Artificial intelligence in gastrointestinal endoscopy:The future is almost here显示文摘Artificial intelligence(AI) enables machines to provide unparalleled value in a myriad of industries and applications. In recent years, researchers have harnessed artificial intelligence to analyze large-volume, unstructured medical data and perform clinical tasks, such as the identification of diabetic retinopathy or the diagnosis of cutaneous malignancies. Applications of artificial intelligence techniques, specifically machine learning and more recently deep learning, are beginning to emerge in gastrointestinal endoscopy. The most promising of these efforts have been in computeraided detection and computer-aided diagnosis of colorectal polyps, with recent systems demonstrating high sensitivity and accuracy even when compared to expert human endoscopists. AI has also been utilized to identify gastrointestinal bleeding, to detect areas of inflammation, and even to diagnose certain gastrointestinal infections. Future work in the field should concentrate on creating seamless integration of AI systems with current endoscopy platforms and electronic medical records, developing training modules to teach clinicians how to use AI tools, and determining the best means for regulation and approval of new AI technology.Muthuraman Alagappan Jeremy R Glissen Brown Yuichi Mori Tyler M Berzin 2018World Journal of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy2018,10,10:14
Management of gastroesophageal reflux disease: Patient and physician communication challenges and shared decision making显示文摘Gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD) is a common upper esophageal condition and typical symptoms can include heartburn and sensation of regurgitation while atypical symptoms include chronic cough, asthma, hoarseness, dyspepsia and nausea. Typically, diag-nosis is presumptive given the presence of typical and atypical symptoms and is an indication for empiric therapy. Treatment management can include lifestyle modifications and/or medication therapy with proton pump inhibitor(PPI) class being the preferred and most effective. Complete symptom resolution is not always achieved and long-term PPI therapy can put patients at risk for serious side effects and needless expense. The brain-gut connection and hypervigilance plays an important role in symptom resolution and treatment success, especially in the case of non-PPI responders. Hypervigilance is a combination of increased esophageal sensory sensitivity in combination with exaggerated threat perception surrounding esophageal symptoms. Hypervigilance requires a different approach to GERD managements, where continued PPI therapy and surgery are usually not recommended. Rather, helping physicians and patients understand the brain-gut connection can guide and improve care.Education and reassurance should be the main pillars or treatment. However, it is important not to suggest the symptoms are due to anxiety alone, this often leads to patient dissatisfaction. Patient dissatisfaction with treatment reveals the need for a more patient-centered approach to GERD management and better communication between patients and providers. Shared decision making(SDM) with the incorporation of patient-reported outcomes(PRO) promotes patient adherence and satisfaction. SDM is a joint discussion between clinician and patient in which a mutually shared solution is explored for GERD symptoms. For SDM to work the physician needs to capture patients' perceptions which may not be obtained in the standard interview. This can be done through the use of PROs which promote a dialogue with patients about their symptoms and treatment priorities in the context of the SDM patient encounter. SDM could potentially help in the management of patient expectations for GERD treatment, ultimately positively impacting their health-related quality of life.Scott Klenzak Igor Danelisen Grace D Brannan Melissa A Holland Miranda AL van Tilburg 2018World Journal of Clinical Cases2018,6,15:10

An Emergency Decision Making Method Based on Prospect Theory for Different Emergency Situations显示文摘Emergency decision making(EDM) is an effective way to deal with emergency situations because of its prominent role in alleviating the losses of properties and lives caused by emergency events. It has drawn increasing attention from both governments and academia, and become an important research topic in recent years. Studies show that decision makers are usually guided by bounded rationality under risk and uncertainty conditions. Their psychological behavior plays an important role in the decision making process, and EDM problems are usually characterized by high risk and uncertainty. Thus, decision makers' psychological behavior has been considered in existing EDM approaches based on prospect theory. An emergency event might evolve into different situations due to its dynamic evolution, which is one of the distinctive features of emergency events. This important issue has been discussed in existing EDM approaches, in which different emergency situations are dealt with by devising different solutions. However, existing EDM approaches do not consider decision makers' psychological behavior together with the different emergency situations and the different solutions. Motivated by such limitation, this study proposed a novel approach based on prospect theory considering emergency situations, which considers not only decision makers' psychological behavior, but also different emergency situations in the EDM process. Two examples and related comparison are provided to illustrate the feasibility and validity of this approach.Zi-Xin Zhang Liang Wang Ying-Ming Wang 2018International Journal of Disaster Risk Science2018,9,3:7
Research progress on Drosophila visual cognition in China显示文摘Visual cognition,as one of the fundamental aspects of cognitive neuroscience,is generally associated with high-order brain functions in animals and human.Drosophila,as a model organism, shares certain features of visual cognition in common with mammals at the genetic, molecular, cellular, and even higher behavioral levels. From learning and memory to decision making,Drosophila covers a broad spectrum of higher cognitive behaviors beyond what we had expected.Armed with powerful tools of genetic manipulation in Drosophila,an increasing number of studies have been conducted in order to elucidate the neural circuit mechanisms underlying these cognitive behaviors from a genes-brain-behavior perspective. The goal of this review is to integrate the most important studies on visual cognition in Drosophila carried out in China's Mainland during the last decade into a body of knowledge encompassing both the basic neural operations and circuitry of higher brain function in Drosophila. Here,we consider a series of the higher cognitive behaviors beyond learning and memory, such as visual pattern recognition, feature and context generalization, different feature memory traces,salience-based decision,attention-like behavior, and cross-modal leaning and memory. We discuss the possible general gain-gating mechanism implementing by dopamine-mushroom body circuit in fly's visual cognition. We hope that our brief review on this aspect will inspire further study on visual cognition in flies,or even beyond.GUO AiKe1,2,ZHANG Ke1,PENG YueQin1 & XI Wang1 1 Institute of Neuroscience,State Key Laboratory of Neuroscience,Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences,Chinese Academy of Sciences,Shanghai 200031,China 2 State Key Laboratory of Brain and Cognitive Science,Institute of Biophysics,Chinese Academy of Sciences,Beijing 100101,China 2010Science China(Life Sciences)2010,53,3:6

Two Methods for Deriving Members′Weights in Group Decision Making显示文摘The Analytic Hierarchy Process is a powerful technique for group decision making. Both the Weighted Arithmetic Mean Method(WAMM) and Weighted Geometric Mean Method(WGMM) are the most common group preference aggregation methods in AHP. In order to use the WAMM and WGMM, one has to find the weights to be assigned to the members of the group. This is often a difficult task, especially so if the group is large as in the case of public policy decisions. These situations need an objective method to derive members′weights. But a few studies are available in the literature. Based on judgement matrices and error analyses, this paper presents two practical and efficient methods for addressing such situations. Some numerical examples are also given.XU Ze\|shui PLA University of Science and Technology Nanjing, Jiangsu 210016, China 2001Journal of Systems Science and Systems Engineering2001,13,1:4

Toward the Fourth Industrial Revolution on Real-Time Customization显示文摘The outputs of a national economy can be partitioned into three sets of products:tangible goods(due to manufacturing, construction, extraction and agriculture),intangible services(due to an act of useful effort),and an integration of services and goods or,as initially defined by Tien(2012),servgoods.Actually,these products can also be considered in terms of their relation to the first three Industrial Revolutions:the First Industrial Revolution(circa 1800)was primarily focused on the production of goods;the Second Industrial Revolution(circa 1900)was primarily focused on the mass production of goods;and the Third Industrial Revolution(circa 2000)has been primarily focused on the mass customization of goods, services or servgoods. In this follow-up paper, the Third Industrial Revolution of mass customization continues to accelerate in its evolution and,in many respects,is subsuming the earlier Industrial Revolutions of production and mass production.More importantly, with the advent of real-time decision making, artificial intelligence,Internet of Things, mobile networks, and other advanced digital technologies, customization has been extensively enabled, thereby advancing mass customization into a Fourth Industrial Revolution of real-time customization. Moreover, the moral, ethical, security and employment problems associated with both mass and real-time customization must be carefully assessed and mitigated, especially in regard to unintended consequences.Looking ahead and with the advance of artificial general intelligence, this Fourth Industrial Revolution could be forthcoming in about the middle of the 21st Century;it would allow for multiple activities to be simultaneously tackled in real-time and in a customized manner.James M.Tien 2020Journal of Systems Science and Systems Engineering2020,29,2:4
Preferences and attitudes of young Chinese clinicians about using a shared decision making tools for communicating cardiovascular risk显示文摘Objective: This study assesses the attitudes and preferences of Chinese clinicians toward their involvement in shared decision making (SDM). Methods: From May 2014 to May 2015, 200 Chinese clinicians from two hospitals were enrolled to complete a survey on their attitude towards SDM. We conducted the survey via face-to-face interviews before and after an educational intervention on SDM among young Chinese clinicians. The clinicians were asked to give the extent of agreement to SDM. They also gave the extent of difficulty in using decision aids (DAs) during the SDM process. The variation in the range of responses to each question before and after the SDM intervention was recorded. The frequency of changed responses was analyzed by using JMP 6.0 software. Data were statistically analyzed using Chi-square and Mann—Whitney U tests, as appropriate to the data type. Multiple logistic regressions were used to test for those factors significantly and independently associated with preference for an approach for each scenario. Results: Of the 200 young Chinese clinicians sampled, 59.0% indicated a preference for SDM and a desire to participate in SDM before receiving education or seeing the DA, and this number increased to 69.0% after seeing the DA with the sample video of the SDM process on Statin Choice. However, 28.5% of the respondents still reported that, in their current practice, they make clinical decisions on behalf of their patients. The clinicians who denied a desire to use the DA stated that the main barriers to implement SDM or DA use in China are lack of time and knowledge of SDM.Rong-Chong Huang Xian-Tao Song Dong-Feng Zhang Jia-Ying Xu Kasey R. 15Multi-Criteria Decision Making Based on Correlation Coefficient of Triangular Intuitionistic Fuzzy Numbers显示文摘We study a multi-criteria fuzzy decision-making method based on weighted triangular intuitionistic fuzzy number correlation coefficients. Under the scenario that criteria weights for alternatives are completely unknown, triangular intuitionistic fuzzy method can not only supplement the insufficiency of the method based on the distance but also endow more information to the estimation and reduce the loss of evaluation information.Among the triangular numbers, two boundary numbers are the maximum and minimum values of the interval respectively, and the medium number is the most possible value under subjective estimation. Using this method,we propose a new way to obtain the criteria weights with more information quantity. By ranking the relative closeness of the weighted correlation coefficients between each alternative, and the critical and ideal alternatives,we show the method to figure out the most suitable alternative based on the expected criteria. An illustrative example is also taken into account to prove the effectiveness of the model.吴迪 闫相斌 彭锐 马晓洋 2019Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong university(Science)2019,24,4:3
Evaluation and Ranking DMUs in the Presence of Both Undesirable and Ordinal Factors in Data Envelopment Analysis显示文摘In the last decade, ranking units in data envelopment analysis(DEA) has become the interests of many DEA researchers and a variety of models were developed to rank units with multiple inputs and multiple outputs. These performance factors(inputs and outputs) are classified into two groups:desirable and undesirable.Obviously, undesirable factors in production process should be reduced to improve the performance. Also, some of these data may be known only in terms of ordinal relations. While the models developed in the past are interesting and meaningful, they didn t consider both undesirable and ordinal factors at the same time.In this research,we develop an evaluating model and a ranking model to overcome some deficiencies in the earlier models. This paper incorporates undesirable and ordinal data in DEA and discusses the efficiency evaluation and ranking of decision making units(DMUs) with undesirable and ordinal data. For this purpose,we transform the ordinal data into definite data, and then we consider each undesirable input and output as desirable output and input, respectively. Finally,an application that shows the capability of the proposed method is illustrated.Zahra Aliakbarpoor Mohammad Izadikhah 2012International Journal of Automation and computing2012,9,6:3
Solution to multiple attribute group decision making problems with two decision makers显示文摘A kind of multiple attribute group decision making(MAGDM) problem is discussed from the perspective of statistic decision-making. Firstly, on the basis of the stability theory, a new idea is proposed to solve this kind of problem. Secondly, a concrete method corresponding to this kind of problem is proposed. The main tool of our research is the technique of the jackknife method. The main advantage of the new method is that it can identify and determine the reliability degree of the existed decision making information. Finally, a traffic engineering example is given to show the effectiveness of the new method.Fangwei Zhang Wei Wang Xuedong Hua 2015Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2015,26,2:2
A decision support system for satellite layout integrating multi-objective optimization and multi-attribute decision making显示文摘A decision support system, including a multi-objective optimization framework and a multi-attribute decision making approach is proposed for satellite equipment layout. Firstly, given three objectives (to minimize the C.G. offset, the cross moments of inertia and the space debris impact risk), we develop a threedimensional layout optimization model. Unlike most of the previous works just focusing on mass characteristics of the system, a space debris impact risk index is developed. Secondly, we develop an efficient optimization framework for the integration of computer-aided design (CAD) software as well as the optimization algorithm to obtain the Pareto front of the layout optimization problem. Thirdly, after obtaining the candidate solutions, we present a multi-attribute decision making approach, which integrates the smart Pareto filter and the correlation coefficient and standard deviation (CCSD) method to select the best tradeoff solutions on the optimal Pareto fronts. Finally, the framework and the decision making approach are applied to a case study of a satellite platform.LIANG Yan’gang QIN Zheng 2019Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2019,30,3:2
Modeling and applying credible interval intuitionistic fuzzy reciprocal preference relations in group decision making显示文摘Intuitionistic fuzzy preference relations are powerful techniques used to express uncertain preference information. However, simultaneously providing the exact priority and nonpriority intensities could be difficult in real applications. A credible interval intuitionistic fuzzy number(CIIFN) is introduced and a credible interval intuitionistic fuzzy reciprocal preference relation(CIIFRPR) is developed to solve this issue. Unlike intuitionistic fuzzy preference relations, the new preference relations use the CIIFNs to express the preference information such that the decision makers simply provide the priority intensity with intervalvalued numbers and calculate the non-preference intensity with the transformed method, which avoids a complex evaluation of non-priority information. Furthermore, some basic operations and comparison laws are investigated, based on which three credible interval intuitionistic fuzzy aggregation operators are proposed. Two models are presented to manage the group decision-making.Finally, a practical case is used to demonstrate the feasibility and reasonability of the proposed preference relations and aggregation operators.Wei Zhou Zeshui Xu 2017Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2017,28,2:2
A Method of Job Scheduling on SMEs' Key Equipments Based on Hybrid Multi-attribute Decision Making显示文摘An analysis of the key factors affecting on the single production process job scheduling of the parts waiting for be- ing processed on the key equipments for SMEs (Small Manufacturing Enterprises) is given in this paper, which include interval number, real number and uncertain linguistic value.A kind of hybrid multi-attribute decision making method for the single pro- duction process job scheduling is presented in this paper, that the parts are firstly sorted about each factor, and then the total evalu- ative attributive value of each part is calculated with the method of weighted arithmetic average, and thus the part with the highest total evaluative attributive value is chosen for being processed firstly. The mathematic model corresponding to the method is set up in this paper. An example is studied in this paper, and the results of the example testify the correctness of this model.LIU Dianting~(1,2) ZHOU Dejian~2 1.School of Mechano-Electronic Engineering,Xidian University,Xi’an 710071,China 2.Guilin University of Technology,Guilin 541004 ,China 2006武汉理工大学学报2006,28,S2:2
