1Targeted therapy in chronic diseases using nanomaterial-based drug delivery vehicles显示文摘The application of nanomedicines is increasing rapidly with the promise of targeted and efficient drug delivery.Nanomedicines address the shortcomings of conventional therapy,as evidenced by several preclinical and clinical investigations indicating site-specific drug delivery,reduced side effects,and better treatment outcome.The development of suitable and biocompatible drug delivery vehicles is a prerequisite that has been successfully achieved by using simple and functionalized liposomes,nanoparticles,hydrogels,micelles,dendrimers,and mesoporous particles.A variety of drug delivery vehicles have been established for the targeted and controlled delivery of therapeutic agents in a wide range of chronic diseases,such as diabetes,cancer,atherosclerosis,myocardial ischemia,asthma,pulmonary tuberculosis,Parkinson’s disease,and Alzheimer’s disease.After successful outcomes in preclinical and clinical trials,many of these drugs have been marketed for human use,such as Abraxane®,Caelyx®,Mepact®,Myocet®,Emend®,and Rapamune®.Apart from drugs/compounds,novel therapeutic agents,such as peptides,nucleic acids(DNA and RNA),and genes have also shown potential to be used as nanomedicines for the treatment of several chronic ailments.However,a large number of extensive clinical trials are still needed to ensure the short-term and long-term effects of nanomedicines in humans.This review discusses the advantages of various drug delivery vehicles for better understanding of their utility in terms of current medical needs.Furthermore,the application of a wide range of nanomedicines is also described in the context of major chronic diseases.Akhand Pratap Singh Arpan Biswas Aparna Shukla Pralay Maiti 2019Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2019,4,1:6
2Comparative assessment of total polyphenols, antioxidant and antimicrobial activity of different tea varieties of Bangladesh显示文摘Objective: To determine the total polyphenol content, antioxidant activity and antibacterial properties of the extracts of different Bangladeshi tea varieties such as flowery broken orange pekoe, broken orange pekoe, red dust and green tea.Methods: Total phenolic and flavonoid contents were determined by Folin–Ciocalteu and aluminum chloride colorimetric assay, respectively.The antioxidant capacity was determined by ferric ion reducing antioxidant power and phosphomolybdenum method.Antibacterial activity was evaluated by disc diffusion method in agar plate and subsequently, the minimum inhibitory concentration was determined by broth dilution method.Results: Total phenolic and flavonoid contents were significantly higher(P < 0.05) in green tea compared to other three black tea varieties.The green tea also showed a higher free radical scavenging and antioxidant activities than all the other tea varieties tested(P < 0.05).In addition, the extracts of all four tea varieties showed inhibitory activity against several pathogenic bacteria and also the same trend of higher antimicrobial activity of green tea than other tea varieties was observed.Conclusions: Taken together, the results of this study demonstrated that Bangladeshi tea,especially the green tea, may act as a substitute for natural antioxidants and as a promising antibacterial agent for beneficial influence in human health.Yead Morshed Nibir Ahmed Faisal Sumit Anwarul Azim Akhand Nazmul Ahsan Mohammad Shahnoor Hossain 2017Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2017,7,4:6
3A Survey on Fault Diagnosis and Fault Tolerant Methodologies for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machines显示文摘This paper presents a comprehensive survey of fault diagnosis and fault tolerant approaches for permanent magnet synchronous machines(PMSM).PMSMs are prominent in the pervading usage of electric motors,for their high efficiency,great robustness,reliability and low torque inertia.In spite of their extensive appliance,they can be quite non-resilient and inadequate in operation when faults appear in motor drive apparatus such as inverters,stator windings,sensors,etc.These may lead to insulation failure,torque fluctuations,overcurrent or even system collapse.On that account,fault diagnosis and fault tolerant methods are equipped to enhance the stability and robustness in PMSMs.Progressive methodologies of PMSM fault diagnosis and tolerance are classified,discussed,reviewed and compared in this paper,beginning with mat hematical modeling of PMSM and then scrutinizing various fault conditions in PMSMs.Finally,the scope of research on the topic is highlighted.The contribution of this review is to emphasize optimistic schemes and to assist researchers with the latest trends in this field for future directions.Erphan A.Bhuiyan Md.Maeenul Azad Akhand Sajal K.Das Md.F.Ali Z.Tasneem Md.R.Islam D.K.Saha Faisal R.Badal Md.H.Ahamed S.I.Moyeen 2020International Journal of Automation and computing2020,17,6:5
