| 1 | Chlorogenic acid loaded chitosan nanoparticles with sustained release property,retained antioxidant activity and enhanced bioavailability显示文摘In this study,chlorogenic acid(CGA),a phenolic compound widely distributed in fruits and vegetables,was encapsulated into chitosan nanoparticles by ionic gelation method.The particles exhibited the size and zeta potential of 210 nm and 33 mV respectively.A regular,spherical shaped distribution of nanoparticles was observed through scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and the success of entrapment was confirmed by FTIR analysis.The encapsulation efficiency of CGA was at about 59%with the loading efficiency of 5.2%.In vitro ABTS assay indicated that the radical scavenging activity of CAG was retained in the nanostructure and further,the release kinetics study revealed the burst release of 69%CGA from nanoparticles at the end of 100th hours.Pharmacokinetic analysis in rats showed a lower level of Cmax,longer Tmax,longer MRT,larger AUC0et and AUC0e∞for the CGA nanoparticles compared to free CGA.Collectively,these results suggest that the synthesised nanoparticle with sustained release property can therefore ease the fortification of food-matrices targeted for health benefits through effective delivery of CGA in body. | Ilaiyaraja Nallamuthu Aishwarya Devi Farhath Khanum | 2015 | Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences2015，10，3： | 7 |
| 2 | Disturbance Observer Based Speed Control of PMSM Using Fractional Order PI Controller显示文摘In this paper, fractional order PI(FOPI) control is developed for speed control of permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM). Designing the parameters for FOPI controller is a challenging task, especially for nonlinear systems like PMSM.All three PI controllers in the conventional vector controlled speed drive are replaced by FOPI controllers. Design of these FOPI controllers is based on the locally linearized model of PMSM around an operating point. This operating point changes with the load torque. The novelty of the work reported here is in use of Non Linear Disturbance Observer(NLDO) to estimate load torque to obtain this new operating point. All three FOPI controllers are then designed adaptively using this new operating point. | 4 | Superior safety of direct oral anticoagulants compared to Warfarin in patients with atrial fibrillation and underlying cancer: a national veterans affairs database study显示文摘Background Studies evaluating safety of warfarin and direct oral anticoagulants(DOACs) for prevention of stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation(AF) are lacking. Methods & Results All patients(n = 196,521) receiving care at veteran’s affairs with active cancer and AF from 2010–2015 were included. One-year mortality was significantly higher in unadjusted analysis with warfarin(44.9%) compared to dabigatran(25%, P < 0.001), rivaroxaban(24.4%, P < 0.001) and apixaban(30%, P < 0.001) and after adjusting for age, sex and type of cancer mortality(OR = 2.66, 95% CI: 2.52–2.82, P < 0.001). Risk of ischemic stroke(13.5% vs. 11.1%, 12.0%, 14.0%) was similar, however risk of hemorrhagic stroke was significantly higher among patients receiving warfarin(1.2%) compared to patients receiving dabigatran(0.5%), rivaroxaban(0.7%) and apixaban(0.8%) respectively, P = 0.04. Conclusions We demonstrated the superior safety profile of DOACs compared to warfarin among patients with underlying cancer and AF. | 5 | Prospects for discriminating Zingiberaceae species in India using DNA barcodes显示文摘We evaluated nine plastid(matK, rbcL, rpoC1, rpoB,rpl36-rps8, ndhJ, trnL-F, trnH-psbA, accD) and two nuclear(ITS and ITS2) barcode loci in family Zingiberaceae by analyzing 60 accessions of 20 species belonging to seven genera from India.Bidirectional sequences were recovered for every plastid locus by direct sequencing of polymerase chain reaction(PCR)amplicons in all the accessions tested. However, only 35(58%)and 40 accessions(66%) yielded ITS and ITS2 sequences,respectively, by direct sequencing. In different bioinformatics analyses, matK and rbcL consistently resolved 15 species(75%)into monophyletic groups and five species into two paraphyletic groups. The 173 ITS sequences, including 138 cloned sequences from 23 accessions, discriminated only 12 species(60%), and the remaining species were entered into three paraphyletic groups. Phylogenetic and genealogic analyses of plastid and ITS sequences imply the possible occurrence of natural hybridizations in the evolutionary past in giving rise to species paraphyly and intragenomic ITS heterogeneity in the species tested. | 19 | Measurements of atmospheric turbulence parameters at Vainu Bappu Observatory using short-exposure CCD images显示文摘We report atmospheric turbulence parameters, namely atmospheric seeing, tilt-anisoplanatic angle(θ_0) and coherence time(Τ_0), measured under various sky conditions, at Vainu Bappu Observatory in Kavalur. Bursts of short exposure images of selected stars were recorded with a high-speed, frame-transfer CCD mounted on the Cassegrain focus of a newly commissioned 1.3 m telescope. The estimated median seeing is ≈ 1.85 ' at wavelength of ~ 600 nm, the image motion correlation between different pairs of stars is ~44% for θ0≈ 36' and mean Τ_0 is ≈ 2.4 ms.
