| 1 | Zircon U-Pb dating confirms existence of a Caledonian scheelite-bearing aplitic vein in the Penggongmiao granite batholith, South Hunan显示文摘Granite at Penggongmiao is a large batholith in the Nanling Range, with an outcrop area of over 900 km 2 . There are many scheelite-quartz veins around the granite. LA-ICP-MS U-Pb dating was carried out for zircons from the granite. The middlecoarse-grained biotite granite has U-Pb ages of 435 to 436 Ma. Ages of 426.5±2.5 Ma were obtained for aplitic dyke cross-cutting the granite. The scheelite of magmatic origin in the aplite dyke was identified from petrographic investigation. This demonstrates that W-bearing granites of Early Paleozoic (corresponding to the Caledonian orogensis in the traditional sense) occur in the Nanling Range. This finding has important implications for the ore-forming potential of Paleozoic granites and on the extent of Mesozoic mineralization. Thus it merits performing an intensive study of Paleozoic granites in South China. | 3 | Modeling of acute cadmium toxicity in solution to barley root elongation using biotic ligand model theory显示文摘Protons(H^+)as well as different major and trace elements may inhibit cadmium(Cd)uptake in aquatic organisms and thus alleviate Cd toxicity.However,little is known about such interactions in soil organisms.In this study,the independent effects of the cations calcium(Ca^(2+)),magnesium(Mg^(2+)),potassium(K^+),H+and zinc(Zn^(2+))on Cd toxicity were investigated with 5-day long barley root elongation tests in nutrient solutions.The tested concentrations of selected cations and trace metal ions were based on the ranges that occur naturally in soil pore water.The toxicity of Cd decreased with increasing activity of Ca^(2+),Mg^(2+),H^+and Zn^(2+),but not K^+.Accordingly,conditional binding constants were obtained for the binding of Cd^(2+),Ca^(2+),Mg^(2+),H^+,and Zn^(2+) with the binding ligand:log K_(CdBL)5.19,logK_(CaBL)2.87,logK_(MgBL)2.98,logK_(HBL)5.13 and logK_(ZnBL)5.42,respectively.Furthermore,it was calculated that on average 29% of the biotic ligand sites needed to be occupied by Cd to induce a 50% decrease in root elongation.Using the estimated constants,a biotic ligand model was successfully developed to predict the Cd toxicity to barley root elongation as a function of solution characteristics.The feasibility and accuracy of its application for predicting Cd toxicity in soils were discussed. | Xuedong Wang Mingyan Wu Jingxing Ma Xiaolin Chen Luo Hua | 2016 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2016,28,4: | 6 |

Firstly, on the basis of the stability theory, a new idea is proposed to solve this kind of problem. Secondly, a concrete method corresponding to this kind of problem is proposed.The main tool of our research is the technique of the jackknife method. The main advantage of the new method is that it can identify and determine the reliability degree of the existed decision making information. | 8 | Venous thromboembolism in children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in China:a report from the Chinese Children’s Cancer Group-ALL-2015显示文摘Venous thromboembolism(VTE)is a complication in children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia(ALL).The Chinese Children’s Cancer Group-ALL-2015 protocol was carried out in China,and epidemiology,clinical characteristics,and risk factors associated with VTE were analyzed.We collected data on VTE in a multiinstitutional clinical study of 7640 patients with ALL diagnosed in 20 hospitals from January 2015 to December 2019.First,VTE occurred in 159(2.08%)patients,including 90(56.6%)during induction therapy and 108(67.92%)in the upper extremities.T-ALL had a 1.74-fold increased risk of VTE(95%CI 1.08–2.8,P=0.022).Septicemia,as an adverse event of ALL treatment,can significantly promote the occurrence of VTE(P<0.001).Catheter-related thrombosis(CRT)accounted for 75.47%(n=120);and,symptomatic VTE,58.49%(n=93),which was more common in patients aged 12–18 years(P=0.023),non-CRT patients(P<0.001),or patients with cerebral thrombosis(P<0.001).Of the patients with VTE treated with anticoagulation therapy(n=147),4.08%(n=6)had bleeding.The VTE recurrence rate was 5.03%(n=8).Patients with VTE treated by non-ultrasoundguided venous cannulation(P=0.02),with residual thrombus(P=0.006),or with short anticoagulation period(P=0.026)had high recurrence rates.Thus,preventing repeated venous puncture and appropriately prolonged anticoagulation time can reduce the risk of VTE recurrence. | Mengmeng Yin Hongsheng Wang Xianmin Guan Ju Gao Minghua Yang Ningling Wang Tianfeng Liu Jingyan Tang Alex WK Leung Fen Zhou Xuedong Wu Jie Huang Hong Li Shaoyan Hu Xin Tian Hua Jiang Jiaoyang Cai Xiaowen Zhai Shuhong Shen Qun Hu | 2023 | Frontiers of Medicine2023,17,3: | 0 |
