1Validity and reliability testing of the Chinese (mainland) version of the 39-item Parkinson's Disease Questionnaire (PDQ-39)显示文摘The 39-item Parkinson's Disease Questionnaire (PDQ-39) has been tested in many languages, but not in Chinese mainland. We aimed to assess the Chinese (mainland) version of the PDQ-39. Seventy-one subjects with Parkinson's disease (PD) completed the PDQ-39 and the Medical Outcomes Study 36-item Short Form Health Survey (SF-36). All subjects were retested with the PDQ-39 a week later. The united Parkinson's disease rating scale (UPDRS) and the Hoehn and Yahr (H & Y) scale were also used to evaluate the subjects. Reliability was assessed by Cron- bach's α and intra-class correlation coefficient (ICC). Validity was examined in terms of agreement with SF-36, UPDRS, and H & Y scales. The Chinese (mainland) version of the PDQ-39 demonstrated acceptable reliability (Cronbach's α: 0.84-0.88; ICC: 0.56-0.82). The item-total correlations (0.33-0.88) and scaling success rates (77.56%) indicated satisfactory convergent and discriminant validity of the PDQ-39 items. The correlations between related constructs of the PDQ-39 and UPDRS (r=0.44-0.68) and between those of the PDQ-39 and SF-36 (r=(-0.46)-(-0.69)) were all statistically significant (P<0.01). Except for stigma, cognitions, and bodily discomfort, all other dimensions of the PDQ-39 significantly discriminated patients at different H & Y stages indicated by the H & Y scale. 3The Impact of Nonlinear Stability and Instability on the Validity of the Tangent Linear Model显示文摘The impact of nonlinear stability and instability on the validity of tangent linear model (TLM) is investigated by comparing its results with those produced by the nonlinear model (NLM) with the identical initialperturbations. The evolutions of different initial perturbations superposed on the nonlinearly stable andunstable basic flows are examined using the two-dimensional quasi-geostrophic models of doubleperiodic-boundary condition and rigid boundary condition. The results indicate that the valid time period of TLM. during tvhich TLM can be utilized to approximate NLM wlth given accuracy. varies with the magnitudes of the perturbations and the nonlinear stabilityand instability of the basic flows. The larger the magnitude of the perturbation is, the shorter the valid timePeriod. The more nonlinearly unstable the basic flow is. the shorter the valid time period of TLM. 5Food Frequency Questionnaire for Chinese Children Aged 12-17 Years: Validity and Reliability显示文摘Objective The primary objective of this study was to examine the validity and reliability of a semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire(FFQ) among Chinese children aged 12-17 years. Methods A semi-quantitative 72-food item FFQ was developed for children aged 12-17 years. The reliability and validity of this FFQ were evaluated against 24-h dietary recalls(24 h DRs) to measure the consumption of foods and nutrients. We administered two FFQs and three DRs to children(N = 160) over a period of 1 month to evaluate the reliability and validity. Reliability was examined by quartile agreement and intraclass correlation coefficients(ICCs), and validity was examined by quartile agreement, Bland-Altman plots and correlation with DRs. Results For reliability, the ICCs between the two FFQs ranged from 0.21 to 0.76 for foods and nutrients, and the quartile agreement ranged from 70.0% to 95.0% in the same or adjacent quartiles. Spearman’s correlation coefficients of foods and nutrients between the second FFQ and the 24 h DRs ranged from-0.04 to 0.59. The Bland-Altman plots demonstrated good agreement across the range of intakes among nutrients. The quartile agreement ranged from 50.0% to 100.0%, with infrequent misclassification. 6Validity and Reliability of Chinese Physical Activity Questionnaire for Children Aged 10-17 Years显示文摘Objective This study is aimed to report the development,the reliability and validity of the Chinese Children Physical Activity Questionnaire(CCPAQ)which was designed for the assessment of physical activity pattern in young population in China.Methods The CCPAQ was administered for two times in 119 children(mean age 13.1±2.4 years;boys 47%)to examine reliability by using intraclass correlation coefficients.Validity was determined in 106 participants by agreement with the CCPAQ measures and the objective method,the ActiGraph accelerometer.Data on physical activity patter n including time spe nt on d iff ere nt intensi ties and total physical activity,sedentary behavior as well as physical activity energy expenditure were used to assess the validity with Spearman's correlation coefficient and the Bland-Altman plots.Results The reliability coefficient of the CCPAQ ranged from 0.63-0.93(Intra-class correlation coefficient).Spearman's correlation coefficient for validity of time spent on total physical activity and sedentary behavior were all 0.32(P<0.001),and for physical activity energy expenditure was 0.58(P<0.001).Time spent on moderate-to-vigorous physical activity and light physical activity showed a relatively low correlation with the accelerometer(rho=0.20,P=0.040;rho=0.19,P=0.054).Conclusion The CCPAQ appears to be a promising and feasible method to assess physical activity pattern in Chinese children.YANG Xi JAGO Russell ZHAI Yi YANG Zhen Yu WANG Yu Ying SI Xiang WANG Jun GAO Jian Fen CHEN Jing Ron YU Ying Jie ZHAO Wen Hua 2019Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2019,32,9:6
7Discussion on Validity of Rana maoershanensis Based on Partial Sequence of 16S rRNA Gene显示文摘Rana maoershanensis found in Mt.Maoershan in Guangxi,China was reported as a new species in 2007,but there was no molecular data for this frog.The partial sequences(543 bp) of 16S rRNA gene from 12 specimens of 3 brown frog species(Rana hanluica,R.maoershanensis and R.chensinensis) were analyzed with 17 specimens of 9 species from GenBank.The nucleotide sequence divergence between R.maoershanensis and the other brown frog species were 4.5%-6.5%,with 22-30 nucleotide substitutions at this locus.The phylogenetic relationships based on MP,ML,and Bayesian inference indicate that the brown frogs from Southern China were diverged into three groups(Clades A,B and C).R.maoershanensis was clustered together a well-supported subclade(B-1).It is suggested that R.maoershanensis is a valid species.YANG Baotian LU Yuyan LI Pipeng 2010Asian Herpetological Research2010,1,2:5
8Psychometrics of chronic liver disease questionnaire in Chinese chronic hepatitis B patients显示文摘AIM: To evaluate psychometrics of the Chinese (mainland) chronic liver disease questionnaire (CLDQ) in patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB). METHODS: A cross-sectional sample of 460 Chinese patients with CHB was selected from the Outpatient Department of the Eighth Hospital of Xi'an, including CHB (CHB without cirrhosis) (n = 323) and CHB-related cirrhosis (n = 137). The psychometrics includes reliability, validity and sensitivity. Internal consistency reliability was measured using Cronbach's α. Convergent and discriminant validity was evaluated by item-scale correlation. Factorial validity was explored by principal component analysis with varimax rotation. Sensitivity was assessed using Cohen's effect size (ES), and independent sample t test between CHB and CHB-related cirrhosis groups and between alanine aminotransferase (ALT) normal and abnormal groups after stratifying the disease (CHB and CHB-related cirrhosis).RESULTS: Internal consistency reliability of the CLDQ was 0.83 (range: 0.65-0.90). Most of the hypothesized item-scale correlations were 0.40 or over, and all of such hypothesized correlations were higher than the alternative ones, indicating satisfactory convergent and discriminant validity. Six factors were extracted after varimax rotation from the 29 items of CLDQ. The eligible Cohen's ES with statistically significant independent sample t test was found in the overall CLDQ and abdominal, systematic, activity scales (CHB vs CHBrelated cirrhosis), and in the overall CLDQ and abdominal scale in the stratification of patients with CHB (ALT normal vs abnormal). 10Reliability and validity of the Chinese version of CAHS among renal transplant recipients显示文摘Purpose:The purpose of this study was to assess the applicability of the Chinese version of Cognitive Appraisal of Health Scale(CAHS)for renal transplant recipients,and to make a preliminary evaluation of its reliability and validity.Methods:A total of 147 renal transplant recipients who attended a transplant follow-up clinic in a Level 3,Grade A hospital in Beijing were asked to complete the Chinese version of CAHS.Following completion the reliability and validity of the scale were tested.Results:The Cronbach alpha coefficient of Chinese version of CAHS among subscales of threat,harm,challenge and benign-irrelevant were 0.857,0.806,0.680,0.100 respectively;and the test-retest reliability coefficient were 0.791,0.601,0.624,0.470(p<0.01).Spearman correlation was used to test the four subscales'correlation between the item score and the total score,in which threat was 0.598e0.748,challenge was 0.517e0.651,harm was 0.528 e0.735 and benign-irrelevant was 0.507e0.651.These correlations were all statistically significant.The four common factors were extracted using factor analysis.The four factors accounted for 50.356%of the total variance.The SF-36 Physical Component Summary(PCS)and Mental Component Summary(MCS)scores were correlated with each subscale score in CAHS.Threat was weakly correlated to PCS,and was moderately correlated to MCS;harm was moderately correlated to both PCS and MCS;challenge was weakly correlated to both PCS and MCS and benign-irrelevant did not correlate with neither PCS nor MCS.The Chinese version of CAHS has been shown to have good discriminate and convergent validity.Conclusion:The Chinese version of the CAHS was supported to be applicable and to provide measurable performance in renal transplant recipients,thus it can be utilized with renal transplant recipients in China.Shuping Zhang Yabin Shang Xiao Peng Hui Xie Hongxia Liu 2015International Journal of Nursing Sciences2015,2,3:4

The effects of peakness factor and water depth are discussed. In the case of deep water the e-quilibrium range is reduced to the form first proposed by Toba (1973) and the coefficient of the formula is shown to be the function of nondimensional fetch or peak frequency. 12Perioperative chemotherapy for advanced gastric cancer - results from a tertiary-care hospital in Germany显示文摘BACKGROUND Neoadjuvant/perioperative chemotherapy is the recommended treatment for advanced stages of gastric cancer(>T2,N+)before tumour resection in many European guidelines.However,there is no consensus as to whether perioperative chemotherapy is as effective in distal as in proximal tumours,in addition to a relevant uncertainty concerning appropriate treatment modalities for elderly patients.AIM To investigate the role of perioperative chemotherapy in advanced gastric cancer in patients from a German tertiary clinic with respect to efficacy,localisation,and age.METHODS We performed a retrospective analysis of 158 patients from our clinic with adenocarcinoma of the stomach or the gastroesophageal junction who underwent resection between 2008 and 2016.The data were evaluated particularly in relation to patient age,tumour site,and perioperative therapy.RESULTS Administration of perioperative chemotherapy did not lead to a significant survival advantage in our study population.The 5-year survival rates were 40%for patients who received perioperative chemotherapy and 29%for the group without perioperative chemotherapy(P=0.125).Our patients were on average distinctly older than patients in most of the published randomised controlled trials.Patients elder than 75 years received perioperative chemotherapy far less frequently.Patients with a proximal tumour received perioperative chemotherapy much more often.CONCLUSION This analysis reconfirms our previous data concerning the effectiveness of perioperative chemotherapy for advanced gastric cancer.There is reasonable doubt that the quality of the existing randomized controlled trials is sufficient to generally justify perioperative chemotherapy in patients with advanced gastric cancer independent of tumour localization or age.Katrin Bauer Giulia Manzini Doris Henne-Bruns Peter Buechler 2020World Journal of Gastrointestinal Oncology2020,12,5:4

14Validation of neuropathic pain assessment tools among Chinese patients with painful diabetic peripheral neuropathy显示文摘Objective:This study aims to evaluate the reliability and validity of neuropathic pain assessment tools among Chinese patients with painful diabetic peripheral neuropathy(PDPN).Methods:One hundred patients with PDPN and 70 patients with non-neuropathic pain were recruited from five grade III general hospitals in Guangzhou.Pain was assessed using the Leeds Assessment of Neuropathic Symptoms and Signs(LANSS),Douleur Neuropathique 4 questionnaire(DN4),and Brief Pain Inventory for Painful Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy(BPI-DPN).Reliability was evaluated by internal consistency of the Cronbach's a coefficient and Guttman split-half.Construct validity was analyzed by factor analysis and Spearman correlation coefficients.Sensitivity and specificity were also assessed.Results:The Cronbach's a coefficients of the LANSS,DN4,and BPI-DPN were 0.735,0.750,and 0.898,respectively.The Guttman split-half coefficients of the LANSS,DN4,and BPIDPN were 0.660,0.726,and 0.849,respectively.The cumulative contributions of the LANSS,DN4,and BPI-DPN to the total variance were 61.945%,57.010%,and 66.056%,respectively.The items of the LANSS,DN4,and BPI-DPN presented high factorial loads,ranging from 0.387 to 0.841,0.137 to 0.948,and 0.487 to 0.953,respectively.The LANSS and DN4 exhibited sensitivities of 58.0%and 82.7%,respectively,and specificity of 97.1%.Conclusions:The LANSS or DN4 can be used to detect neuropathic pain in Chinese patients with PDPN.The BPI-DPN can be employed to monitor the effectiveness of pain intervention.Jiali Chen Li Li 2016International Journal of Nursing Sciences2016,3,2:4
15Core competence evaluation standards for emergency nurse specialist: Developing and testing psychometric properties显示文摘Introduction:Nurse specialists are being cultivated and trained in China to cope with the international development of nursing discipline.However,an empirical summary and reviews of literature have shown a lack of core competence evaluation standards for emergency nurse specialists(ENSs)in China.ENS training has been conducted in several regions without any effective competence evaluation standards.This paper describes the development and psychometric testing of the Core Competence Evaluation Standards for Emergency Nurse Specialists(CCESENS)in the Chinese context.Methods:Several rigorous research methods were applied.The proposed evaluation process consisted of two phases with seven steps.First,the Core Competence Framework Model for Emergency Nurse Specialist(CCFMENS)was established,and 118 items were generated through a review of literature,theoretical analysis,and expert interviews.Drafts of the dimensions and items were evaluated by two-round Delphi methods.Analysis hierarchy process was used to determine the weight of each dimension.Second,field testing was performed among 138 senior emergency nurses.Internal consistency and correlation analysis were applied to test the reliability and validity of the model.Results:The CCESENS consisted of five first-level dimensions,16 second-level dimensions,and 55 items.Cronbach's a coefficient of overall standards was 0.972,and each dimension ranged from 0.508 to 0.972.Expert content validity index was 0.818,and the correlation coefficients of the five first-level dimensions with the overall standards CCESENS ranged from 0.701 to 0.886(P<0.05).Discussion:The CCESENS demonstrated sound internal consistency reliability,content validity,and construct validity.The proposed standard provides an objective standard and reference for assessing,training,and evaluating core competence of ENS.Luo Fan Li Gui Shuhua Xi Anhua Qiao 2016International Journal of Nursing Sciences2016,3,3:3

17Crypto-Giardia antigen rapid test versus conventional modified Ziehl-Neelsen acid fast staining method for diagnosis of cryptosporidiosis显示文摘Objectove:To evaluate the validity of Crypto-Giardia antigen rapid test(CA-RT) in comparison with the conventional mollified Ziehl-Neelsen acid fast(MZN-AF) staining method for the diagnosis of cryptosporidiosis.Methods:Fifteen preserved stool samples from previously confirmed infections were used as positive controls and 40 stool samples from healthy people were used as negative control.A total of 85 stool samples were collected from suspected patients with cryptosporidiosis over 6 months during the period from January till June.2011.The stud) was conducted in the department of parasitology,central laboratory.Alnoor Specialist Hospital, Makkah.Saudi Arabia.All samples were subjected to CA-RT and conventional MZN-AF staining method.Validation parameters including sensitivity(SN).specificity(SP),accuracy index (AI).positive predictive value(PPV).and negative predictive value(NPV) were evaluated for both tests.Results:Out of 15[lositive controls,CA-RT detected 13(86.7%) while MZN-AF detected 11(73.3%) positive cases.However.CA-RT detected no positive case in 40 normal controls but MZN-AF detected 2(5%) as positive cases.Based on the results,the SN.SP.AI.PPV and NPV were high in CA-RT than MZN-AF staining method,ie..86.7%vs.73.3%.100%vs.95%.96.4%vs.89.1%. 100%vs.84.6%and 95.2%vs.90.5%.respectively.Out of a total of 85 suspected specimens.CART detected 7(8.2%) but MZN-AF detected 6(7.1%) cases as positive.Conclusions:CA-RT immunoassay is more valid and reliable than MZN-AF staining method.Dina Abdulla Muhammad Zaglool Amr Mohamed Yousif Abdul Wahid Khodari Mian Usman Farooq 2013Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2013,6,3:3
18Effect of a triage course on quality of rating triage codes in a group of university nursing students:a before-after observational study显示文摘BACKGROUND:Most current triage tools have been tested among hospital nurses groups but there are not similar studies in university setting.In this study we analyzed if a course on a new fourlevel triage model,triage emergency method(TEM),could improve the quality of rating in a group of nursing students.METHODS:This observational study was conducted with paper scenarios at the University of Parma,Italy.Fifty students were assigned a triage level to 105 paper scenarios before and after a course on triage and TEM.We used weighted kappa statistics to measure the inter-rater reliability of TEM and assessed its validity by comparing the students' predictions with the triage code rating of a reference standard(a panel of five experts in the new triage method).RESULTS:Inter-rater reliability was K=0.42(95%Cl:0.37-0.46) before the course on TEM,and K=0.61(95%CI:0.56-0.67) after.The accuracy of students' triage rating for the reference standard triage code was good:81%(95%Cl:71-90).After the TEM course,the proportion of cases assigned to each acuity triage level was similar for the student group and the panel of experts.CONCLUSION:Among the group of nursing students,a brief course on triage and on a new inhospital triage method seems to improve the quality of rating codes.The new triage method shows good inter-rater reliability for rating triage acuity and good accuracy in predicting the triage code rating of the reference standard.Nicola Parenti Maria Letizia Bacchi Reggiani Diego Sangiorgi Vito Serventi Leopoldo Sarli 2013World Journal of Emergency Medicine2013,4,1:3
19Choosing the right animal model for infectious disease research显示文摘A complex biological system is often required to study the myriad of host-pathogen interactions associated with infectious diseases, especially since the current basis of biology has reached the molecular level. The use of animal models is important for understanding the very complex temporal relationships that occur in infectious disease involving the body, its neuroendocrine and immune systems and the infectious organism. Because of these complex interactions, the choice of animal model must be a thoughtful and clearly defined process in order to provide relevant, translatable scientific data and to ensure the most beneficial use of the animals. While many animals respond similarly to humans from physiological, pathological, and therapeutic perspectives, there are also significant species-by-species differences. A welldesigned animal model requires a thorough understanding of similarities and differences in the responses between humans and animals and incorporates that knowledge into the goals of the study. Determining the intrinsic and extrinsic factors associated with the disease and creating a biological information matrix to compare the animal model and human disease courses is a useful tool to help choose the appropriate animal model. 20The Comprehensive Retrieval Method of Electromagnetic Parameters Using the Scattering Parameters of Metamaterials for Two Choices of Time-Dependent Factors显示文摘The electromagnetic parameters (permittivity and permeability) method,retrieved from the reflection and transmission coefficients of a slab,is presented.Improvements over existing methods,including the determination of the permittivity,permeability and impedance of the slab,are expressed as explicit functions of the S parameters for both the time-dependent factors,e^(iwt) and e^(-iwt) (ω is the angular frequency of the incident electromagnetic wave),and the proper selection of the sign of impedance and the real part of the refractive index.Moreover,based on the retrieving method,the calculations of the electromagnetic parameters of the conventional-material teflon slab standard sample through the experimental data of the S parameters are performed,which confirm the validity of the technique for the retrieval of electromagnetic parameters.侯志灵 孔令宝 金海波 曹茂盛 李笑 祁欣 2012Chinese Physics Letters2012,29,1:2
