| 3 | Discovery of ~4.0 Ga detrital zircons in the Aermantai ophiolitic mélange,East Junggar,northwest China显示文摘The East Junggar is an important part of the Central Asian Orogenic Belt(CAOB).Using in situ zircon dating and Hf isotopic analysis by LA-ICP-MS and MC-ICP-MS,respectively,a detrital zircon of 4040 Ma age was found in sedimentary sequences from the Aermantai ophiolitic mélange,East Junggar.This is the oldest age record in the East Junggar terrane,and also marks the first zircon locality in the CAOB with an age older than 4.0 Ga,which is attributed to the Hadean crust.The 4040 Ma detrital zircon has anεHf(t)value of–5.2 and a two-stage Hf modal age of 4474 Ma,suggesting the presence of very old(Hadean)crustal material in the source area.Beside peak ages of 446 Ma,we found four age groups of 3.6–3.1 Ga,2.53–2.37 Ga,1.14–0.89 Ga and 0.47–0.42 Ga from 141 effective measuring points.The age of 426±4 Ma for the five youngest detrital zircons defines the lower limit of the deposition time of sedimentary sequencess in the Aermantai ophiolitic mélange.The 0.47–0.42 Ga zircons exhibit176Hf/177Hf ratios of 0.282156 to 0.282850,corresponding to variableεHf(t)values from–9.3 to 12.0 and Hf model ages from2011 to 646 Ma.These characteristics are similar to those of the early Paleozoic igneous and gneissic zircons from the Altai,but significantly different from those of the East Junggar.Based on the material structures of felspathic greywacke,the morphology,internal texture and age distributions of dated detrital zircons,in combination with a study of the regional geological data,it is suggested that the sedimentary sequences in the Aermantai ophiolitic mélange was deposited in the Late Silurian,with the main provenance from the Altai Orogen in the north.This indicates that the early Paleozoic ocean represented by the Aermantai ophiolitic mélange was readily closed during the Late Silurian,and the northern edge of the East Junggar terrane was accreted to the Altai Orogen.The joint of them then served as a marginal orogen in the southern edge of the Siberia Paleocontinent. | HUANG Gang NIU GuangZhi ZHANG ZhanWu WANG XinLu XU XueYi GUO Jun YU Feng | 2013 | Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,30: | 9 |
| 4 | A Preliminary Study on Geological and Seismogenic Structures in the Region of 1969 M 7.4 Bohai Sea Earthquake显示文摘A more detailed and deep-going analysis of tectonic conditions for the 1989 Bohai Sea M 7.4 earthquake area has been made based on the data of oil geological exploration and results of seismological researches. The obtained result fills the gap in seismotectonic research of Large Bohai Sea earthquake area of North China. The earthquake area is located in the eastern part of Cenozoic rifted basin of the Bohai Gulf, along the intersection zone between the NNE-trending Yingkou-Weifang fault zone and the NW-trending Beijing-Penglai fault zone. In the early-Tertiary fault-depression stage, three sets of faults, the NNE-, NW-, and W-E-trending faults, were developed in the upper crust in the area. They are listric and planar in the form, of normal fault character and mostly the major faults in faulted depressions. In the fault-depression stage since late Tertiary, the preexisting faults have undergone movement to different extent. Meanwhile, a new NE-trending Huanghekou (Yellow River Mouth)-Miaoxibei fault zone was developed. The focal faulting of the M 7.4 earthquake, striking to N45°E and dipping to SE, is nearly vertical, with dextral strike-slip nature, and buried down to depth of 15~34 km. Along with the cost of weapons rising rapidly, it is indispensable to design a target assignment model that can ensure minimizing targets survivability and weapons consumption simultaneously. | 7 | Adsorption capacity of hydrophobic SiO_2 aerogel/activated carbon composite materials for TNT显示文摘The adsorption properties of TNT from wastewater by hydrophobic silica aerogel/activated carbon composite materials were investigated. The effects of adsorption time, pH value, adsorption temperature, and the amount of the composite materials on the adsorption rate were studied. The adsorption principle and mechanism of the composite materials were discussed along with the Freundlich equation. The results showed that the best adsorption rate of the hydrophobic silica aerogel/activated car-bon composite materials could reach 96.5% with adsorption conditions of adsorption temperature 25°C, pH value 7, the amount of SiO2aerogel dosage 3.33 g/L, and adsorption time of 120 min. | 8 | The thickness and structural characteristics of the crust across Tibetan plateau from active-sources seismic profiles显示文摘The Tibetan plateau as one of the youngest orogen on the Earth was considered as the result of continent-continent collision between the Eurasian and Indian plates.The thickness and structure of the crust beneath Tibetan plateau is essential to understand deformation behavior of the plateau.Active-source seismic profiling is most available geo-physical method for imaging the structure of the continental crust.The results from more than 25 active-sources seismic profiles carried out in the past twenty years were reviewed in this article.A preliminary cross crustal pattern of the Tibetan Pla-teau was presented and discussed.The Moho discontinuity buries at the range of 60-80 km on average and have steep ramps located roughly beneath the sutures that are compatible with the successive stacking/accretion of the former Cenozoic blocks northeastward.The deepest Moho(near 80 km) appears closely near IYS and the crustal scale thrust system beneath southern margin of Tibetan plateau suggests strong dependence on collision and non-distributed deformation there.However,the ~20 km order of Moho offsets hardly reappears in the inline section across northern Tibetan plateau.Without a universally accepted,convincing dynamic explanation model accommodated the all of the facts seen in controlled seismic sections,but vertical thickening and northeastern shorten of the crust is quite evident and interpretable to a certain extent as the result of continent-continent collision.Simultaneously,weak geophysical signature of the BNS suggests that convergence has been accommodated perhaps partially through pure-shear thickening accompanied by removal of lower crustal material by lateral escape.Recent years the result of Moho with ~7 km offset and long extend in south-dip angle beneath the east Kunlun oro-gen and a grand thrust fault at the northern margin of Qilian orogen has attract more attention to action from the northern blocks.The broad lower-velocity area in the upper-middle crust of the Lhasa block was once considered as resulted from partially melted rocks.However the low normal vP/vS ratio and the Moho stepwise rise fail to support significant partial melting in the middle-lower crust of the central-northern Tibetan plateau.Furthermore,the lower-velocity of crust occasionally disappears,and/or local thinned exhibits their non-stationary spatial distribution. | Qiusheng Li Rui Gao Zhanwu Lu Ye Guan Jisheng Zhang Pengwu Li Haiyan Wang Rizheng He Marianne Karplus | 2009 | Earthquake Science2009,22,1: | 5 |

| 10 | 200-kg large explosive detonation facing 50-km thick crust beneath west Qinling,northeastern Tibetan plateau显示文摘It is difficult to acquire deep seismic reflection profiles on land using the standard oil-industry acquisition parameters. This is especially true over much of Tibetan plateau not only because of severe topography and rapid variation of both velocity and thickness of near-surface layer,but also strong attenuation of seismic wave through the thickest crust of the Earth. Large explosive sources had been successfully detonated in US,but its application in Tibetan plateau rarely has an example of good quality. Presented herein is the data of a 200-kg single shot we recorded in west Qinling,northeastern Tibetan plateau. The shot gather data with phenomenal signal-to-noise ratios illustrate the energy of the PmP phase. | 11 | Static Corrections Methods in the Processing of Deep Reflection Seismic Data显示文摘Statics are big challenges for the processing of deep reflection seismic data. In this paper several different statics solutions have been implemented in the processing of deep reflection seismic data in South China and their corresponding results have been compared in order to find proper statics solutions. Either statics solutions based on tomographic principle or combining the low-frequency components of field statics with the high-frequency ones of refraction statics can provide reasonable statics solutions for deep reflection seismic data in South China with very rugged surface topography, and the two statics solutions can correct the statics anomalies of both long spatial wavelengths and short ones. The surface-consistent residual static corrections can serve as the good compensations to the several kinds of the first statics solutions. | 12 | A Preliminary Study on the Datong Fault Belt显示文摘The Datong fault belt is a NE trending fault in the northern Qinghai-Xizang (Tibet) Plateau and controls the boundary of the Xining Basin and Datong Basin. It consists of the Maziying-Miaogou (F_1) fault and the Laoye Mountain-Nanmenxia fault (F_2). There is obvious displacement in vertical direction along the belt. The field investigation results show that this belt has long-term activity. There are several meters long crushed zones and veins along the fault side in the basement rock. On the fault section,the Cambria system thrusts over the red-brick-colored Quaternary Period gravel,and there is a fault gouge of several centimeters thick developed on the fault plane. The fault gouge date (ESR) on the fault plane is 610±61ka. The covering deluvial loess is not dislocated,and the OSL result is 14.6±1.5ka. So it can be concluded that the fault belt was active in the middle Pleistocene,but inactive in the late Pleistocene according to the age data and geomorphologic features. Interior formations of the Datong basin features fold with the major axis orienting northwest. According to the relation of fault and fold deformation,Datong fault is a transversal tear,which is due to uneven compression of the folds in different parts and NNE trending regional compressive stress. It is common among the NE trending faults in the northeast of Qinghai-Xizang (Tibet) Plateau. These NE trending faults aren't large,and most are located in the active plate. | 13 | Three-dimensional electrical resistivity structure beneath the Cuonadong dome in the Northern Himalayas revealed by magnetotelluric data and its implication显示文摘The North Himalayan gneiss domes(NHGD),as one of the extensional structures widely distributed across the southern Tibetan Plateau,are an important window for studying post-collisional diastrophism and magmation as well as polymetallic mineralization.However,the deep mechanism for the formation of NHGD remains controversial.The magnetotelluric(MT)method was adopted to study the deep structure of the Cuonadong dome in the Northern Himalayas.The characteristics of the dome were explored by using the MT sounding curves and phase tensors.Three-dimensional(3D)MT inversion was performed to determine the electrical resistivity structure beneath the Cuonadong dome.The preferred 3D electrical resistivity model shows that an obvious low-resistivity anomaly develops beneath the Cuonadong dome which is overlaid by a high-resistivity body and surrounded by an apparent subcircular zone of low-resistivity anomalies.The integrated conductivity(longitudinal conductance)from depths of 1-20 km indicates that the average longitudinal conductance at the core of the Cuonadong dome is about 10,000 S.The high-conductivity anomaly at the core is found to be analogous to that of lava,mainly resulting from the crustal partial melting,and the estimated melt content is 11.0-17.3%.The high conductance surrounding the dome reaches 20,000 S on average,which is mainly attributed to saline fluids.MT results in this study support that the Cuonadong dome experienced magmatic diapirism.Taken together with previous geological and geochemical studies,we suggest that under the east-west(E-W)extensional tectonic setting in southern Tibet,deep crustal partial melting constantly accumulated beneath the dome,and therefore the magmatic diapirism resulted in the formation of the Cuonadong dome.In addition,the MT results also indicate that the development of the Cuonadong dome provides abundant mineralizing fluids and the space for migration of metallogenic fluids for(rare-metal)polymetallic mineralization. | Shuai XUE Zhanwu LU Wenhui LI Hongda LIANG Guangwen WANG Haiyan WANG Hongqiang LI Xin LI | 2022 | Science China Earth Sciences2022,65,8: | 1 |

| 19 | Application of active-source surface waves in urban underground space detection: A case study of Rongcheng County, Hebei, China显示文摘Active-source surface wave exploration is advantageous because it has high imaging accuracy,is not affected by high-speed layers,and has a low cost;thus,it has unique advantages for investigating shallow surface structures.For the development and utilization of urban underground space,two parameters in the shallow surface are important,namely,the shear wave velocity(V_(S))and the predominant period of the site,which determine the elevation and aseismic grade of the building design.The traditional method is mainly to obtain the two above-mentioned parameters through testing and measuring drilling samples.However,this method is extremely expensive and time consuming.Therefore,in this research,we used the multichannel surface wave acquisition method to extract the fundamental dispersion curve of single-shot data by using the phase shift method and obtain the V_(S) characteristics in the uppermost 40 m by inversion.We arrived at the following two conclusions based on the V_(S) profile.First,the study area can be roughly divided into five layers,among which the layers 0−8 m,14−20 m,and 20−30 m are low-velocity layers,corresponding to miscellaneous fill,a water-bearing sand layer,and a sand layer;therefore,the V_(S) is relatively low.In contrast,the layers at 8−14 m and 30−40 m are high-velocity layers that are mainly composed of clay,with a relatively better compactness and relatively high V_(S) values.In addition,a low-speed anomaly appears abruptly in the high-speed area at 20−40 m.This anomaly,when combined with geological data,suggests that it is an ancient river channel.Second,from the V_(S) value,the V_(Se)(equivalent shear wave velocity)was calculated.The construction site soil was categorized as class III,with good conditions for engineering geology.In addition,we calculated the predominant period of the site to be 0.56-0.77 s based on the V_(S).Therefore,in the overall structural design of the foundation engineering,the natural vibration period of the structure should be strictly controlled to avoid the predominant period of the site. | GuangWen Wang HaiYan Wang HongQiang Li ZhanWu Lu WenHui Li TaiRan Xu | 2022 | Earth and Planetary Physics2022,6,4: | 1 |
