Sparse microwave imaging:Principles and applications显示文摘This paper provides principles and applications of the sparse microwave imaging theory and technology.Synthetic aperture radar(SAR) is an important method of modern remote sensing.During decades microwave imaging technology has achieved remarkable progress in the system performance of microwave imaging technology, and at the same time encountered increasing complexity in system implementation. The sparse microwave imaging introduces the sparse signal processing theory to radar imaging to obtain new theory, new system and new methodology of microwave imaging.Based on classical SAR imaging model and fundamental theories of sparse signal processing,we can derive the model of sparse microwave imaging, which is a sparse measurement and recovery problem and can be solved with various algorithms. There exist several fundamental points that must be considered in the efforts of applying sparse signal processing to radar imaging, including sparse representation, measurement matrix construction, unambiguity reconstruction and performance evaluation.Based on these considerations, the sparse signal processing could be successfully applied to radar imaging, and achieve benefits in several aspects, including improvement of image quality, reduction of data amount for sparse scene and enhancement of system performance. The sparse signal processing has also been applied in several specific radar imaging applications. | ZHANG BingChen HONG Wen WU YiRong | 2012 | Science China(Information Sciences)2012,55,8: | 48
Experimental results and analysis of sparse microwave imaging from spaceborne radar raw data显示文摘Sparse microwave imaging is a novel radar framework aiming to bring revolutions to the microwave imaging according to the theory of sparse signal processing. As compressive sensing(CS)is introduced to synthetic aperture radar(SAR)imaging in recent years, the current SAR sparse imaging methods have shown their advantages over the traditional matched filtering methods. However, the requirement for these methods to process the compressed range data results in the increase of the hardware complexity. So the SAR sparse imaging method that directly uses the raw data is needed. This paper describes the method of SAR sparse imaging with raw data directly, presents the analysis of the signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)in the echo signal by combining the traditional radar equation with the compressive sensing theory, and provides the tests on 2-D simulated SAR data. The simulation results demonstrate the validity of the SNR analysis, and the good performance of the proposed method while a large percentage of the raw data is dropped. An experiment with RadarSat-1 raw data is also carried out to show the feasibility of processing the real SAR data via the method proposed in this paper. Our method is helpful for designing new SAR systems. | JIANG ChengLong ZHANG BingChen ZHANG Zhe HONG Wen WU YiRong | 2012 | Science China(Information Sciences)2012,55,8: | 9
Multi-channel SAR imaging based on distributed compressive sensing显示文摘The rapid development of compressive sensing(CS)shows that it is possible to recover a sparse signal from very limited measurements.Synthetic aperture radar(SAR)imaging based on CS can reconstruct the target scene with a reduced number of collected samples by solving an optimization problem. For multi-channel SAR imaging based on CS,each channel requires sufficient samples for separate imaging and the total number of samples could still be large. We propose an imaging algorithm based on distributed compressive sensing(DCS)that reconstructs scenes jointly under multiple channels.Multi-channel SAR imaging based on DCS not only exploits the sparsity of the target scene, but also exploits the correlation among channels. It requires significantly fewer samples than multi-channel SAR imaging based on CS.If multiple channels offer different sampling rates,DCS joint processing can reconstruct target scenes with a much more flexible allocation of the number of measurements offered by each channel than that used in separate CS processing. | LIN YueGuan ZHANG BingChen JIANG Hai HONG Wen WU YiRong | 2012 | Science China(Information Sciences)2012,55,2: | 8

Modeling of suspended sediment transport with wave-induced longshore current in Huanghe (Yellow) River Delta显示文摘A three-dimensional suspended sediment model (SED) developed by the present authors is coupled with the combinatorial model of COHERENS (Luyten et al., 1999) (the three-dimensional coupled hydrodynamical-ecological model for Regional and Shelf Seas) and SWAN (Holthuijsen et al., 2004) (the third generation wave model). SWAN is regarded as a subroutine of COHERENS and gets time- and space-varying current velocity and surface elevation from COHERENS. COHERENS gets time- and space- varying wave relevant parameters provided by SWAN. Effects of wave on current are applied in bottom shear stress, wave-induced depth-dependent radiation stress and surface drag coeffcient calculation. At the same time, the damping function of suspended sediment on turbulence is introduced into COHERENS. So the sediment model SED has feedback on circulation model COHERENS. The SED obtains current associated parameters from COHERENS. Then a coupled hydrodynamic-sediment model COHERENS-SED being able to account for interaction between wave and current is obtained. COHERENS-SED is adopted to simulate three-dimensional suspended sediment transport in the Huanghe River delta. In terms of simulation results, there is obvious difference between top and bottom layer of wave-induced longshore current. The val- ues of time series of sediment concentration gotten by COHERENS-SED have, generally, an ac- cepted agreement extent with measurement. Significant wave heights and wave periods obtained by COHERENS-SED show that wave simulation case with current s effect can give better agreement extent with measurement than case without current s effect. In the meantime, suspended sediment concentration distributing rule obtained by COHERENS-SED is similar to former researches and measurement. | LI Changliang LIANG Bingchen ZHANG Jing | 2009 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2009,28,3: | 4

Phase transition and heterogeneous strengthening mechanism in CoCrFeNiMn high-entropy alloy fabricated by laser-engineered net shaping via annealing at intermediate-temperature显示文摘High-entropy alloys(HEAs)have attracted tremendous attention owing to their controllable mechanical properties, whereas additive manufacturing(AM)is an efficient and flexible processing route for novel materials design. However,a profound appraisal of the fundamental material physics behind the strengthening of AM-printed HEAs upon low/intermediate-temperature annealing is essential. In this work,Co CrFe Ni Mn HEAs have been prepared using laser-engineered net shaping(LENS)and subsequently annealed at different temperatures. The Co Cr Fe Ni Mn HEA annealed at intermediate-temperature(873 K)exhibits a strong strain hardening capability, resulting in ultimate strength of 725 MPa and plasticity of 22%.A ternary heterogeneous strengthening mechanism is proposed to explain this phenomenon,in which equiaxed grains, columnar grains, andσprecipitates play different roles during tensile deformation. The resultant excellent strength and ductility can be ascribed to the heterostructure-induced mismatch. The equiaxed grains provide adequate grain boundaries(GBs),which induce dislocation plugging-up and entanglement;the columnar grains induce the onset and arrest of the dislocations for plastic deformation;and theσprecipitates hinder the movement of slip dislocations. The results provide new insights into overcoming the strength-ductility trade-off of LENS-printed HEAs with complex geometries. | Yunjian Bai Heng Jiang Kuo Yan Maohui Li Yanpeng Wei Kun Zhang Bingchen Wei | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,33: | 3
System design and first airborne experiment of sparse microwave imaging radar: initial results显示文摘In this paper, we mainly study the system design of sparse microwave imaging radar and report some of the preliminary results of airborne experiments performed with it. Sparse microwave imaging radar is a novel concept which introduces the sparse signal processing theory to microwave imaging replacing the conventional matched filtering processing method. With the exploitation of the sparse microwave imaging, the radar system could achieve better performance. As a newly developed concept, the two main types of applications of sparse microwave imaging are found in adopting the sparse signal processing theory to current radar systems, and in designing an optimized sparse microwave imaging system. Here we are trying the latter that mainly aims at lower PRF and wider swath. We first introduce the theories of sparse microwave imaging radar and its imaging algorithm. Then we discuss the system designing principles, including the sampling scheme, signal bandwidth,SNR and multi-channel mode. Based on the relationships of these parameters, we provide a design example of radar parameters. In the end, we exploit an airborne experiment using our designed radar system with jittered azimuth sampling strategy. Some preliminary analysis from the experiment result is also provided. | ZHANG BingChen ZHANG Zhe JIANG ChengLong ZHAO Yao HONG Wen WU YiRong | 2015 | Science China(Information Sciences)2015,58,6: | 3
Microstructural evolution and energetic characteristics of TiZrHfTa_(0.7)W_(0.3)high-entropy alloy under high strain rates and its application in high-velocity penetration显示文摘Energetic structural materials(ESMs)integrated a high energy density and rapid energy release with the ability to serve as structural materials. Here,a novel triple-phase TiZrHfTa_(0.7)W_(0.3)high-entropy alloy(HEA)was fabricated and investigated as a potential ESM.A hierarchical microstructure was obtained with a main metastable body-centered-cubic(BCC)matrix with distributed Ta-W-rich BCC precipitates of various sizes and interwoven hexagonal close-packed(HCP)lamellar nano-plates.The compressive me-chanical properties were tested across a range of strain rates and demonstrated a brittle-to-ductile tran-sition as the strain rate increased while maintaining a high ultimate strength of approximately 2.5 GPa.This was due to the phase transformation from metastable matrix BCC to HCP structures. In addition, during the dynamic deformation, metal combustion originating from the failure surface was observed.Furthermore, the composition of the fragments was studied, and the results indicated that the addition of tungsten promoted combustion. Finally, the potential application of this HEA was evaluated by high-velocity penetration tests, and the results were compared to other typical structural materials for pene-trators and bullets.A comparison was conducted by assessing the geometries of the penetration channel employing two dimensionless parameters normalized by the projectile size, representing longitudinal and lateral damage, respectively. The normalized depth of the TiZrHfTa_(0.7)W_(0.3)HEA projectile was comparable to those of the other investigated materials, but the normalized diameter was the largest, showing an excellent ability to deliver lateral damage. | Weiqi Tang Kun Zhang Tianyu Chen Qiu Wang Bingchen Wei | 2023 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,1: | 3
Baseline distribution optimization and missing data completion in wavelet-based CS-Tomo SAR显示文摘In this paper, we propose a coherence of measurement matrix-based baseline distribution optimization criterion, together with an L1 regularization missing data completion method for unobserved baselines(not belonging to the actual baseline distribution), to facilitate wavelet-based compressive sensingtomographic synthetic aperture radar imaging(CS-Tomo SAR) in forested areas. Using M actual baselines,we first estimate the optimal baseline distribution with N baselines(N > M), including N-M unobserved baselines, via the proposed coherence criterion. We then use the geometric relationship between the actual and unobserved baseline distributions to reconstruct the transformation matrix by solving an L1 regularization problem, and calculate the unobserved baseline data using the measurements of actual baselines and the estimated transformation matrix. Finally, we exploit the wavelet-based CS technique to reconstruct the elevation via the completed data of N baselines. Compared to results obtained using only the data of actual baselines, the recovered image based on the dataset obtained by our proposed method shows higher elevation recovery accuracy and better super-resolution ability. Experimental results based on simulated and real data validated the effectiveness of the proposed method. | Hui BI Jianguo LIU Bingchen ZHANG Wen HONG | 2018 | Science China(Information Sciences)2018,61,4: | 2
