2The origin of Wx^(la) provides new insights into the improvement of grain quality in rice显示文摘Appearance and taste are important factors in rice(Oryza sativa) grain quality. Here, we investigated the taste scores and related eating-quality traits of533 diverse cultivars to assess the relationships between—and genetic basis of—rice taste and eating-quality. A genome-wide association study highlighted the Wx gene as the major factor underlying variation in taste and eating quality. Notably, a novel waxy(Wx) allele, Wx^(la), which combined two mutations from Wx^(b) and Wx^(in), exhibited a unique phenotype. Reduced GBSSI activity conferred Wx^(la) rice with both a transparent appearance and good eating quality. Haplotype analysis revealed that Wx^(la) was derived from intragenic recombination. In fact,the recombination rate at the Wx locus was estimated to be 3.34 kb/c M, which was about 75-fold higher than the genome-wide mean, indicating that intragenic recombination is a major force driving diversity at the Wx locus. Based on our results, we propose a new network for Wx evolution, noting that new Wx alleles could easily be generated by crossing genotypes with different Wx alleles. 3Genetic architecture and key genes controlling the diversity of oil composition in rice grains显示文摘Rice grain oil is a valuable nutrient source.However,the genetic basis of oil biosynthesis in rice grains remains unclear.In this study,we performed a genome-wide association study on oil composition and oil concentration in a diverse panel of 533 cultivated rice accessions.High variation for 11 oil-related traits was observed,and the oil composition of rice grains showed differentiation among the subpopulations.We identified 46 loci that are significantly associated with grain oil concentration or composition,16 of which were detected in three recombinant inbred line populations.Twenty-six candidate genes encoding enzymes involved in oil metabolism were identified from these 46 loci,four of which(PAL6,LIN6,MYR2,and ARA6)were found to contribute to natural variation in oil composition and to show differentiation among the subpopulations.Interestingly,population genetic analyses revealed that specific haplotypes of PAL6 and LIN6 have been selected in japonica rice.Based on these results,we propose a possible oil biosynthetic pathway in rice grains.Collectively,our results provide new insights into the genetic basis of oil biosynthesis in rice grains and can facilitate marker-based breeding of rice varieties with enhanced oil and grain quality.Hao Zhou Duo Xia Pingbo Li Yiting Ao Xiaodong Xu Shanshan Wan Yanhua Li Bian Wu Huan Shi Kaiyue Wang Guanjun Gao Qinglu Zhang Gongwei Wang Jinghua Xiao Xianghua Li Sibin Yu Xingming Lian Yuqing He 2021Molecular Plant2021,14,3:4

9Effects of Medium Regulation by Wastes on Insect Community at Tianjin Binhai International Airport显示文摘This study was conducted to explore the effects of medium regulation on insect community. Sludge compost,waste crumb rubber and fly ash were added in soil at the Tianjin Binhai International Airport. By sampling method,insect community and diversity were surveyed in Tianjin Binhai International Airport. The results showed that a total of 1 288 insects were collected,belonging to 8 orders,17 families and 21 species,with Orthoptera,Coleoptera and Diptera as the dominant groups. The species and individual numbers of insects showed the same trend with the order of sludge > control > fly ash > crumb rubber. Compared with the control area,the individual number and species of insects in the crumb rubber area decreased by 41. 3% and 38. 9%,respectively. Moreover,the species richness and diversity of insects in the crumb rubber area were the lowest,1. 39 and 0. 46 lower than that of the control area,respectively,indicating that crumb rubber can effectively reduce the number and the diversity of insects at the airport.zhifei li shulan zhao lian duo 2018Agricultural Biotechnology2018,7,2:1
10Carbon nanomaterial addition changes soil nematode community in a tall fescue mesocosm显示文摘Carbon nanomaterials have been widely used in industry and inevitably enter the environment.However,there is little information about their influence on the abundance and diversity of soil nematode community.We evaluated the impact of three kinds of carbon nanomaterials(graphene,graphene oxide,and carbon nanotubes)on the abundance and diversity of soil nematodes after growing tall fescue for 130 d using a laboratory pot experiment.A total of 29 genera of nematodes were identified in all the treatments.Carbon nanomaterials significantly increased the abundance of total nematodes and plant parasites.The presence of graphene and graphene oxide increased the numbers of bacterivores,and graphene benefited fungivores.The total nematode abundance was1.9-2.9 times greater in the carbon nanomaterial treatments than in the control with no carbon nanomaterial addition.However,graphene oxide and carbon nanotubes decreased the values of nematode community parameters,e.g.,diversity,species richness,and structure index.Compared with the control,the addition of graphene resulted in a community with a higher plant-parasitic index(i.e.,the maturity index of the plant-parasitic nematodes).Overall,our findings highlight that the addition of carbon nanomaterials has a negative influence on the composition and diversity of the nematode community,simplifying the community structure.Shulan ZHAO Xue BAI Mengdi MOU Lian DUO 2022Pedosphere2022,32,5:0
11Improved photocatalytic activity of TiO_2 produced by an alcohothermal approach through in-situ decomposition of NH_4HCO_3显示文摘High crystallinity of TiO_2 was prepared by a modified alcohothermal method, in which titanium isopropoxide was used as the titania precursor, absolute ethanol as the reaction medium, and NH_4HCO_3 as the raw materials for release of water, ammonia and carbon dioxides via in-situ decomposition. The X-ray powder diffraction(XRD) and transmission electron microscope(TEM) measurements showed that water and ammonia from the in-situ decomposition of NH_4HCO_3 played an important role in conducting the size, shape, crystallinity and microstructure of TiO_2.
