1Antitumor Activity of Diallyl Sulfide in Two-StageMouse Skin Model of Carcinogenesis显示文摘It has been reported that diallyl sulfide (DAS), a sulfur-containing volatile compound in garlic (Allium sativum ), exerts anticarcinogenic activity in various rodent tumor models. In the present study, the antitumor property of DAS was tested in Swiss albino mice in the two steqe initiation-promotion mouse skin carcinogenesis. Skin cancers were initiated topically with a single subcarcinOgenic dose (52μg) of 7, 12-dimethyl benz (a) anthracene (DMBA). Promotion was performed by twice weekly applications of 12-O-tetradecanoyl phorbol-13-acetate (TPA) at a dose of 5μg/animal for 32 weeks. DAS was applied topically (250μg/animal) thrice weekly for 3 weeks for anti-initiating and 1 h prior to each promotion treatment for anti-promoting studies. The results showed that the treatment schedule of DAS can effectively delay the onset of tumorigenesis and reduce the cumulative number of tumors and the average number of tumors per mouse. In groups in which DAS applied prior to initiation or promotion, a significant population of the aniinals remained tumor-free till the termination of experiment. 3Quantum chemical analysis for the formation of glycine in the interstellar medium显示文摘Glycine (C2H5NO2) was the first amino acid to be detected in space by the stardust space probe in Comet Wild2, and is used by living organisms to make proteins. We discuss three different reaction paths for the formation of glycine in interstellar space from some simpler molecules detected in the interstellar medium. The possibility of the formation of glycine in interstellar space is considered by radical-radical and radical-molecule interaction schemes using quantum chemical calculations with density functional theory at the B3LYP/6-31G (d,p) level. 12Inhibition of Carcinogen-induced Activity of γ-Glutamyl Transpeptidase by Certain Dietary Constituents in Mouse Skin显示文摘Cancer chemoprevention, a desirable and important facet of biomedical research, Provides a practical approach to identify potentially useful inhibitors of cancer development, and offers an opportunity to study the mechanism of carcinogenesis. During the recent past a nuInber of compounds have been tested for their anticarcinogenic potential specially constituents of human diet. The enzyme y-glutamyl transpeptidase (CGT), which catalyses the transfer of glutamyl gnups of peptides to other peptides and amino acids, has been proposed as a marker of cell proliferation and neoplasia. It also serves as a tool to evaluate the carcinogenic and cocareinogenic poential of environmental toxicants. In the present investigations, GGT activity induced by carcinogenic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, viz. 7, 12-dimethyl-benz(a) anthracene (DMBA) and benzo(a)Pyrene (BaP was significantly inhibited by diallylsulfide (DAS) and indole-3-carbinol (13C) in mouse skin. DAS and 13C are Constituents of garlic. A significant inhibition in GGT levels was also observed in a strong mitogen (12-o-tetradecanoyl phorbol-13-acelate) induced activity by pretreatment of DAS/13C in mouse skin. 13Grid Tied Solar PV System with Power Quality Enhancement Using Adaptive Generalized Maximum Versoria Criterion显示文摘A three phase grid tied solar photovoltaic(PV)system with power quality compensation features is presented in this paper.This system is used to transfer power generated from a solar PV array to feed linear and nonlinear loads along with compensation for several power quality(PQ)issues,such as harmonics,redundant reactive power and load unbalancing.The generated DC power from the PV array is converted into AC by implementing a three-phase voltage source converter(VSC).In order to transfer active power and mitigate PQ problems,an efficient control technique is required for the grid tied solar PV system.This study presents the use of an adaptive generalized maximum Versoria criterion(AGMVC)controller for VSC used in a solar PV energy conversion system.Efficient utilization of the solar PV array is accomplished by using the Perturb and Observe based maximum power point tracking(MPPT)algorithm.The experimental setup of the grid integrated PV system is implemented in the laboratory using an IGBT based VSC and DSP(dSPACE DS-1202).The performance of the AGMVC control technique is verified experimentally using laboratory prototype.This control technique is compared with different conventional controllers,such as synchronous reference frame theory(SRFT)and instantaneous reactive power theory(IRPT)along with recently developed weight-based controllers viz.,least mean square(LMS),least mean mixed norm(LMMN)and normalized kernel least mean fourth-neural network(NKLMFNN).Numerous terms,such as fundamental weight convergence,steady state error,computational complexity,phase lock loop(PLL)requirement and harmonic compensation capability,are considered for comparison purposes of AGMVC with the above listed control techniques.The system performance is verified according to the IEEE-519 standard.Manoj Badoni Alka Singh Ankit Kumar Singh Hemant Saxena Rajeev Kumar 2023CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2023,9,2:0
14Formation of cyanoallene(buta-2, 3-dienenitrile) in the interstellar medium: a quantum chemical and spectroscopic study显示文摘The interstellar medium,filling the vast space between stars,is a rich reservoir of molecular material ranging from simple diatomic molecules to more complex,astrobiologically important molecules such as vinylcyanide,methylcyanodiaccetylene,cyanoallene,etc.Interstellar molecular cyanoallene is one of the most stable isomers of methylcynoacetylene.An attempt has been made to explore the possibility of forming cyanoallene in interstellar space by radical-radical and radical-molecule interaction schemes in the gaseous phase.The formation of cyanoallene starting from some simple,neutral interstellar molecules and radicals has been studied using density functional theory.The reaction energies and structures of the reactants and products show that the formation of cyanoallene is possible in the gaseous phase.Both of the considered reaction paths are totally exothermic and barrierless,thus giving rise to a high probability of occurrence.Rate constants for each step in the formation process of cyanoallene in both the reaction paths are estimated.A full vibrational analysis has been attempted for cyanoallene in the harmonic and anharmonic approximations.Anharmonic spectroscopic parameters such as rotational constants,rotation-vibration coupling constants and centrifugal distortion constants have been calculated.Amresh Singh Shivani Alka Misra Poonam Tandon 2014Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics2014,14,3:0
