| 2 | High-resolution multimodal flexible coherent Raman endoscope显示文摘Coherent Raman scattering microscopy is a fast,label-free,and chemically specific imaging technique that shows high potential for future in vivo optical histology.However,the imaging depth in tissues is limited to the sub-millimeter range because of absorption and scattering.Realization of coherent Raman imaging using a fiber endoscope system is a crucial step towards imaging deep inside living tissues and providing information that is inaccessible with current microscopy tools.Until now,the development of coherent Raman endoscopy has been hampered by several issues,mainly related to the fiber delivery of the excitation pulses and signal collection.Here,we present a flexible,compact,coherent Raman,and multimodal nonlinear endoscope(4.2mm outer diameter,71mm rigid length)based on a resonantly scanned hollow-core Kagomé-lattice double-clad fiber.The fiber design enables distortion-less,background-free delivery of femtosecond excitation pulses and back-collection of nonlinear signals through the same fiber.Sub-micrometer spatial resolution over a large field of view is obtained by combination of a miniature objective lens with a silica microsphere lens inserted into the fiber core.We demonstrate high-resolution,high-contrast coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering,and second harmonic generation endoscopic imaging of biological tissues over a field of view of 320μm at a rate of 0.8 frames per second.These results pave the way for intraoperative label-free imaging applied to real-time histopathology diagnosis and surgery guidance. | Alberto Lombardini Vasyl Mytskaniuk Siddharth Sivankutty Esben Ravn Andresen Xueqin Chen Jérôme Wenger Marc Fabert Nicolas Joly Frédéric Louradour Alexandre Kudlinski Hervé Rigneault | 2018 | Light(Science & Applications)2018，7，1： | 6 |
| 3 | Inflammation and reactive oxygen species in cardiovascular disease显示文摘Reactive oxygen species(ROS)have long been proposed to be mediators of experimental cardiovascular pathology.There is also a wealth of data indicating that ROS are involved in clinical cardiovascular pathology.However,multiple clinical studies have shown little benefit from anti-oxidant treatments,whereas nearly all experimental studies have shown a marked effect of anti-oxidant therapy.One reason for this discrepancy is that ROS are produced through multiple different mechanisms of which some are clinically beneficial;thus,in a defined experimental system where predominately pathological ROS are generated does not mimic a clinical setting where there are likely to be multiple ROS generating systems producing beneficial and pathological ROS.Simple inhibition of ROS would not be expected to have the same result in these two situations;ergo,it is important to understand the molecular mechanism underlying the production of ROS so that clinical treatments can be tailored to target the pathological production of ROS.One such example of this in cardiovascular biology is tissue specific inflammation-mediated ROS generation.This and the following series of articles discuss the current understanding of the role of ROS in cardiovascular disease,specifically focusing on the molecular mechanisms of ROS generation and the actions of ROS within the cardiovascular system.Although there are still many areas with regard to the effects of ROS in the cardiovascular system that are not completely understood,there is a wealth of data suggesting that blocking pathological ROS production is likely to have beneficial clinical effects compared to traditional anti-oxidants. | Bradley T Andresen | 2010 | World Journal of Cardiology2010，2，12： | 5 |

| 6 | Megacolon in adulthood after surgical treatment of Hirschsprung's disease in early childhood显示文摘Hirschsprung's disease (HD) is a disorder associated with congenital malformation of the enteric nervous system with segmental aganglionosis. Prevailing therapy includes a resection of the affected part of the bowel. However, patients often do not obtain complete functional improvement after surgical treatment. We present the case of a 25-year-old woman who had surgical treatment of HD in early childhood. After that procedure she had clinical features of constipation for years in the end,passing of stool once a week, requiring laxatives and enemas. We diagnosed an incomplete resection of the aganglionic bowel via rectal biopsy and resected the remaining aganglionic segment. Two months after surgery the patient's bowel function improved to a frequency of 1-4 stools per day. We conclude that regular follow-up is required to identify HD patients with persistent alterations of bowel function after surgery. | 8 | Translational pain research: Evaluating analgesic effect in experimental visceral pain models显示文摘Deep visceral pain is frequent and presents major challenges in pain management, since its pathophysiology is still poorly understood. One way to optimize treatment of visceral pain is to improve knowledge of the mechanisms behind the pain and the mode of action of analgesic substances. This can be achieved through stand-ardized experimental human pain models. Experimental pain models in healthy volunteers are advantageous for evaluation of analgesic action, as this is often diff icult to assess in the clinic because of confounding factors such as sedation, nausea and general malaise. These pain models facilitate minimizing the gap between knowledge gained in animal and human clinical studies. Combining experimental pain studies and pharmacokinetic stud- ies can improve understanding of the pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic relationship of analgesics and, thus, provide valuable insight into optimal clinical treatment of visceral pain. To improve treatment of visceral pain, it is important to study the underlying mechanisms of pain and the action of analgesics used for its treatment. An experimental pain model activates different modalities and can be used to investigate the mechanism of action of different analgesics in detail. In combination with pharmacokinetic studies and objective assessment such as electroencephalography, new information re-garding a given drug substance and its effects can be obtained. | 13 | Sorption and phase distribution of ethanol and butanol blended gasoline vapours in the vadose zone after release显示文摘The sorption and phase distribution of 20% ethanol and butanol blended gasoline(E20 and B20) vapours have been examined in soils with varying soil organic matter(SOM) and water contents via laboratory microcosm experiments. The presence of 20% alcohol reduced the sorption of gasoline compounds by soil as well as the mass distribution of the compounds to soil solids. This effect was greater for ethanol than butanol. Compared with the sorption coefficient(Kd) of unblended gasoline compounds, the Kd of E20 gasoline compounds decreased by 54% for pentane, 54% for methylcyclopentane(MCP) and 63% for benzene, while the Kd of B20 gasoline compounds decreased by 39% for pentane, 38% for MCP and 49% for benzene. The retardation factor(R) of E20 gasoline compounds decreased by 53% for pentane, 53% for MCP and 48% for benzene, while the R of B20 gasoline compounds decreased by 39% for pentane, 37% for MCP and 38% for benzene. For all SOM and water contents tested, the Kd and R of all gasoline compounds were in the order of unblended gasoline > B20 > E20, indicating that the use of high ethanol volume in gasoline to combat climate change could put the groundwater at greater risk of contamination. | Ejikeme Ugwoha John M.
