1Hyaluronic acid fragments evoke Kupffer cells via TLR4 signaling pathway显示文摘Kupffer cells, expressing toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4), play a central role in hepatic ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury. Hyaluronic acid (HA) fragments, degradative products of high-molecular-weight HA (HMW-HA), acquire the ability to activate immune cells under inflammatory conditions. Here we inves- tigated whether HA fragments could activate Kupffer cells and analyzed the underlying mechanism. Kupffer cells were isolated from wild-type mice (WT, C3H/HeN) and TLR4 mutant mice (C3H/HeJ) and HA fragments were produced by the methods of enzyme digestion and chromatography. Then Kupffer cells were stimulated by HA fragments or other control stimuli. The activation of Kupffer cells was estimated as the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines. The activation of p38 MAPK pathway of Kupffer cells was checked and blocking experiments were done as well. The results indicated that HA fragments acquired the ability to activate Kupffer cells in vitro, which was TLR4 dependent and not due to contamination of lipopolysaccharide. Experiments of p38 MAPK kinase inhibition by SB-203580 verified p38 MAPK was required in HA fragments induced Kupffer cells activation. 2Direct technetium-99m labeling of anti-hepatoma monoclonal antibody fragment:a radioimmunoconjugate for hepatocellular carcinoma imaging显示文摘AIM To directly radiolabel an anti-hepatomamAb fragment HAb18 F(ab’)2 with 99mTc bystannous-reduced method,and assess thestability,biodistribution and radioimmun-oimaging(RⅡ).METHODS Immunoreactive fraction wasdetermined according to Lindmo’s method.Ellman’s reagent was used to determine thenumber of thiols in the reduced F(ab’)2.Labelingefficiency and homogeneity were measured bypaper chromatography,sodium dodecylsulphatepolyacrylamide gel electrophoresis(SDS-PAGE)and autoradiography.Challenge assay involvedthe incubation of aliquots of labeled antibody inethylenediaminetetraacetate( EDTA )and L-cysteine(L-cys)solutions with different molarratio at 37℃ for 1h,respectively.Investigationsin vivo utilized nude mice bearing humanhepatocellular carcinoma(HHCC)xenograftswith gamma camera imaging and tissuebiodistribution studies at regular intervals.RESULTS The labeling procedure was finishedwithin 1.5 h compared with the'pretinning'method which would take at least 21h.In vitrostudies demonstrated that the radiolabeled mAbfragment was homogeneous and retained itsimmunoreactivity.Challenge studies indicatedthat 99mTc-labeled HAb18 F(ab’)2 in EDTA is morestable than in L-cys.Imaging and biodistribution showed a significant tumor uptake at 24 h post-injection of 99mTc-labeled HAb18 F(ab’)2.Theblood,kidney,liver and tumor uptakes at 24hwere 0.56±0.09,56.45±11.36,1.43±0.27 and6.57±3.01(%ID/g),respectively.CONCLUSION 99mTc-HAb18 F(ab’)2 conjugateprepared by this direct method appears to be aneffective way to detect hepatoma in nude micemodel.Hui Jie Bian Zhi Nan Chen Jing Lan Deng 2000World Journal of Gastroenterology2000,6,3:13

5Pathological significance of tRNA-derived small RNAs in neurological disorders显示文摘Non-coding RNAs(ncRNAs) are a type of RNA that is not translated into proteins. Transfer RNAs(tRNAs), a type of ncRNA, are the second most abundant type of RNA in cells. Recent studies have shown that tRNAs can be cleaved into a heterogeneous population of ncRNAs with lengths of 18–40 nucleotides, known as tRNA-derived small RNAs(tsRNAs). There are two main types of tsRNA, based on their length and the number of cleavage sites that they contain: tRNA-derived fragments and tRNA-derived stress-induced RNAs. These RNA species were first considered to be byproducts of tRNA random cleavage. However, mounting evidence has demonstrated their critical functional roles as regulatory factors in the pathophysiological processes of various diseases, including neurological diseases. However, the underlying mechanisms by which tsRNAs affect specific cellular processes are largely unknown. Therefore, this study comprehensively summarizes the following points:(1) The biogenetics of tsRNA, including their discovery, classification, formation, and the roles of key enzymes.(2) The main biological functions of tsRNA, including its miRNA-like roles in gene expression regulation, protein translation regulation, regulation of various cellular activities, immune mediation, and response to stress.(3) The potential mechanisms of pathophysiological changes in neurological diseases that are regulated by tsRNA, including neurodegeneration and neurotrauma.(4) The identification of the functional diversity of tsRNA may provide valuable information regarding the physiological and pathophysiological mechanisms of neurological disorders, thus providing a new reference for the clinical treatment of neurological diseases. Research into tsRNAs in neurological diseases also has the following challenges: potential function and mechanism studies, how to accurately quantify expression, and the exact relationship between tsRNA and miRNA. 6Use of chondral fragments for one stage cartilage repair: A systematic review显示文摘AIM: To investigate the state of the art regarding Cartilage Autograft Implantation System(CAIS) or Particulated Juvenile Allograft Cartilage(PJAC).METHODS: The authors searched the English literature regarding CAIS and PJAC. The search strategy was:(particulated cartilage) OR autologous cartilage fragments. All basic science articles were included. Clinical articles with less than 10 patients treated and less than 6 mo of follow-up were excluded. With these criteria, a total of 17 articles were available for the present review. RESULTS: PJAC and CAIS are relatively novel techniques for cartilage repair. Good basic science evidence was described to support the concept. Although the preliminary clinical reports show encouraging results, clinical data are still limited, especially for CAIS. The indications for both techniques need to be precisely defined(age of the patients, size of the lesion, and involvement of the subchondral bone), together with other debated issues. CONCLUSION: In conclusion, the authors can state that encouraging preliminary results are available for both techniques. 7Concurrent removal of intravitreal lens fragments after phacoemulsification with pars plana vitrectomy prevents development of retinal detachment显示文摘AIM: To evaluate the outcomes of 'concurrent vitrectomy' to retrieve dislocated lens fragment during phacoemulsification.METHODS: In a retrospective, observational case series, data of patients who underwent 'concurrent' pars plana vitrectomy(PPV) for dislocated lens fragments between the period 2000 and 2008 were reviewed. Data collected included patient demographics, pre-operative visual acuity, intra-operative occurrence of retinal breaks, duration of follow up, post-operative intraocular pressure, final best-corrected visual acuity(BCVA),presence of cystoid macular edema(CME) and occurrence of rhegmatogenous retinal detachment(RRD).· RESULTS: A total of 58 eyes of 58 patients were included in the study. At 12 mo the mean postoperative BCVA was log MAR 0.17(20/30) with a range of log MAR0 to 0.69(20/20 to 20/100), with 96.6%(56/58) of patients showing post- operative improvement in visual acuity(P =0.005). 8Projected area and drag coefficient of high velocity irregular fragments that rotate or tumble显示文摘3 degrees of freedom(DOF)exterior ballistic computer models are used in fragment studies to calculate individual trajectories of each fragment based on drag coefficient and the projected(presented)area in the direction of velocity of center of mass.The expectation of a randomly distributed projected area is commonly used for fragments that tumble(random rotation)during flight.We forecast a model where the expected drag coefficient is dependent of shape and Mach number.Rotation or tumbling only affects the expected projected area.Models of projected areas during tumbling and rotation are presented.An examination of the data by Mc Cleskey(1988)indicates that the volume of the fragment to the power of2/3 is a better parameter to characterize the drag coefficient of the fragments than the maximum projected area.Hydrocode simulations are used to verify results and to study projected area and drag coefficient of fragments.John F. The Gorodisskiy's method is developed to be applied for the neutron-induced fission. Here we revised it for application to photofission. The effect of emitted neutron prior to fission on the fission fragment mass yields has also been studied. The peak-to-valley ratio is extracted for the240 Pu isotope as a function of energy. Obtained results of the present formalism are compared with the available experimental data. 12Underwater explosion effects of 60 mm H.E. mortar bomb on a cylindrical concrete structure-PIT显示文摘PIT tests are usually performed when a mass distribution of High Explosive(H.E) projectile fragments is required. This paper shows the underwater detonation effects of 60 mm, M90 H.E. mortar bomb filled with Comp. B on cylindrical concrete structure(concrete pipe closed at one end-similar to a PIT test)which is 2 m high(inner height) with inner diameter of also 2 m. Thickness of both wall and bottom of a pipe is 0.35 m. Detailed characteristics of concrete which is used for manufacturing of a pipe are specified. Mortar bomb is submerged directly in to the water(no free airspace around the bomb) with the nose pointing to the bottom of a pipe. Number and mass of fragments after detonation are presented by table and photographs. Fragments of dummy fuze, through which blasting cap was protruded, are collected and reassembled to form a shape of a fuze after detonation where expanding of fuze material due to a detonation products is visualized. After underwater detonation, detonation of the same mortar bomb is performed in an empty pipe and the effects of this kind of detonation are observed. 13Impact of patch size on woody tree species richness and abundance in a tropical montane evergreen forest patches of south India显示文摘We examined the effects of forest patch size on woody tree species richness and abundance in tropical montane evergreen forest patches of the Nilgiri region,south India. We sampled woody trees(>1 cm dbh) from 21 forest patches in the upper Nilgiri hills(> 2000 m elevation) and recorded a total of 35,146 individuals of 61 species, 45 genera and 30 families. Species richness and abundance of sapling/shrubs(≥ 1 to < 10 cm dbh)increased significantly with increasing patch size, but the species richness and abundance of small, medium and larger trees(≥ 10 to < 30, ≥ 30 to < 60 and ≥ 60 cm dbh,respectively) did not. Overall, forest interior species richness and abundance increased significantly with increasing patch size but edge species richness did not. Species richness and abundance of shade-tolerant and shade-demanding tree species also increased with increasing patch size. The abundance of zoochory dispersed tree species was significantly related to increasing patch size, but those dispersed by autochory did not display any clear relationship between patch size and species richness or abundance.Our findings suggest that with increasing forest patch area,tree compositional patterns may be driven by species specific shade-tolerance adaptations and dispersal patterns.Differential responses in these traits by the plant community within the individual habitat zones of forest edge and interiors likely plays a major role in determining the inherent plant community and thus the subsequent ecological processes of forest patches, including their responses to increasing patch area.Dharmalingam Mohandass Mason J.Campbell Priya Davidar 2018Journal of Forestry Research2018,29,6:1

15A generalized model for estimation of aerodynamic forces and moments for irregularly shaped bodies显示文摘A novel method for estimation of an aerodynamic force and moment acting on an irregularly shaped body (such as HE projectile fragments) during its flight through the atmosphere is presented. The model assumes that fragments can be approximated with a tri-axial ellipsoid that has continuous surface given as a mathematical function. The model was validated with CFD data for a tri-axial ellipsoid and verified using CFD data on aerodynamic forces and moments acting on an irregularly shaped fragment. The contribution of this method is that it represents a significant step toward a modeling that does not require a cumbersome CFD simulation results for estimation of fragment dynamic and kinematic parameters. Due to this advantage, the model can predict the fragment motion consuming a negligible time when compared to the corresponding time consumed by CFD simulations. 18Estimation of projected surface area of irregularly shaped fragments显示文摘The essence and the main contribution of this paper are consisted of the suggested novel method for estimation of a projected surface area of an irregularly shaped fragment, which represents a significant step toward a new method of an aerodynamic force estimation of a fragment motion through a resistive medium. The suggested method is to use a tri-axial ellipsoid that has a continuous surface(given as a mathematical function) to approximate an irregularly shaped fragment so that the fragment trajectory can be estimated faster taking into consideration that the aerodynamic force is proportional to a projected surface area of the fragment.During their motion, fragments can take any orientation relative to the velocity vector and aerodynamic force is proportional to a projected surface area of fragment perpendicular to the velocity vector,so it is necessary to have a method for correct estimation of the projected area in an arbitrary direction relatively to the fragment.The model was validated with analytical and CAD techniques, and verified using 3D model of a real fragment. 19Material Equivalent Test Based on Dimensional Analysis for Fragment Penetrating Antenna Target显示文摘Phased array radar is the main sensor in a battlefield.Phased array antenna is the main execution unit of the phased array radar,and it greatly affects the reliability of the phased array radar. As a result,the fragment damaged antenna test is important.As the materials of phased array antenna are not easy to get,the fragment damaged antenna test is difficult to carry out. Then we present a study on this problem and introduce the principles of dimensional analysis to solve it. Firstly, the fragments damage antenna target dimensionless model is constructed. Secondly,the finite element analysis software ANSYS / LS-DYNA are used to carry out a large number of different materials simulation test for dimensional analysis. Finally,based on dimensional test analysis,the materials equivalent empirical model between different antennas target is presented in the same damage. 20Crustal structure and sedimentation history over the Alleppey platform, southwest continental margin of India:Constraints from multichannel seismic and gravity data显示文摘The Alleppey Platform is an important morphological feature located in the Kerala-Konkan basin off the southwest coast of India. In the present study, seismic reflection data available in the basin were used to understand the sedimentation history and also to carry out integrated gravity interpretation. Detailed seismic reflection data in the basin reveals that:(1) the Alleppey Platform is associated with a basement high in the west of its present-day geometry(as observed in the time-structure map of the Trap Top(K/T boundary)),(2) the platform subsequently started developing during the Eocene period and attained the present geometry by the Miocene and,(3) both the Alleppey platform and the Vishnu fracture zone have had significant impact on the sedimentation patterns(as shown by the time-structure and the isochron maps of the major sedimentary horizons in the region). The 3-D sediment gravity effect computed from the sedimentary layer geometry was used to construct the crustal Bouguer anomaly map of the region.The 3-D gravity inversion of crustal Bouguer anomaly exhibits a Moho depression below the western border of the platform and a minor rise towards the east which then deepens again below the Indian shield. The 2-D gravity modelling across the Alleppey platform reveals the geometry of crustal extension,in which there are patches of thin and thick crust. The Vishnu Fracture Zone appears as a crustal-scale feature at the western boundary of the Alleppey platform. Based on the gravity model and the seismic reflection data, we suggest that the basement high to the west of the present day Alleppey platform remained as a piece of continental block very close to the mainland with the intervening depression filling up with sediments during the rifting.
