| 3 | Correlation of human immunodeficiency virus and antiretroviral therapy with cardiac disorders显示文摘The occurrence of cardiovascular illness in the human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)community is increasing,with a particular focus on coronary heart disease.Patients infected with HIV have a higher risk of myocardial infarction compared to the general population in modern countries due to the development of effective antiretroviral medications and increased life expectancy.Those not receiving highly active antiretroviral therapy(ART)may experience common cardiac consequences,including myocarditis,dilated cardiomyopathy,endocarditis,pulmonary hypertension,pericardial effusion,and cardiotoxicity associated with non-antiretroviral drugs.After the use of highly active ART,continuing immune activation and systemic inflammation seem to play a central role in this process.Recent studies suggest that protease inhibitors might negatively impact the progression of HIV-related heart failure(HF),which complicates the determination of the best therapy strategy for HIVassociated cardiomyopathy.The objective of this review is to examine the pathophysiology and correlation of various antiretroviral drugs leading to HIV-associated HF.Additionally,we explore the causes of HIV-associated atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease,including the high frequency of classic cardiovascular risk factors in HIVinfected patients,as well as HIV-related factors like the use of ART and chronic inflammation despite successful treatment of HIV infection.Numerous studies have revealed that individuals living with HIV/acquired immune deficiency syndrome frequently experience HF.In conclusion,despite advancements in HIV care,HIV-infected individuals continue to face an increased risk of HIV-associated cardiomyopathy and atherosclerosis.Further research is necessary to comprehend the underlying causes and develop effective treatments for cardiovascular disease in this population.We also discuss the currently available therapeutic options and ongoing research to mitigate the risk of cardiovascular disease and inflammation in HIV-infected individuals. | Riya Sharma Mandeep kaur | 2023 | Global Health Journal2023,7,3: | 1 |

| 7 | An Update on Management of Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease&Nonalcoholic Steatohepapititis is the Time Ripe for Achieving Resolution of NAFLD&NASH Soon显示文摘We earlier reviewed how obesity has assumed an endemic/pandemic proportions that has resulted in escalating incidence and prevalence of associated escalating worldwide incidence of Metabolic Syndrome(MetS)with non alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD),that is correlated with enhanced morbidity.Later we tried to detail how probiotics,L-Carnitine(LC),Nicotinamide Ribose(NR)Combination,along with Apical Sodium Dependent Bile Acids Transporter(ASBT)or Volixibat and Silybin,Vitamin D,Allyl Isothiocyanate(AITC),might aid in treating and understand the etiopathogenesis of NAFLD.The prevalence of NAFLD all over the world is approximately 25%,with that of non alcoholic steatohepapititis(NASH),varying from 1.5%=6.45%.Particularly NASH,specifically the ones associated with fibrosis possess a greater chance of generation of side effects that include progression to cirrhosis as well as liver-associated mortality.Despite an improvement was observed with vitamin E,Pioglitazone.liraglutide in histological appearance in liver randomized controlled clinical trials(RCT),at present no drugs exists that have received FDI approval for NASH.The aim of this review was to update the newer drugs getting evaluated,undergoing phase 2-3 trials.Currently there are Obeticholic acid,elafibranor,cenicriviroc,resmetriom,in addition to aramchol,that are the five agents that are getting analysed in big,histology dependent phase 3 trials.Hopefully within another 2-4 years,newer,efficacious drugs will be available for the therapy of NASH.Besides that a lot of phase 2 trials are continuing for different drugs.Further depending on outcomes of phase 2-3 trials,combination treatments are getting evaluated.For future therapeutic approaches would be made up of variations in NASH phenotypes,besides personalized approaches based on various NASH phenotypes in addition to response of every single patient.Further recently there were reports of utilization of curcumin with nonselective beta blocker for regression from cirrhosis(reviewed by us).Hopefully once there are approved therapies for NAFLD/NASH,we can work in that direction. | Kulvinder Kochar Kaur Gautam Allahbadia Mandeep Singh | 2021 | Journal of Endocrinology Research2021,3,2: | 1 |
| 8 | 流行和在旁遮普(印度) 的奶店动物的 Anaplasma marginale 感染的 haemato 生物化学的侧面显示文摘 <正>Objective:To do the systematic comparison of prevalence of anaplasmosis by PCR and Giemsa stained thin blood smear(GSTBS) based parasitological assays in dairy cattle of Punjab,which has not been reported yet.To analyse the haematobiochemical alterations in infected animals to arrive at the conclusion regarding the pathogenicity induced by Anaplasma marginale (A.marginale) in latent and patent infection.Methods:Study was conducted on 320 animals (236 cows,62 calves and 22 buffaloes) of Punjab,India.PCR on genome of A.marginale was performed by targeting msp1βgene using specific primers BAP-2/AL34S,amplifies products of size 407 bp.Questionnaires based data on the characteristics of the infected animals and management strategies of the farm were collected and correlated.Results:Higher prevalence and more significant association was observed in the PCR based molecular diagnosis(P=0.00012) as compared to that in GSTBS(P=0.028 8) based diagnosis with various regions under study.With respect to the regions,highest prevalence was recorded in Ferozepur by PCR based diagnosis, while that in Jalandhar by GSTBS examination.Similar marked significant association of the PCR based diagnosis with the age of the animals under study(P=0.00013) was observed elucidating no inverse age resistance to A.marginale in cow calves.Haematobiochemical profile of infected animals revealed marked anemia,liver dysfunction and increase globulin concentrate indicating rise in immunoglobulin level to counteract infection.Conclusions:PCR is far more sensitive in detecting the disease even in latent infection which may act as nidus for spread of anaplasmosis to susceptible animals in endemic areas.Severity of anaemia and liver dysfunction were comparable both in patent as well as latent infection indicating pathogenicity of both. | Ashuma Amrita Sharma Lachhman Das Singla Paramjit Kaur Mandeep Singh Bal Balwinder Kaur Batth Prayag Dutt Juyal | 2013 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2013,6,2: | 0 |
| 9 | Expression of multidrug resistance proteins in retinoblastoma显示文摘AIM: To elucidate the mechanism of multidrug resistance in retinoblastoma, and to acquire more insights into in vivo drug resistance.METHODS: Three anticancer drug resistant Y79 human RB cells were generated against vincristine, etoposide or carboplatin, which are used for conventional chemotherapy in RB. Primary cultures from enucleated eyes after chemotherapy(PCNC) were also prepared. Their chemosensitivity to chemotherapeutic agents(vincristine, etoposide and carboplatin) were measured using MTT assay. Western blot analysis was performed to evaluate the expression of p53, Bcl-2 and various multidrug resistant proteins in retinoblastoma cells.RESULTS: Following exposure to chemotherapeutic drugs, PCNC showed less sensitivity to drugs. No significant changes observed in the p53 expression, whereas Bcl-2 expression was found to be increased in the drug resistant cells as well as in PCNC. Increased expression of P-glycoprotein(P-gp) was observed in drug resistant Y79 cells; however there was no significant change in the expression of P-gp found between primary cultures of primarily enucleated eyes and PCNC. Multidrug resistance protein 1(Mrp-1) expression was found to be elevated in the drug resistant Y79 cells as well as in PCNC. | 15 | The modified magnetodielectric response in KNN-CZFMO based particulate multiferroic composite system显示文摘Lead-free multiferroic composites of 1−x(K_(0.5)Na_(0.5)NbO_(3−x))(Co_(0.6)Zn_(0.4))(Fe_(1.7)Mn_(0.3))O_(4)(KNN-CZFMO),where x=0.0,0.1,0.2,0.3,0.4,0.5 and 1.0,have been investigated for their structural,morphological,electrical,magnetic,dielectric and magneto-dielectric properties.Presence of KNN and CZFMO crystal structure in each composite has been confirmed from X-ray diffrac-tion analysis(XRD).Cuboidal-shaped grains of KNN and spherical-shaped grains of CZFMO have been observed by scanning electron microscopy(SEM).The room temperature ferroelectric behavior as confirmed by polarization versus electric field(P-E)hysteresis loops has been found to be decreasing with increasing CZFMO concentration.Increasing magnetic ordering with the increase in CZFMO concentration in the prepared composites has been observed by magnetization versus magnetic field(M-H)hysteresis loops.The electrical conductivity of composites has been studied using Jonscher’s universal power law.The room temperature dielectric constant(ε′)and dielectric loss(tanδ)have been observed to decrease with the increase in the frequency of the applied external electric field.The dielectric relaxation behavior has been observed using curve fitting analysis via the Havriliak-Negami relaxation model.Maximum value of the magnetodielectric(MD)effect~−11%at a frequency of 1 kHz with the applied magnetic field of 1 T has been achieved for 0.9 KNN−0.1 CZFMO(x=0.1)composite in the present research work. | Kulwinder Kaur Mandeep Singh Jaspal Singh Sanjeev Kumar | 2020 | Journal of Advanced Dielectrics2020,10,5: | 0 |
