1Aerodynamic drag reduction of heavy vehicles using append devices by CFD analysis显示文摘Improving vehicle fuel consumption,performance and aerodynamic efficiency by drag reduction especially in heavy vehicles is one of the indispensable issues of automotive industry.In this work,the effects of adding append devices like deflector and cab vane corner on heavy commercial vehicle drag reduction were investigated.For this purpose,the vehicle body structure was modeled with various supplementary parts at the first stage.Then,computational fluid dynamic(CFD) analysis was utilized for each case to enhance the optimal aerodynamic structure at different longitudinal speeds for heavy commercial vehicles.The results show that the most effective supplementary part is deflector,and by adding this part,the drag coefficient is decreased considerably at an optimum angle.By adding two cab vane corners at both frontal edges of cab,a significant drag reduction is noticed.Back vanes and base flaps are simple plates which can be added at the top and side end of container and at the bottom with specific angle respectively to direct the flow and prevent the turbulence.Through the analysis of airflow and pressure distribution,the results reveal that the cab vane reduces fuel consumption and drag coefficient by up to 20 % receptively using proper deflector angle.Finally,by adding all supplementary parts at their optimized positions,41% drag reduction is obtained compared to the simple model.Mehrdad khosravi Farshid Mosaddeghi Majid Oveisi Ali Khodayari Bavil 2015Journal of Central South University2015,22,12:15

9Frequency Selective Propagation by Employing Fabry-Perot Nanocavities in a Subwavelength Double-slit Structure显示文摘By embedding a nanocavity adjacent to one or both of slits in a subwavelength double-slit structure,frequency selective propagation through the slits is demonstrated.When the incident light wavelength corresponds to the cavity resonance mode,the electromagnetic wave passing through the slit will be trapped within the nanocavity.Therefore,the double slit operates as a single slit and light propagation is solely allowed through the partner slit.These wavelengths are determined by applying the Fabry Perot resonance condition for the nanocavities.Various geometrical structures result in different effective refractive indexes.Thus,the effective refractive index and consequently the attenuation wavelength can be adjusted by choosing the appropriate parameters of the nanocavity.Our theoretical predictions are in good agreement with 2D finite-difference time-domain simulation.M.Afshari Bavil 孙秀冬 黄锋 2012Chinese Physics Letters2012,29,4:0
10A compact frequency selective stop-band splitter by using Fabry Perot nanocavity in a T-shaped waveguide显示文摘By utilizing a Fabry-Perot (FP) nanocavity adjacent to T-shaped gap waveguide ports, spectrally selective filtering is realized. When the wavelength of incident light corresponds to the resonance wavelength of the FP nanocavity, the surface plasmons are captured inside the nanocavity, and light is highly reflected from this port. The resonance wavelength is determined by using Fabry-Perot resonance condition for the nanocavity. For any desired filtering frequency the dimension of the nanocavity can be tailored. The numerical results are based on the two-dimensional finite difference time domain simulation under a perfectly matched layer absorbing boundary condition.
