| 1 | K-Ar dating of extensional fault gouge from the Yi-Shu segment of the Tan-Lu fault zone显示文摘Two grabens were developed in the Yi-Shu segment of the Tan-Lu fault zone (TLFZ) during its exten-sional activities, and are now confined by four major NNE-trending normal faults and filled with Creta-ceous sediments. These faults were developed due to their reactivities, containing gouge and cutting the graben sediments. Detailed fieldwork demonstrates that the faults experienced sinistral transten-sional moment related to regional NE-SW extension during the reactivity. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis of the finest gouge samples gives illite crystallinity values higher than 0.42o?2θ, indicating temperatures experienced by the gouge samples were less than 150℃ . From the relation between K-Ar data and proportions of detrital illite in different size fractions of the gouge samples, we conclude that refaulting for the western boundary fault of the TLFZ, abbreviated to F4, took place at ca. 90 Ma and for the eastern boundary fault, abbreviated to F1, happened from 70 to 60 Ma. During the two phases of reactivity imposed by the same NE-SW extension, the TLFZ experienced uplifting and no sediments were deposited in the two grabens. | 2 | Deformation characteristics and genesis of the Waziyu metamorphic core complex in western Liaoning of China显示文摘The Waziyu metamorphic core complex is situated at the eastern end of the Yanshan tectonic belt.The NNE-striking detachment ductile shear zone in the core complex lies between the Archean metamorphic basement and Fuxin-Yixian rift basin,dips NW gently,and shows corrugation folds.Exposure structures,microstructures,and quartz C-axis fabrics all indicate top-to-the WNW sense of shear,i.e.,ca.285°,for the shear zone.Estimates of the deformation temperatures(ca.550-250°C) demonstrate its mid-crustal origination and progressive deformation from deep to shallow levels.The northern segment of the shear zone shows relatively weak exhumation with exposures of low-temperature mylonites whereas its middle and southern segments have more intense uplifting with exposures of high-temperature mylonites.Biotite and muscovite 40 Ar/39 Ar ages,U-Pb dating results of zircon from dikes and plutons as well as formation ages of the supra-detachment basin all suggest the formation time of 135-100 Ma for the core complex.The formation was also associated with syntectonic emplacement of the Early Cretaceous Shishan pluton.The western margin of the core complex was truncated by the Sunjiawan-Shaohuyingzi brittle normal fault when it uplifted to shallow crust levels,and finally exhumed to near-surface levels.The core complex was developed by the rolling-hinge model under WNW-ESE extension during the Early Cretaceous peak destruction of the North China Craton.Ductile flow did not appear in the lower plate,therefore not supporting the low-crust gravitational collapse. | ZHANG BiLong ZHU Guang CHEN Yin PIAO XueFeng JU LinXue WANG HaoQian | 2012 | Science China Earth Sciences2012，55，11： | 4 |
| 3 | A comparative study of the ovicidal and larvicidal activities of aqueous and ethanolic extracts of pawpaw seeds Carica papaya(Caricaceae) on Heligmosomoides bakeri显示文摘Objective:To assess the ovicidal and larvicidal activities of aqueous and ethanolic extracts of pawpaw seeds Carica papaya(Caricaceae) on the eggs and first stage larvae(L1) of Heligmosomoides bakeri.Methods:Eggs of this parasite were obtained from experimentally infested mice(Mus musculus) and larvae were from eggs after incubation at 25℃for about 72 hours.The eggs and larvae were exposed to ten different concentrations(0.125,0.25,0.375,0.5, 0.75,1.0,1.25,1.75,2.25 and 2.75 mg/mL) of both aqueous and ethanolic extracts respectively for 72 hours.Distilled water and 0.05%ethanol used as placebo and negative control,respectively. Results:Placebo and negative control group all showed average 92%embryonnation,98%egg hatching and 2%larval mortality,and did not affect development and larval survival.The extracts inhibited embryonic development,egg hatching and larval survival.In general,the ovicidal and larvicidal activities increased with increasing concentration of different extracts.The aqueous extract was found to be more potent on eggs than on larvae.At 2.75 mg/mL,only 8%of eggs embryonnated and 50%hatched to L1 vs 57%embryonic development and 79%hatching occurred in the ethanolic extract.However,this later extract was more efficient in preventing larval development producing 96%mortality as against 68%with the aqueous extract.Conclusions: These results shows the ovicidal and larvicidal properties of aqueous and ethanolic pawpaw seeds extracts. | Wabo Pone J Ngankam Ntemah JD Bilong Bilong CF Mpoame Mbida | 2011 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2011，4，6： | 3 |
| 4 | In vitro activities of acetonic extracts from leaves of three forage legumes(Calliandra calotyrsus,Gliricidia sepium and Leucaena diversifolia) on Haemonchus contortus显示文摘Objective:To assess ovicidal activity of three acetonic extracts from the leaves of three forage legume,Calliandra calotyrsus(C.calotyrsus),Gliricidia sepium(G.sepium) and Leucaena diversifolia(L.diversifolia) in vitro on Haemonchus contortus(H.contortus).Methods:Eggs were exposed for 24 hours to five different concentrations(0.075,0.15,0.3,0.6 and 1.25 mg/mL) of acetonic extracts at room temperature(24℃).Distilled water and 0.4%Tween were used in the bioassay as negative controls.Results:The later did not affect embryonation and egg hatching of H.contortus.Conversively,significant effects were obtained with the acetonic extracts of leaves of all three plants and the maximum activity was observed with the highest concentration (1.25 mg/mL).The acetonic extract of G.sepium was found to be more active(2.9%and 0.0% for embryonation and egg hatching,respectively) than the other substances 16.5%and 33.5%, respectively for C.calothyrsus,33.7%and 33.3%,respectively for L diversifolia.Conclusions: These results suggest that the three forage legumes do possess ovicidal properties and further studies on larvae should be carried out. | Wabo Pone J Kenne Tameli Florence Mpoame Mbida Pamo Tedonkeng E Bilong Bilong CF | 2011 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2011，4，2： | 2 |
| 5 | Electrokinetic flow in the U-shaped micro-nanochannels显示文摘U-shaped micro-nanochannels can generate significant flow disturbance as well as locally amplified electric field, which gives itself potential to be microfluidic mixers, electrokinetic pumps,and even cell lysis process. Numerical simulation is utilized in this work to study the hidden characteristics of the U-shaped micro-nanochannel system, and the effects of key controlling parameters(the external voltage and pressure) on the device output metrics(current, maximum values of electric field, shear stress and flow velocity) were evaluated. A large portion of current flowing through the whole system goes through the nanochannels, rather than the middle part of the microchannel, with its value increasing linearly with the increase of voltage. Due to the local ion depletion near micro-nanofluidic junction, significantly enhanced electric field(as much as 15 fold at V=1 V and P_0=0) as well as strong shear stress(leading to electrokinetic flow) is generated.With increasing external pressure, both electric field and shear stress can be increased initially(due to shortening of depletion region length), but are suppressed eventually at higher pressure due to the destruction of ion depletion layer.
