2A Chaos Sparrow Search Algorithm with Logarithmic Spiral and Adaptive Step for Engineering Problems显示文摘The sparrow search algorithm(SSA)is a newly proposed meta-heuristic optimization algorithm based on the sparrowforaging principle.Similar to other meta-heuristic algorithms,SSA has problems such as slowconvergence speed and difficulty in jumping out of the local optimum.In order to overcome these shortcomings,a chaotic sparrow search algorithm based on logarithmic spiral strategy and adaptive step strategy(CLSSA)is proposed in this paper.Firstly,in order to balance the exploration and exploitation ability of the algorithm,chaotic mapping is introduced to adjust the main parameters of SSA.Secondly,in order to improve the diversity of the population and enhance the search of the surrounding space,the logarithmic spiral strategy is introduced to improve the sparrow search mechanism.Finally,the adaptive step strategy is introduced to better control the process of algorithm exploitation and exploration.The best chaotic map is determined by different test functions,and the CLSSA with the best chaotic map is applied to solve 23 benchmark functions and 3 classical engineering problems.The simulation results show that the iterative map is the best chaotic map,and CLSSA is efficient and useful for engineering problems,which is better than all comparison algorithms.Andi Tang Huan Zhou Tong Han Lei Xie 2022Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2022,,1:5

4ROS-responsive biomimetic nanoparticles for potential application in targeted anti-atherosclerosis显示文摘The development of nanomedicines provides new opportunities for the treatment of atherosclerosis(AS)due to their great advantages such as the improved drug solubility,enhanced bioavailability and reduced side effects.Despite these advantages,nanomedicines are still facing some challenges.The problems remain in the short circulation life,lack of specific targeting and poor drug release controllability.In order to overcome the shortages of conventional nanomedicines,the combination of biomimetic strategy with smart nanoagents has been proposed.In light with the high reactive oxygen species(ROS)level in AS microenvironment and the fact that macrophages play a critical role in the pathogenesis of AS,we fabricated ROS-responsive biomimetic nanoparticles(NPs),which camouflaged macrophage membrane(MM)on ROS-responsive NPs loaded with rapamycin(RNPs)for potential application in AS therapy.The resulting ROSresponsive biomimetic NPs(MM/RNPs)exhibited favorable hydrodynamic size with negative surface charge,retained the functional proteins from MM,and showed ROS-responsive drug release.Because of the biomimetic camouflaging on surface,MM/RNPs could effectively escape from macrophages uptake and target to inflammatory endothelial cells.Meanwhile,MM/RNPs could inhibit the proliferation of macrophages and smooth muscle cells in vitro.Furthermore,the MM-coated NPs were found to be nontoxic in both cytotoxicity assay and in vivo toxicity evaluation.Consequently,these results demonstrated that MM/RNPs could be a potential candidate of drug delivery system for safe and effective anti-AS applications.Dan Tang Yi Wang Andy Wijaya Boyan Liu Ali Maruf Jinxuan Wang Jianxiong Xu Xiaoling Liao Wei Wu Guixue Wang 2021Regenerative Biomaterials2021,8,4:2

9Coupling physics in machine learning to investigate the solution behavior of binary Mg alloys显示文摘The solution behavior of a second element in the primary phase(α(Mg))is important in the design of high-performance alloys.In this work,three sets of features have been collected:a)interaction features of solutes and Mg obtained from first-principles calculation,b)intrinsic physical properties of the pure elements and c)structural features.Based on the maximum solid solubility values,the solution behavior of elements inα(Mg)are classified into four types,e.g.,miscible,soluble,sparingly-soluble and slightly-soluble.The machine learning approach,including random forest and decision tree algorithm methods,is performed and it has been found that four features,e.g.,formation energy,electronegativity,non-bonded atomic radius,and work function,can together determine the classification of the solution behavior of an element inα(Mg).The mathematical correlations,as well as the physical relationships among the selected features have been analyzed.This model can also be applied to other systems following minor modifications of the defined features,if required.Tao Chen Qian Gao Yuan Yuan Tingyu Li Qian Xi Tingting Liu Aitao Tang Andy Watson Fusheng Pan 2022Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2022,10,10:0
10Water–solid contact electrification and catalysis adjusted by surface functional groups显示文摘Chemical functional groups on solid surfaces greatly influence contact electrification(CE)at water–solid interfaces.Previous studies of their effects mainly swapped materials or bonded related molecules to a substrate,introducing other factors of influence.This work aims at unambiguously demonstrating the role of functional groups in water-polymer CE.We study the contribution of functional groups,by using ion coupled plasma etching to modify a high-density polyethylene(HDPE)film,a polymer with a naturally quasi-null charge transfer ability.Fluoride(HDPE–F)and hydroxyl(HDPE–OH)functional groups are generated and endowed HDPE with charge withdrawing ability.HDPE–F withdraws 2.5–2.7 times more charges than HDPE–OH.Concurrently,the surface charges accumulated generate electrostatic forces,altering the droplets motion.This phenomenon provides another approach to study CE,helping to evaluate the contribution of electrons to solid–liquid CE.Finally,employing HDPE–F to perform contact-electro-catalysis shows its activity is 2.4 times higher than that of commercial fluorinated films.Yusen Su Andy Berbille Zhong Lin Wang Wei Tang 2024Nano Research2024,17,4:0
11Integrated genomic and transcriptomic analysis reveals genes associated with plant height of foxtail millet显示文摘Foxtail millet(Setaria italica)is an important C4 model crop;however,due to its high-density planting and high stature,lodging at the filling stage resulted in a serious reduction in yield and quality.Therefore,it is imperative to identify and deploy the genes controlling foxtail millet plant height.In this study,we used a semi-dwarf line 263A and an elite high-stalk breeding variety,Chuang 29 to construct an F2 population to identify dwarf genes.We performed transcriptome analysis(RNA-seq)using internode tissues sampled at three jointing stages of 263A and Chuang 29,as well as bulk segregant analysis(BSA)on their F2 population.A total of 8918 differentially expressed genes(DEGs)were obtained from RNA-seq analysis,and GO analysis showed that DEGs were enriched in functions such as‘‘gibberellin metabolic process”and‘‘oxidoreductase activity”,which have previously been shown to be associated with plant height.A total 593 mutated genes were screened by BSA-seq method.One hundred and seventy-six out of the 593 mutated genes showed differential expression levels between the two parental lines,and seven genes not only showed differential expression in two or three internode tissues but also showed high genomic variation in coding regions,which indicated they play a crucial role in plant height determination.Among them,we found a gibberellin biosynthesis related GA20 oxidase gene(Seita.5G404900),which had a single-base at the third exon,leading to the frameshift mutation at 263A.Cleaved amplified polymorphic sequence assay and association analysis proved the single-base in Seita.5G404900 co-segregated with dwarf phenotype in two independent F2 populations planted in entirely different environments.Taken together,the candidate genes identified in this study will help to elucidate the genetic basis of foxtail millet plant height,and the molecular marker will be useful for marker-assisted dwarf breeding.Mengyuan Zhu Qiang He Mingjie Lyu Tiantian Shi Qian Gao Hui Zhi Huan Wang Guanqing Jia Sha Tang Xiliu Cheng Rui Wanga Andi Xu Haigang Wang Zhijun Qiao Jun Liu Xianmin Diao Ying Gao 2023The Crop Journal2023,11,2:0
12Ultrafast laser-scanning time-stretch imaging at visible wavelengths显示文摘Optical time-stretch imaging enables the continuous capture of non-repetitive events in real time at a line-scan rate of tens of MHz—a distinct advantage for the ultrafast dynamics monitoring and high-throughput screening that are widely needed in biological microscopy.However,its potential is limited by the technical challenge of achieving significant pulse stretching(that is,high temporal dispersion)and low optical loss,which are the critical factors influencing imaging quality,in the visible spectrum demanded in many of these applications.We present a new pulse-stretching technique,termed free-space angular-chirpenhanced delay(FACED),with three distinguishing features absent in the prevailing dispersive-fiber-based implementations:(1)it generates substantial,reconfigurable temporal dispersion in free space(41 ns nm^(−1))with low intrinsic loss(o6 dB)at visible wavelengths;(2)its wavelength-invariant pulse-stretching operation introduces a new paradigm in time-stretch imaging,which can now be implemented both with and without spectral encoding;and(3)pulse stretching in FACED inherently provides an ultrafast all-optical laser-beam scanning mechanism at a line-scan rate of tens of MHz.Using FACED,we demonstrate not only ultrafast laser-scanning time-stretch imaging with superior bright-field image quality compared with previous work but also,for the first time,MHz fluorescence and colorized time-stretch microscopy.Our results show that this technique could enable a wider scope of applications in high-speed and high-throughput biological microscopy that were once out of reach.Jiang-Lai Wu Yi-Qing Xu Jing-Jiang Xu Xiao-Ming Wei Antony CS Chan Anson HL Tang Andy KS Lau Bob MF Chung Ho Cheung Shum Edmund Y Lam Kenneth KY Wong Kevin K Tsia 2016Light(Science & Applications)2016,5,1:0
