1Full-space Cloud of Random Points with a Scrambling Metasurface显示文摘With the rapid progress in computer science,including artificial intelligence,big data and cloud computing,full-space spot generation can be pivotal to many practical applications,such as facial recognition,motion detection,augmented reality,etc.These opportunities may be achieved by using diffractive optical elements(DOEs)or light detection and ranging(LIDAR).However,DOEs suffer from intrinsic limitations,such as demanding depth-controlled fabrication techniques,large thicknesses(more than the wavelength),Lambertian operation only in half space,etc.LIDAR nevertheless relies on complex and bulky scanning systems,which hinders the miniaturization of the spot generator.Here,inspired by a Lambertian scatterer,we report a Hermitian-conjugate metasurface scrambling the incident light to a cloud of random points in full space with compressed information density,functioning in both transmission and reflection spaces.Over 4044 random spots are experimentally observed in the entire space,covering angles at nearly 90°.Our scrambling metasurface is made of amorphous silicon with a uniform subwavelength height,a nearly continuous phase coverage,a lightweight,flexible design,and low-heat dissipation.Thus,it may be mass produced by and integrated into existing semiconductor foundry designs.Our work opens important directions for emerging 3D recognition sensors,such as motion sensing,facial recognition,and other applications.Zile Li Qi Dai Muhammad Q.Mehmood Guangwei Hu Boris Luk’yanchuk Jin Tao Chenglong Hao Inki Kim Heonyeong Jeong Guoxing Zheng Shaohua Yu Andrea Alù Junsuk Rho Cheng-Wei Qiu 2018Light(Science & Applications)2018,7,1:6

3Enhanced dielectric and electrocaloric properties in lead-free rod-like BCZT ceramics显示文摘Ba0.85Ca0.15Zr0.10Ti0.90O3(BCZT)lead-free ceramics demonstrated excellent dielectric,ferroelectric,and piezoelectric properties at the morphotropic phase boundary(MPB).So far,to study the effect of morphological changes on dielectric and ferroelectric properties in lead-free BCZT ceramics,researchers have mostly focused on the influence of spherical grain shape change.In this study,BCZT ceramics with rod-like grains and aspect ratio of about 10 were synthesized by surfactant-assisted solvothermal route.X-ray diffraction(XRD)and selected area electron diffraction(SAED)performed at room temperature confirm the crystallization of pure perovskite with tetragonal symmetry.Scanning electron microscopy(SEM)image showed that BCZT ceramics have kept the 1D rod-like grains with an average aspect ratio of about 4.Rod-like BCZT ceramics exhibit enhanced dielectric ferroelectric(εr=11,906,tanδ=0.014,Pr=6.01μC/cm^2,and Ec=2.46 kV/cm),and electrocaloric properties(ΔT=0.492 K andz=0.289(K×mm)/kV at 17 kV/cm)with respect to spherical BCZT ceramics.Therefore,rod-like BCZT lead-free ceramics have good potential to be used in solid-state refrigeration technology.Zouhair HANANI Soukaina MERSELMIZ Abdelaadim DANINE Nicolas STEIN Daoud MEZZANE M’barek AMJOUD Mohammed LAHCINI Yaovi GAGOU Matjaz SPREITZER Damjan VENGUST Zdravko KUTNJAK Mimoun El MARSSI Igor ALUK'YANCHUK Mohamed GOUNE 2020Journal of Advanced Ceramics2020,9,2:1
