2Long noncoding RNA(lncRNA)H19:An essential developmental regulator with expanding roles in cancer,stem cell differentiation,and metabolic diseases显示文摘Recent advances in deep sequencing technologies have revealed that,while less than 2%of the human genome is transcribed into mRNA for protein synthesis,over 80%of the genome is transcribed,leading to the production of large amounts of noncoding RNAs(ncRNAs).It has been shown that ncRNAs,especially long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs),may play crucial regulatory roles in gene expression.As one of the first isolated and reported lncRNAs,H19 has gained much attention due to its essential roles in regulating many physiological and/or pathological processes including embryogenesis,development,tumorigenesis,osteogen-esis,and metabolism.Mechanistically,H19 mediates diverse regulatory functions by serving as competing endogenous RNAs(CeRNAs),Igf2/H19 imprinted tandem gene,modular scaffold,cooperating with H19 antisense,and acting directly with other mRNAs or lncRNAs.Here,we summarized the current understanding of H19 in embryogenesis and development,cancer development and progression,mesenchymal stem cell lineage-specific differentiation,and metabolic diseases.We discussed the potential regulatory mechanisms underlying H19’s func-tions in those processes although more in-depth studies are warranted to delineate the exact molecular,cellular,epigenetic,and genomic regulatory mechanisms underlying the physiolog-ical and pathological roles of H19.Ultimately,these lines of investigation may lead to the development of novel therapeutics for human diseases by exploiting H19 functions.Junyi Liao Bowen Chen Zhenglin Zhu Chengcheng Du Shengqiang Gao Guozhi Zhao Piao Zhao Yonghui Wang Annie Wang Zander Schwartz Lily Song Jeffrey Hong William Wagstaff Rex CHaydon Hue HLuu Jiaming Fan Russell RReid Tong-Chuan He Lewis Shi Ning Hu Wei Huang 2023Genes & Diseases2023,10,4:1
3Columnar-to-Equiaxed Transition During Directional Solidification Under Strong Magnetic Field显示文摘Effects of strong magnetic fields on the columnar-to-equiaxed transition(CET)have been investigated experimentally.Experimental results show that the application of a strong magnetic field causes a dendrite fragmentation and then the CET.The thermoelectric magnetic force acting on cells/dendrites and equiaxed grains in the mushy zone has been studied numerically.Numerical results reveal that a torque is created on cells/dendrites and equiaxed grains and the value of the thermoelectric magnetic force increases as the magnetic field intensity increase.This torque breaks cells/dendrites and drives the rotation of equiaxed grains.As a consequence,the CET will occur during directional solidification under a strong magnetic field.This may initiate a new method to induce the CET via an applied strong magnetic field during directional solidification.LI Xi DU Da-fan Annie GAGNOUD Yves FAUTRELLE REN Zhong-ming 2012Journal of Iron and Steel Research(International)2012,19,S2:0
4Modularly designed peptide-based nanomedicine inhibits angiogenesis to enhance chemotherapy for post-surgical recurrence of esophageal squamous cell carcinomas显示文摘Traditional surgical treatment is difficult to thoroughly remove esophageal squamous cell carcinomas(ESCC),postoperative recurrence caused by residual tumor cells is a critical factor in the poor prognosis.Since surgical resection promotes the local angiogenesis at the tumor site,further exacerbating the proliferation and invasion of residual tumor cells,it is urgent to inhibit angiogenesis after surgery.Here,a functional peptide-based nanomedicine was obtained from peptide–drug conjugates,which are composed of a hydrophilic targeting motif(vascular endothelial growth factor family and their receptors(VEGFR)targeting peptide for anti-angiogenesis),an ester-linked hydrophobic oridonin(ORI).The nanomedicine exhibits esterase-catalyzed disassembly and drug release,significantly enhanced the anti-tumor efficacy of chemotherapeutics in a postoperative tumor recurrence model through synergistic anti-angiogenic strategies.This study provides an integrated solution for anti-angiogenesisaugmented chemotherapy and demonstrates the encouraging potential for postoperative treatment.Yingqiu Qi Jinxiu Shen Chen Liu Anni Du Mengdie Chen Xiaocao Meng Hui Wang Saiyang Zhang Lirong Zhang Zhongjun Li Yike Li Yale Yue Huan Min 2023Nano Research2023,16,5:0
