. | 20 | Cisapride decreasing orocecal transit time in patients with nonalcoholic steatohepatitis显示文摘BACKGROUND : Altered small-intestine motility, lengthening of orocecal transit time (OCTT), and small-intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) have been detected in patients with nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). These changes might be related to the progressive course and poor prognosis of the disease. This study was undertaken to investigate the effect of 4-week treatment with cisapride on OCTT. METHODS: Ten NASH patients without diabetes were included. Ten healthy individuals served as controls. OCTT was measured by lactulose breath test (LBT). Anti- endotoxin core antibodies (EndoCAb) IgG were also examined. The effect of cisapride (10 mg TID during 4 weeks) on LBT and serum EndoCAb IgG levels in NASH patients was investigated. RESULTS: The NASH patients had more significantly prolonged OCTT (95±17 min) than the controls (59±18 min, P=0.00032). Cisapride administration decreased OCTT (from 95±17 min to 83±19 min, P=0.037), basal breathed H2 (from 9.87±1.60 ppm to 8.61±1.63 ppm, P=0.046) and EndoCAb IgG titers (from 5.24±0.68 GMU/ ml to 4.20±0.72 GMU/ml, P=0.013) in NASH patients. CONCLUSIONS: The present data suggest the existence of deranged intestinal motility and endotoxemia in NASH patients.
