| 2 | Effects of the accumulation of the rare earth elements on soil macrofauna community显示文摘The accumulation of rare earth elements (REEs) in soil has occurred due to the pollution caused by the exploitation of rare earth resources and the wide rare earth fertilizers in agriculture. The accumulation of REEs has a toxic effect on the soil macrofauna community. 12 study samples were collected near a mine tailings dam with a large amount of REEs by distance gradient sample method. The total concentration of REEs was analyzed and the results were compared with that of the sample from a control site. The effects of the amount of REEs in the soil on the soil macrofauna community were also analyzed. The results showed that the accumulation of REEs in soil was significant in the study area and its concentration was strongly correlated with the distance from the pollution source. One-way ANOVA analysis indicated the significant differences in soil macrofauna communities among the different sites. The ordination obtained through the redundancy analysis demonstrated that the concentration of REEs and the total nitrogen, total potassium and pH, had affected the soil macrofauna community. A small amount of REEs in the soil can promote the diversity of soil macrofauna, but a large amount of REEs can reduce its diversity. The insect groups of Carabidae and Dermaptera were comparatively sensitive to the concentration of REEs in soil, and could be used as an indicator of soil pollution of REEs. However, the Formicidae and Stibaropus formosanus exhibited a high tolerance to REEs in soil. | 3 | POLYMER CHARGE AND MOLECULAR WEIGHT EFFECTS ON TREATED IRRIGATION FURROW PROCESSES显示文摘Application of 5-10 mg L-1 water soluble anionic polyacrylamide (PAM) to furrow irrigation water during flow advance substantially reduces sediment loss and increases net infiltration. We hypothesized that PAM_s solvated molecular conformation influences its irrigation-management efficacy. The study was conducted in Kimberly, Idaho, on Portneuf silt loam (Durinodic Xeric Haplocalcids), under furrowirrigated beans (Phaseolus vulgaris ) at a 1.5% slope. Polyacrylamides with contrasting molecular weight (anionic; 4-7, 12- 15 and 14-17 MDa, i.e. Mg mol-1 ), charge type (neutral, anionic, cationic), and charge density (8, 19, 35 mol %) were tested in two studies. Inflow rate was 23 L min-1 during furrow advance, and 15 L min-1 for the remaining set. Anionic and neutral PAMs were twice as effective as cationic PAMs for controlling sediment loss in new furrows. The order of effectiveness for overall soilloss control was : anionic >neutral >cationic PAM, and efficacy increased with increasing charge density and/or molecular weight. Net furrow infiltration increased by 14 to 19% when PAM treatment molecular weight was reduced from 17 to 4 MDa. General trends suggested that medium and high charge density anionic and neutral PAM produced the greatest increase in infiltration compared with controls.Compared with untreated furrows, neutral PAM gave the greatest season-long net infiltration gains (5%),while charged PAMs tended to increase net infiltration early in the season on new furrows but decreased infiltration on repeat-irrigated furrows later in the season. | R. | 4 | The effects of Trichoderma on preventing cucumber fusarium wilt and regulating cucumber physiology显示文摘In our previous studies, we identified 3 Trichoderma strains with anti-Fusarium oxysporum activity, including T. asperellum 525, T. harzianum 610, and T. pseudokoningii 886. Here, we evaluated the effects of these 3 Trichoderma strains on preventing cucumber fusarium wilt through pot culture and greenhouse culture experiments. All 3 Trichoderma strains demonstrated higher control effects toward cucumber fusarium wilt than previous studies, with efficacies over 78%. Additionally, inoculation with the 3 Trichoderma strains significantly promoted the quality and yield of cucumbers. Among the 3 strains, Trichoderma 866 was the most effective, with disease control efficacy of 78.64% and a cucumber yield increase of 33%. Furthermore, seedlings inoculated with Trichoderma exhibited significantly increased measures of plant height, stem diameter, leaf area, aboveground fresh weight, underground fresh weight, chlorophyll content, and nitric nitrogen content, as well as the activities of several stress-resistance enzymes, including superoxide dismutase(SOD), peroxidase(POD), catalase(CAT), polyphenol oxidase(PPO), and ascorbate oxidase(AAO). In addition, the plants inoculated with Trichoderma showed decreased cell membrane permeability and malondialdehyde(MDA) content in the leaves. Together, our results suggest that T. asperellum 525, T. harzianum 610, and T. pseudokoningii 886 inoculations inhibit F. oxysporum infection, stimulate the metabolism in cucumbers, and enhance the activities of stress-resistance enzymes, which consequently promote the growth of cucumber plants, prevent cucumber fusarium wilt, and improve the yield and quality of cucumbers. T. harzianum is a commonly used biocontrol fungus, while few studies have focused on T. asperellum or T. koningense. | 5 | Damper placement for seismic control of super-long-span suspension bridges based on the first-order optimization method显示文摘To ensure the anti-earthquake performances of super-long-span suspension bridges, effective devices should be employed to control the seismic response of key sections. In this paper, four kinds of assessment functions for seismic response control effect are formulated based on the mechanism of seismic response control with dampers and the seismic response characteristics of long-span suspension bridges. A new optimal placement method of dampers using penalty function and first-order optimization theory is then proposed. Runyang suspension bridge (RSB) with a main span of 1490 m is then taken as an example. After seismic response time-history analyses on RSB using different placements of dampers, the analysis results are optimized by employing the optimal placement method and the optimal placements of dampers with the four assessment functions are then achieved respectively. Comparison of the four optimal control effects show that different assessment functions can lead to different optimal placements when the number of dampers is certain, but all placements of dampers can reduce the seismic response of RSB significantly. The selection of assessment functions and damper optimal placement should be determined by the structural characteristics and by what is considered in the structures. | 7 | Controllable wave propagation in a weakly nonlinear monoatomic lattice chain with nonlocal interaction and active control显示文摘The one-dimensional monoatomic lattice chain connected by nonlinear springs is investigated, and the asymptotic solution is obtained through the Lindstedt-Poincar′e perturbation method. The dispersion relation is derived with the consideration of both the nonlocal and the active control effects. The numerical results show that the nonlocal effect can effectively enhance the frequency in the middle part of the dispersion curve.When the nonlocal effect is strong enough, zero and negative group velocities will be evoked at different points along the dispersion curve, which will provide different ways of transporting energy including the forward-propagation, localization, and backwardpropagation of wavepackets related to the phase velocity. Both the nonlinear effect and the active control can enhance the frequency, but neither of them is able to produce zero or negative group velocities. Specifically, the active control enhances the frequency of the dispersion curve including the point at which the reduced wave number equals zero, and therefore gives birth to a nonzero cutoff frequency and a band gap in the low frequency range. Test results and comprehensive evaluation analysis demonstrated that 72% Bt·monosultap WP and 8%lambda-cyhalothrin·emamectin benzoate SA by manual spraying and unmanned aerial vehicle spraying had good prevention and control effect on strains and internodes damaged by Tryporyza intacta Snellen in middle and late stage, which were ideal new biological formulations with high effi-ciency and low risk for prevention and control of T. intacta in middle and late stage, and could be popularized in sugarcane area. 72% Bt·monosultap WP at the dose of 3 000 g/hectare and 8% lambda-cyhalothrin·emamectin benzoate SA at the dose of 750 mL/hectare could be sprayed in mid September at the peak occurrence period of the forth and fifth generations of T. intacta and Proceras venosatus. | 16 | Preliminary Study on Biological Control of Mycotoxin Contamination in Agricultural Products and Its Mechanism显示文摘Aflatoxin is the most powerful carcinogen and highly toxic mycotoxin known in nature. It can cause serious toxin pollution to agricultural products, foods and fodders, and is extremely harmful to human and animal health. For aflatoxin pollution, the emphasis is on the control of source, and biological control is favored by scientists because of its advantages of environmental protection and ecological safety. According to the morphology, color and appearance of microbial colonies isolated from maize kernels, 300 bacterial strains were obtained from main maize-producing areas including Tangshan City, Handan City, Shijiazhuang City and Cangzhou City. Two biocontrol bacterial strains(B120 and B65) having a strong control effect on aflatoxins were screened. After identification by molecular biology and physical and chemical properties, the two biocontrol bacterial strains were identified as Bacillus amyloliquefaciens. Their effects on spore germination, mycelial growth and toxin degradation of Aspergillus flavus were investigated. The results showed that strains B120 and B65 could significantly inhibit the spore germination and mycelial growth of A. flavus and reduce aflatoxin production. | 17 | Dosage Screening and Effect Evaluation of Biological Agents against Cotton Verticillium Wilt through Drip Irrigation显示文摘Drip irrigation of biological agents is an important green pathway to prevent diseases in Xinjiang cotton fields, especially soil-borne diseases. In order to clear the suitable dosage of different biological agents for controlling cotton Verticillium wilt, field split plot experiment was designed to research the control effects of Bacillus subtilis WP (15, 30 and 45 kg/hm^2), Shibeijian Trichoderma harzianum (15, 18 and 24 kg/hm^2), Yufeng“99”(15, 22.5 and 30 kg/hm^2), Zhongnonglukang (30, 45 and 60 kg/hm^2) and Athomin (45, 60 and 75 kg/hm^2) on cotton Vertillium wilt in 2016 and 2017. The disease control effect against cotton Verticillium wilt, cotton growth, cotton yield and fiber quality were compared and analyzed by biometrical method. The results showed that five biological agents significantly reduced the incidence rate and disease index of cotton Verticillium wilt, and the average control effect reached 33.50%-74.94%. The control effect of Shibeijian T. harzianum dripped at the dosage of 18 kg/hm^2 was significantly higher than that dripped at 15 and 24 kg/hm^2. There was no significant difference between different application dosages in Athomin treatment. The control effect of the remaining three agents had significantly positive correlation with application dosage. Five biological agents had obvious promotion effects on cotton growth, and the cotton height, width of the top fourth leaf, fruit branch number and boll number per plant were increased in different levels. The cotton height and width of the top fourth leaf had no obvious changes with the increase of dosage, while the fruit branch number and boll number increased with the increasing dosage. Meanwhile, these biological agents significantly advanced the maturity of cotton. Except for Athomin treatment, the cotton seed yield in other treatments showed an increasing trend and increased significantly with the increasing dosage. The cotton fiber length and fiber breaking tenacity were improved slightly, but cotton quality had not been improved conspicuously. Therefore, according to disease control effect, cotton growth and yield performance, the suitable drip dosage of biological agents were as follows: Yufeng '99' 30 kg/hm^2, Zhongnonglukang 60 kg/hm^2, B. subtilis WP 45.0 kg/hm^2, and Shibejian T. harzianum 18.0 kg/hm^2. The results show that if the maximum rotor power coefficient of a wind-driven generator is 0. 5,the forward movement speed of sand body( or desert)( 8 827 km × 1 m × 1 m) will reduce by 1 m every year through the development and conversion of wind energy resources in Hexi Corridor. | 20 | Influences of the inner diameter of the solid shielding tube on the characteristics of the radio-frequency cold atmospheric plasma jet显示文摘Active control of the local environment of the cold atmospheric plasma(CAP) jet is of great importance in actual applications since the CAP operates in an open atmosphere with the inevitable entrainment of the surrounding cold air. In this paper, the solid shielding effects of the cylindrical quartz tubes with different inner diameters on the characteristics of the CAP jets driven by a radio-frequency(RF) power supply are studied experimentally. The experimental results show that the total length of the shielded plasma jet can be increased significantly by an appropriate combination of the quartz tube inner diameter and that of the plasma generator nozzle exit with other parameters being unchanged. This phenomenon may be qualitatively attributed to the loss of diffusion of the charged particles in the radial direction under different inner diameters of the quartz tubes. Compared with the plasma free jet, the plasma shielding jet is produced with optimized parameters including longer plasma jet length, higher concentrations of chemically reactive species, higher rotational, vibrational, and electron excitation temperatures when the inner diameters of the solid shielding tube and the generator nozzle exit are the same. A maximum plasma jet length of 52.0 cm is obtained in contrast to that of 5.0 cm of the plasma free jet in this study.
