| 1 | 四川何家山崖墓出土神兽镜及相关问题研究显示文摘The divinity and animal design mirror unearthed from a rock-cut tomb at Hejiashan, Sichuan province, belongs to the system of mirrors with divinity and animal designs in three zones and distinctly differs from those of the Wu system in the middle and lower Yangtze River valley. It should be classified as one of the “Shu mirrors” in the upper Yangtze River. Bearing the southern cultural tradition, mirrors with divinity and animal designs in three zones feature that the representation of the immortal world on them does not centre on the images of Huangdi, Shennong and Cangji but emphasizes the sacred icons of Shun (Dijun), Ehuang and Ntiying, characteristic of the southern cultural tradition and strong regionalism. | 2 | 论郭店一号楚墓所出漆耳杯文及墓主和竹简的年代显示文摘On the lacquered eared-cup unearthed in 1995 from the No. 1 Chu tomb at Guodian, Jingmen, Hubei, there is the inscription “Donggong zhi shi 东宫之币.” Among the characters the “donggong” must refer to the crown prince of the Chu state, and the last character, in the light of the characteristics and evolutionary laws of similar phrases in inscriptions on oracle bones and bronzes as well as in those of the Eastern Zhou period, should be deciphered as the word “teacher.” So the whole inscription means the teacher of the Chu crown prince. | 3 | Local icariin application enhanced periodontal tissue regeneration and relieved local inflammation in a minipig model of periodontitis显示文摘Periodontitis is an inflammatory autoimmune disease. Treatment should alleviate inflammation, regulate the immune reaction and promote periodontal tissue regeneration. Icariin is the main active ingredient of Epimedii Folium, and it is a promising compound for the enhancement of mesenchymal stem cell function, promotion of bone formation, inhibition of bone resorption, alleviation of inflammation and regulation of immunity. The study investigated the effect of icariin on periodontal tissue regeneration in a minipig model of periodontitis. The minipig model of periodontitis was established. Icariin was injected locally. The periodontal clinical assessment index, a computed tomography(CT) scan, histopathology and enzyme-linked immune sorbent assay(ELISA)were used to evaluate the effects of icariin. Quantitative analysis results 12 weeks post-injection demonstrated that probing depth,gingival recession, attachment loss and alveolar bone regeneration values were(3.72 ± 1.18) mm vs.(6.56 ± 1.47) mm,(1.67 ± 0.59)mm vs.(2.38 ± 0.61) mm,(5.56 ± 1.29) mm vs.(8.61 ± 1.72) mm, and(25.65 ± 5.13) mm3 vs.(9.48 ± 1.78) mm3 in the icariin group and0.9% NaCl group, respectively. The clinical assessment, CT scan, and histopathology results demonstrated significant enhancement of periodontal tissue regeneration in the icariin group compared to the 0.9% NaCl group. The ELISA results suggested that the concentration of interleukin-1 beta(IL-1β) in the icariin group was downregulated compared to the 0.9% NaCl group, which indicates that local injection of icariin relieved local inflammation in a minipig model of periodontitis. Local injection of icariin promoted periodontal tissue regeneration and exerted anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory function. | 11 | An example of earthquake nucleation of the strong continental earthquakes显示文摘 Introduction The study on earthquake nucleation is widely concerned by seismologists in the world. The experimental and theoretical studies indicate that earthquakes should be preceded by quasi-static slip within a nucleation zone (Oh-naka, 1992; Dodge, Beroza, 1995; Dodge, et al, 1996; Ohnaka, Kuwahara, 1990; Yamashita, Ohnaka, 1991). The earthquake nucleation process means a transition from quasi-static to quasi-dynamic rupture process, and it itself is a short-term precursor. Immediate foreshocks are local dynamic instabilities that occur during the transition from the quasi-static to the quasi-dynamic nucleation of the dynamic instability (Ohnaka, 1992). According to the recent theoretical study, immediate foreshocks can be regarded as the localized fractures accompanied by the quasi-static nucleation process of a large earthquake (Shibazaki, Matsu'ura, 1995). Therefore, foreshocks could occur during the nucleation process. The nucleation of earthquakes can be illuminated through analyzing foreshock activity in detail. Detection of the nucleation process by means of a foreshock study is a potential tool for earthquake predic-tion. The nucleation process of Izu peninsula earthquake with M=7.0 on January 14, 1978 is revealed by Ohnaka with foreshock activities. It was observed that the nucleation zone indicated by foreshocks grew at a rate of 1~40 cm/s before reaching a diameter of 10 km. The depths of foreshocks do not change much more, keep within 10 km. Recently, Hurukawa have studied the nucleation process of Off-Etorofu earthquake with MW=7.9 on December 3, 1995. The results show distinctly the nucleation process before the main shock. In the nucleation process, rupture started at the deepest point of the foreshock area, and then propagated to the shallow depth with the apparent ve-locity of 5~20 cm/s (Hurukawa, 1998). Rastogi and Mandal (1998) studied the rupture nucleation process of five Koyna medium-sized main shocks using the time-space patterns of foreshocks. They found that the nucleation zone grew at a rate of 0.5~10 cm/s until it finally attained a diameter of about 10 km before the occurrence of the main shock and the fracture nucleated at shallow depths and gradually deepened, the main shock occurred at the deepest point of the nucleation zone, that is, at the depth of about 8~11 km. Here, a phase-shaped femtosecond laser field is first proposed to control the transfer of multiphoton excited energy from Tm^(3+) to Yb^(3+) ions in co-doped glass ceramics. Tm^(3+) ions are first sensitized by femtosecond laser-induced multiphoton absorption, and then a highly efficient energy transfer occurs between the highly excited state Tm^(3+) sensitizers and the ground-state Yb^(3+) activators. The laser peak intensity and polarization dependences of the laser-induced luminescence intensities are shown to serve as proof of the multiphoton excited energy transfer pathway.The efficiency of the multiphoton excited energy transfer can be efficiently enhanced or completely suppressed by optimizing the spectral phase of the femtosecond laser with a feedback control strategy based on a genetic algorithm. A(1+2) resonance-mediated three-photon excitation model is presented to explain the experimental observations.
